Re: Weather
I am not sure what constitutes a storm requiring a name but we have had a battering today. The wind and rain coming from the north seems darned cold.
The hanging baskets have come down again. Because of the direction of the wind the one by the workshop window was swinging across it. Not good planning putting it there but it’s in view of the kitchen window and looks nice in the summer.

Just watching the caravan getting blown over on the news, thank goodness we get different weather in Scotland Should be a decent day with no rain forecast and lighter winds. Busy day ahead with one thing or another.

Re: Weather
Looked OK first thing, then 1/2 hr ago, it got dark and a horrendous rain and hail storm hit us, only lasted a few mins then back to what currently passes for normal now. Must have been a big cell above us to have that much energy...
Gonna be ok for all of us by the weekend, allegedly!

It’s still cold and damp start here. I don’t feel as achy this morning but a quiet day won’t do any harm. Our son will probably appear this afternoon, he works weekends. He will no doubt raid our fridge and cupboards.

Re: Weather
Stiff breeze and a few spots of rain, feels much colder than yesterday.
My stripey badger friends are back digging again in earnest, trying to dig out the new fences and causing loads of damage to the lawns. As much as I love nature this is getting a right pain now.
Have a great day all, I am on damage repair until tomorrow when doubtless I will be doing it all again🦡

Re: Weather
Glorious day here yesterday, dry with light winds and it got up to 16°c. Should stay dry today but stronger winds will knock temperatures back down to nearer 10°c. Might get away at the weekend so need to do all the usual pre-trip sorting.

Re: Weather
Mainly dry yesterday but we had hail for a few minutes in the afternoon, dry after that until around 11pm when we had yet another deluge.
Sun shine again this morning, temps forecast to only 9°.

Re: Weather
A lovely bright start but the breeze is still chilly. As long as it’s drier I can wrap up for the cold but the damp really gets to me in these later years.
Management is plotting a domestic warfare job for me today. We have a wonky toilet seat that she wants fixing. Telling her to sit still didn’t get me out of that job. Hopefully it’s just a matter of tightening the hinge mountings but every job in that bathroom to date has caused me agro. This is probably why plumbers charge so much.

Morning all,
Fresh this morning, 7 degrees and overcast. Possibility of rain later this afternoon. Hopefully once the boss has been to see her consultant today we'll have a better idea of what is happening and can start to plan some trips away.
Take care.

Better here but still v cold, however the wind is changing from N to NW showing that the big high is getting closer, for all of course, but especially in time for it to be static in time for our trip to Ireland!!

Took the van for a run this morning, forgot what a great drive it is.Lost our local radio station Pirate FM yesterday now called hits radio, nowhere like the same, so much so the radio in the van stopped working in protest, hopefully just a fuse.
Managed to get some grass cutting done too whilst it is dry, rain forecast for later in the day, sunny for now.
Enjoy your travels everyone.
Have a great day all
ps plenty of motorhomes around down here all shapes and sizes.

Morning all,
After a sunny if rather chilly day yesterday we are back to overcast with rain forecast. 2 degrees just now and it isn't supposed to get much warmer.

Beautiful sunny morning forecast to stay all day, 10 degrees at the moment. Outside hedge cutting this morning then siesta after lunch in the yard if it is still warm enough.

Re: Weather
A dry but mixed day here. It was nice and bright for our walk but the chilly wind has come back and it was overcast by lunch time.
The new toilet seat was ready for collection so we called in to Subway for a lunch butty and coffee en route. Management wanted to go to Dunelm Mill whilst we were out. The road works traffic jams are getting silly here. Two lots of road works blending into one big hold up not helped by a bridge being refurbished for a year.
The toilet seat is fitted. It’s been a while since I have had to kneel in front of a toilet. Typically just as I finished the pharmacy sent a text for management to pick up her prescription.
No matter I got some of those stick on hooks for the van. There were two in there when we bought the van. One at the back I hang keys on and one at the front for the pot towel. It’s surprising how much you miss something but when the back one fell off last trip I couldn’t find a good place to put the keys.
I had to spend all of £3 .50 for six new hooks. All I needed was a new sticky pad. Can you buy new sticky pads without the hooks.

Managed to get through the morning without an April shower but it changed around 2pm, with a light shower but it's gone more persistent now. Pretty cold feel at 10°.

Morning all,
Bright and dry this morning with a temperature of 7 degrees. No rain forecast today and the temperature should get into double figures. Grass is still a bit too wet for a proper cut but think I might give it a quick strim if it stays dry.
Take care.
