Re: Weather
It did stay dry here but the temperature was irrelevant as the wind would have cut you like a knife it was so cold.
We gave a mini-greenhouse which has twinwall polycarbonate panels, it's now over 30 years old and has stood up to everything the weather can throw at it. The cold frame of a similar vintage is a different story, it came with glass. I have had to replace both of the top sheets twice because of broken glass (we think the fox uses it when jumping fences) but they got trashed. I tried single sheet polycarbonate but it fared no better. I've just acquired some 4mm twinwall and will use that instead (when I figure out how best to mount it on the frame).

Re: Weather
Sounds like a challenge Tony
Not cold down here but showers on and off all day with more persistent rain this afternoon. Managed to get a bit more pressure washing done so about half way through now, just want to get it finished as the old back doesn't appreciate the job
Have a great evening all

But today, once more, is not a mower day. Constant drizzle. And so I got soaked when rigging steps and unlocking oil tank for today's delivery. Off to Bath for weekend so did the annual protection of rubber seals and general lubrication yesterday
Do bear in mind that Bath has a clean air zone. https://www.gov.uk/clean-air-zones
That aside, have a great weekend in our beautiful city. Current weather forecast not too bad!

We'll be at the Marina, and - approaching from the West - I believe that the entrance is just outside the zone. When we stayed there last all was well; we don't move the van, but walk in (or cycle) or take the bus (albeit that our Wales-issued bus passes are not accepted!). Looking forward to returning.

Re: Weather
Morning all. The Met forecast for today says it will get up to 10°c but with wind chill will feel like .......-1°c Pretty irrelevant as it will be raining for most of the day so the pavement to retrieve our wheelie bins is as far as I intend to venture.
Take it easy.

Re: Weather
Chucked it down all night again and stopped around dawn, sunny now and 12° rising to 15. Rain again this afternoon, seems to be the norm. Warm night forecast as well , only dropping to 12 tonight. Good weekend forecast apart from high winds.

Re: Weather
A mixed day so far here. Chucked it down during the night, dry during breakfast , cold breeze and rain during our walk. When we went across to Lidl it was drying up and the breeze had eased off and the sun is out whilst we are having lunch.
I am sure there is an odd job lurking some were in the house but I think some workshop time would do me more good. If it’s only a bit of thinking time we all need to switch off occasionally.

Dry for the early shop and managed to get some grass cutting this morning.
Forecast not looking good for later today so everything outside put away or tied down

Re: Weather
Van all packed ready for first trip of the year for six days in Northumberland at start of incoming week. Before that currently in very nice hotel near East Kilbride for niece's wedding today, kilt hanging up ready to go later today ( with extension straps fitted to allow for kilt shrinkage sine I got it 45 years ago)
Weather much better than early forecasts suggested, mild dry sunny but bit of a breeze forecast. Hope not to have a Marilyn Monroe moment with kilt.

Re: Weather
Enjoy your trip BB and hope all goes well with the wedding, think I could guess which hotel you are in (regular wedding venue). Yes, it seems very calm this morning but I suspect this will change as the winds ramp up. Now talking of 15°c today with the possibility of some blustery showers.

Re: Weather
A dry and bright but breezy start here. So far no sign of the next storm thats forecast for this weekend. If it’s from the SW we will be sheltered from the worst of it but the fresh blossom on next doors tree will be scattered up the street. It always gives us a nice start to the spring but dosnt last long if the wind picks up.

Dry, cloudy, quite warm with good breeze. Only half normal amount of stalls at market today, maybe keeping away of expected storm.

Re: Weather
After lovely sunshine from around 12 to 4 with a breeze, weather changed to strong wind with pouring rain. Stopped now but cloudy and dull.
Update - wind has gone elsewhere but rain is now hammering down, will need hammer to make an ark.

Morning all,
7 degrees and sunny. Showers forecast for the afternoon. Wee trip to the local farmers market this morning then time to fix the laminate on the toilet door in the van as I noticed it had started to come off...
Take care.

Re: Weather
Good news on the greenhouse Boaby, can't beat tomatoes right off the vine. Hope the heads ok this morning BB . More high winds forecast for today but hopefully warmer and drier than yesterday so at least we can get some washing out to dry. 14°c is the forecast high so we'll see.
