A nice bright and dry start here. Nothing much planned after our walk so I might get motivated to wash the van before our next trip.

Re: Weather
We had some rain overnight but dry now, rather cool at 13° rising to 15 later. Slim chance of rain. Can't do much today as have BT/openreach/Quinn engineer coming to put fibre direct to the house.

Been pouring all morning. Stopped now and some blue patches in the sky as the clouds are breaking up. 12 degrees with not much change forecast.

Re: Weather
Bit of a change this morning, today it's dry first and then we've got rain instead of the other way round. Little change in the temps though with a high of 14°c but it feels much colder in the wind. Enjoying the election coverage here, I'm finding lots of ways to avoid watching TV, listening to radio and bypassing online media propaganda

It must have rained overnight but it’s dry now and quite warm. Muttly will like his walk because the there will be lots of wet grass smells.

Next to us are a Dutch couple who live in a Carribbean Island. Spend 6 months there, 6 months in van in Europe.
They're used to 30c and normally travel south when in Europe.
5c and rain here today!!! Bloody expensive place to buy clothes too!

Re: Weather
We might have a dry day today for a change and a high of 15°c but it's a downward trend for the temperatures going into next week. No let up in the stiff north/ north westerly winds which make it feel colder. Need to get my planning head on, just in case things improve

Grandsons 10th birthday so down for weekend, went to the skate park yesterday followed by a walk now he and Lady G are playing badminton in the garden. Great to see so many children out exercising instead of playing video games.
Stayed sunny and warm so happy days.
Have a great day all and enjoy Norway Ian

Re: Weather
12 degrees and dull (bit like my mood at the moment).
Power went out in the house this morning, according to the RCD it was the sockets. Traced it to the washing machine - the Boss was running it on the highest setting. Of course, it had tripped part way through the cycle when it was full of almost boiling water. Only way to get into the plug was to drain it from the teeny weeny filter outlet.
An hour later and one scalded hand, pulled the plug and lo and behold all the power came on again. Plugged it in and it went off again so think the Machine is kaput...

Use it on 30c and next time won't burn your hands. You can always make a negative into a positive!!
Now, in return for my kind help, please stop it raining in Norway.

Brighter this morning but colder at 8 degrees. Forecast is for an overcast day with temps reaching around 13.
Tried my best for you Ian but not sure if my psychic weather changing powers reach Norway - apparently it was lovely half way over the North Sea.....

Re: Weather
Some breaks in the clouds but it's not warm outside. Hopefully it will stay dry but that's about the best of it today. Might get up to 14°c so the fleece stays on for a few more days at least. Glad you had good weather for your family visiting GH and I agree with you about youngsters and computer games. On our recent holiday there were children having great fun with their families in and around the pool. There were others though, under umbrellas in bright sunshine, with their faces stuck into tablets playing games

Ah yes: read 7 novels when waiting for rain to stop in Norway! No point in driving when mist hides the views. Mind you, when it stopped the waterfalls were spectacular!IanH wrote:

Hope your gin etc stock is bearing up: you don’t want to buy in Norway!
But I still envy the trip. We’re off to Rudesheim in a fortnight.

Ps: cloudless and 13C here, after overnight showers. A day cutting ivy, I fear.

Re: Weather
Rain started around lunchtime yesterday and didn't stop for the rest of the day. Carried on through the night with some torrential periods which woke me with the sound of it. It's dry now and bright sunshine but still a good chance of more rain today. Temp 8° now and rising to 13.

Re: Weather
It looks like it’s going to be a soggy day here. It rained early hours and it’s been drizzling intermittently whilst I sorted breakfast.
Nothing really planned but we might do a bigger shop to get a couple of bits we need before we go away next Monday. I had planned to wash the van yesterday but our son turned up yesterday and distracted me.
