Re: Weather
Nice enough to BBQ yesterday but we had a heavy shower in the evening. Bright and sunny with broken cloud again, 6°c rising to 11°c later and showers always a possibility. Good walking weather again so off we jolly well go.
Talking to the folk next to us after telling them how good their Hymer van convertion looks. They ordered it in April 2021 after seeing one at the NEC, it was delivered........April 2023

Re: Weather
Dry for the early shop but grey and overcast.Back home by 8am and have to confess to crawling back in to bed for an hour.
Now ominous black clouds and a few spots of rain so might have a crack at repairing the wall in the hallway where we had the water leak as it has dried out now
Hoping to get away with a bit of filling, stain block and a few coats of paint otherwise it is a strip the plaster job and that is beyond my skill set.
Have a great day all

Re: Weather
Another mixed day of showers and a chilly breeze but after getting soggy going across to Lidl it’s brightened up whilst we are having lunch.
The kids turned up with managements birthday presents to take with us but whilst we were in Lidl she reminded me no one had bought her a birthday cake. Fortunately she is easily pleased so we found a nice cake to take with us. I will have a dig in the kitchen drawers for candles.

Re: Weather
A bright and dry start here. Muttly was pacing about early this morning but when I opened the door he looked out and wandered back into the sitting room. He is like a kid because knows the van is off the drive so something is happening.
Porridge and toast for breakfast ,a short walk and then finish packing ready for off. It will be a nice change to be heading north.

Re: Weather
Enjoy your travels folks. Almost a repeat of yesterday's weather here, broken cloud and a high of 11°c with the inevitable chance of a shower Despite the same threat yesterday it was dry all day, lovely in the sun but you could feel the cold bite when it hid behind the clouds. Another good walking day for us.....hopefully.

Re: Weather
Good to see those vans rolling again, so make the most of it everyone and take care.
Ground slightly damp this morning so may have been light rain overnight but sun is trying its best now. So much colour in the garden right now, this has to be the prettiest time of the year and the birds are singing their heads off.

Re: Weather
Another decent day in prospect with no rain on the forecast, should remain cloudy with some sunshine and a high of 11°c. After all the exertions of the last few days we're taking it easy with a wander through the woods, keep hearing Woodpeckers but can't spot one. Plenty of Red Squirrels though.

Re: Weather
It started raining hard before we got up this morning and muttly is pretending to be asleep. We managed to walk down to the bay after tea yesterday so he won’t need much of a walk when the rain eases off.
The cinder track being an old railway is normally muddy but it’s black mud and worse than we have seen it before. Fortunately muttly managed to cross the track last night without getting mucky and bringing it into the van.

Re: Weather
We managed a soggy walk eventually. The site roads are draining on to the cinder track via the gate at the side of us. It took a bit of careful planning to get out without getting wet feet. There is a lot of standing water on the site. It will take a lot for it to dry out by the first bank holiday. We have been tenting with kids and dog on muddy sites. No more thankfully.
As management reminded me I don’t possess a pair of welly boots. I was issued with steel toe cap ones when I was doing breakdowns. For the walks I do my walking boots are ok. I find wellies cold and uncomfortable.

Re: Weather
Spent most of the day at Basset Cove on the north coast, sunny and just beautiful, very quiet too.
Van really needed the run, turned the key this morning and battery wasn't playing, attached the nocoboost and burst in to life, something really worth carrying.
Grandchildren in Canada are in the RCAF air cadets and 13 year old is just having her first flying lesson then her 11 year old brother just after never did things like that when I was that age! This flying malarkey must run in the family,️
Hope they have digested breakfast!
