Welcome back Tony. It's raining and 12 degrees and the forecast is not much change over the course of the morning but should start to brighten up a bit in the afternoon.

Re: Weather
Thanks for the welcomes back, not missing the sun and heat at all Good news on the MoT GH too. Yesterday's sun and stiff breeze did the trick with getting the holiday washing dried. No chance of that today as rain passes over us on its way south and east. Still readjusting to the change in temps although I'm glad we missed yesterdays 38°c where we were. Now need to work out where we go next
Happy travels if you're away.

Grey. That sums up today’s weather. Hoping to clean the luton top today assuming Mrs C goes out so that I can sneak out the tall stepladder. It has grip rails on both sides of the rungs.

More cloud here this morning and a fresher feel but still dry
Planning to get on the roof too today to finish the van detailing but need to visit the shops first so I am told
France in two weeks time then back somewhen in July or early August followed by home to Canada in September
Have a great time if you are away and just as good if at home.

Re: Weather
It started bright and dry for our walk but by the time I had been to see the foot lady it was threatening to rain.
The dead lock for the habitation door was looking tatty because the paint was pealing off so I decided to take it off and re paint it. A simple job just requiring the four Philips Head Screws from inside undoing.
Two screws came out one snapped off and the last one took a lot of persuasion finishing with mole grips that snapped the head off. Getting the Brocken screws out needed heating to help them come out. I will put it back with stainless bolts.
Whilst waiting for the primer on the lock to dry I was intending to start clearing up the garden rubbish from yesterday but it started raining at lunch time. The local bird population like the rubbish pile so they can have another day enjoying it.

Nice bright morning but after lunch, rain again. Rather dark clouds overhead , looking like rain set for rest of day.

Nice bright morning but chilly at 7 degrees. Should be sunny all day but the temp will only rise to around the 13 degree mark Better than yesterday though, some of the 'showers' yesterday evening bordered on torrential.
Take care if on your travels.

Re: Weather
A nice bright and dry start so I have really got to clear up the rubbish in he garden. I know it won’t all go in the wheely bin so I can see a trip to the dump will be needed.
The garden bin is emptied fortnightly and there is limit to the size of branches you can put in it so we have to use managements car. It wast a problem when I had my Landrovers and the trailer. We still have the trailer but the only tow bar is on the Rienza.

Re: Weather
Morning all. Tipping it down with a strong breeze and will probably be on until lunchtime at least, sunshine and showers this afternoon expected. Much cooler with a high of 12°c, forecast is even predicting snow falling on mountain tops today. Remind me, this is summertime, isn't it? Good day for getting my planning head on.

Re: Weather
13 degrees so far, sunny and supposed to remain dry all with temp climbing to around 17 degrees. Bit of tidying up to do outside then new battery to go in van and new grip tape o the side steps plus make sure everything is working 100% before heading off in a couple of weeks.
Royal Cornwall Show this weekend so things will be extra busy with people coming down to see the King and observe the cattle.

Re: Weather
Sunshine and 9° at moment, rising to only 13 , slim chance of rain. Not exactly summer temperatures.

Re: Weather
I got the garden rubbish sorted and shifted some accumulated junk to the dump. Amongst the junk there was a damaged roof vent and a kids size shopping trolley. The vent is from the Duetto and I think the trolley belonged to daughters friends. kids.
It’s been a nice bright day but the breeze seamed chilly even so I managed to get the dead lock put back together and fitted. Whilst I was fitting it the smoke alarm it kept bleeping at me. A new battery didn’t cure it so a trip to Screwfix and a new alarm is now fitted.
That alarm was fitted when we bought the van and I was led to believe it was a combined CO2 / smoke alarm. On closer inspection it’s a smoke alarm so changing it is a good move if a little late.

Sunshine and showers today with a high of 14°c but the wind is making it feel much colder. Shopping day, saw an article yesterday which explains the occasional egg shortage in shops. Appears that, since 2022, many producers (not the hens ) have left the business due to higher costs and falling revenues. Let's see what today brings.

Mention that in the election broadcasts and one of your finest politicians will hatch an eggciting plan to solve that problem, fully costed of course! What a clucking shower.Askit wrote:Sunshine and showers today with a high of 14°c but the wind is making it feel much colder. Another nice sunny day today, managed to get the front lawn cut, spent most of the morning with my head down the toilet....
in the van that is, it wouldn't flush, pump seized. Remove pump, hit it with plusgas, wired it the old engine battery I took out yesterday and it span away. Put it all back in and dead as a dodo. Took it out again this time put it in a bucket of water, connect to the battery again and hey presto it pumped like a good 'un. Once again put it back in and now seems fine, possibly an air lock but will probably buy a spare just in case. Seem to be some copy pumps to the original Thetford one out there at a quarter of the price. They probably come from the same factory
Son and family coming down this weekend, looking forward to seeing his latest camper conversion, this one on a 2018 Fiat MWB hitop van which is hardly used, he is pretty talented and will make it a three berth, should be interesting as he reckons the whole lot will cost under £20K and be worth about £25K when finished
Happy travels all those on the road!

Re: Weather
Got eggs no problem GH, the price has gone up but you've just got to shell out Rain again this morning and the north westerly wind has just kept blowing keeping it cold and unsettled. Should be drier this afternoon but with a high of 14° it's nothing to get excited about. Little change expected over the next few days.
