Re: Weather
Away in the van for weekend and it's been a gorgeous day, except windy especially along sea front.

Re: Weather
Congratulations, as they say Pontius Pilot must have still been a first officer when you joined it was that long ago. Will google beaver Island..... flight went well by the way although a lot of turbulence and bums left seats frequently.... maybe not helped by 11 and 13 year olds flying the thing.
Back to the weather now..... it is a lovely evening!

Re: Weather
The rain stopped by tea time yesterday and it’s dry so far this morning. We are thinking of stopping at Whitby on our way to the pub for lunch. I am not sure what muttly will make of the steps down to the old town but there is the lane at the side that might make it a bit easier.

Re: Weather
Bit damp today but heading home so who cares. Think we've been pretty lucky with the weather over the last week or so with another BBQ in lovely sunshine last night to finish our break.

Re: Weather
Glad it went well Tony and the weather was decent. Cloudy and a few spots of rain here this morning but like Paul wind has ramped up a lot so feels quite a lot colder although it is 12 degrees outside.
Couple of lawnmowers and a chainsaw that refuse to start so maybe a good opportunity to take a look see what can be done. Gradually switching al power tools from gas to electric, chainsaw is next to be switched to a DEWalt one.
Have a great day all

Dry with a chilly breeze at dawn! Lovely sunrise without any cloud cover.
Enjoy your holidays lads, watch out for the gulls in Whitby Dave, they love fish suppers.

Not so here I am afraid, been a right miserable one and hasn't stopped raining for more than about 5 minutes all day!burlingtonboaby wrote:Stayed nice and sunny throughout the day, cooler wind of the sea at 12 degrees

After a wet night it seems to have dried up a bit. Overcast and 8 degrees. No rain forecast and temp to go up to the mid teens later..

Re: Weather
Got packed up between showers yesterday so that was a bit lucky. Forecast is for rain here this morning and cloudy but dry this afternoon. Still on the cool side at 11°c. Back in the old routine so out for coffee with my brother this morning. Got a nice letter from my bank telling me our local branch (about 8 miles away) is closing but not to worry If we need to give an address for them we've to use one which is about 15 miles away. I wonder what folk have to do to open an account these days?

Re: Weather
A nice sunny and so far dry start here in North Yorkshire. I think we mis judged the weather forecast because we have both packed our heavier walking trousers. The planned outing is more of a stroll than a serious walk so jeans and trainers will ok. No matter what it looks like we are taking our jackets.

Rained overnight again but dry now but wind is getting worse. 11° rising to 17. Heading home today where the forecast is much the same.

Re: Weather
Would love to say it is a nice morning down here in the far SW, but, it isn't! 10 degrees and raining, on the plus side the wind has dropped. Indoor day but end of the month accounting day, always look forward to that, so that will keep me out of mischief for a while.
Safe journey home everyone heading back from vacation.

Re: Weather
Just waiting for the next front to arrive. The wind is gusting already.
I see that by this date last year I had already switched off the central heating. No way this year!
As it’s the month end, I’ve got the usual desk job of
Backing up computer to external drives. Am a bit paranoid - I copy to drives held both locally (in garage, away from house) and remotely (commercial). So takes an hour or so. So don’t mind too much that it’s raining.
Forecast has some rain on every day until 9th May but then it’s rumoured that the sun will shine; the temperature will be 20; and the pigs will be flying overhead!!

Have a nice evening .

Re: Weather
Good drive home, but extremely windy on M6 but much quieter traffic than expected. Dry all way home with only a glimpse of blue sky . Got home to the sounds of sirens , both police and fire and then sounds of small explosions. Local chemical factory causing panic, told to keep windows and doors closed and to stay indoors. Factory produces formaldehyde.

Got the holiday washing dried outside yesterday after the rain passed through at lunchtime. Much better day with broken cloud and some sunshine and a high of 17°c later. My wife has been ordering stuff for the various repairs required outside so I'm going to be busy.
