Re: Weather
Not a great prospect today, says the Met Office: 90% chance of heavy rain until 18:00; then 3 hours of fog, followed by light rain, and then drizzle to take us up to midnight! Maybe when we lived on the edge of the Sahara, in Northern Nigeria, wasn't so bad after all!

Re: Weather
It started a nice bright and dry day but after lunch we had a shower and the chilly breeze has come back. We had the radiator in the sitting room turned off but it’s back on tonight. It’s going to be a chilly evening walk so muttly won’t mess about and won’t want to go far.

Re: Weather
All the vans were rocking, but just due to the strong winds hitting the site overnight, felt like we were at sea for a couple of hours and management woke me to complain she couldn't sleep due to van movement.
Milder dry and breezy this morning. May be shorts later on

Re: Weather
We are in SW Scotland, have been since Monday, and weathers been abysmal. With knackered water pump and no-one having one I need, we've cut trip short and heading home. We were in Ayr and Troon yesterday and at Troon waves were crashing over sea wall.
Maybe we'll try again September.

Re: Weather
Sorry that you have had to cut short your trip, Paul. The combination of dire weather and no water pump is surely miserable. Hope you can fix the pump soon.
Meanwhile the drizzle continues down here, together with hill fog. Really feels like November. Where's Spring? Just the day to go to the dentist - to compound the misery!

Re: Weather
A bright start to the day and it feels warmer than last night. Management is starting to do green house things in pots. I believe lettuce are amongst them. The strawberries and tomatoes are showing signs of life so hopefully nice fresh salads and puddings later if the squirrels and dicky birds don’t get in first.
I have started a major chuck out or re locate in the shed and workshop. Some things have gone next door for him to use during his fire engine restoration. I knew there were some air lines in there but there is enough to go round the block. Four cans of Waxoil, two Jerry cans, two twelve tone axle stands. A box of assorted unmarked Landrover bits. Several boxes full of imperial nuts and bolts. I think there will be a trip to the dump because the trailer has more junk already stored in it.
My aim is to have the workshop with no junk and the can’t throw out stuff in the shed leaving room for managements potting table and garden tools. This is the trouble that starts when we are not away on our travels.

Come on Paul, one minute you're complaining about no water then there's too much
The weather was pretty nasty yesterday, pity because it's much better today.

Re: Weather
Sorry to hear about the trip Paul.
We have hot water back in the house now, plumber was really good and didn't try to rip us off.
Back to pressure washing this morning, broken the back of it now and my back is not much better!
Few very light showers this morning and sun peaking through now so siesta time beckons.
Chicken and bacon pie for lunch one of my favourites.
Have a great day all

Still nice evening here.....
Only buy sparkling water as I have to drink quite a lot of it. In van ideal as when boiled it is exactly the same once boiled as plain would have been....

Here the water is a solution of H20 and calcium! Mostly calcium I suspect!
The only car colour to buy is silver so when you wash it the grey/whitish spots don't show!
My window cleaning guy uses purified water to 1 part per million. It starts of at 4 to 500 parts per million!

Boaby, watched the Andi Oliver programme about Bridlington last night, did you get a Lobster piece
Lovely day yesterday if a little on the cool side. Warmer today at 15°c later but there's a high chance of rain right through and for much of the weekend.
Take it easy.

Re: Weather
Hopefully the bright start will hold for this morning because we are having a run to the tip, sorry recycling centre.
I emptied the trailer yesterday and pilled up the junk from the shed. Because things were shut during the pandemic I put some junk in the trailer and forgot it. It was shock to see how much has accumulated in there.
In case people wondered why we don’t take the trailer instead of emptying it. The last time it was used was when we moved house with my workshop equipment in it. The only tow bar we have now is on the Rienza and it seems a bit excessive for a tip run.

Re: Weather
Lovely start for the early shop, high tide so river which is about 250 yards from the house is nearly bursting it's banks, pretty though.
Seems to be quite a lot of emmets about, old gatehouse to where we live is a holiday rental now and has been taken the last couple of weeks, £650 for four nights and it isn't all that, give me a French aire for a few euros any day.
Forecast looks good for next few days so big push to get outside work back on track after all the rain.
Have a great day all

Re: Weather
Cloudy but dry now, windy and wet weather on the way before lunchtime. 13°c but the temperature is due to drop by several degrees when the wind picks up. Lost several more of my cassette tapes to rot, despite being properly stored. I need to check if either CD replacements are available (I know some aren't) or can be downloaded.
