Re: Weather
Yes, dullsville this morning and a high of 6°c but the wind will keep things feeling colder than that. After all yesterday's rain its at least going to be a dry day. I found a never used gadget I bought years ago which converts Compact Cassettes into digital music (I still have all my original LPs and CCs ). Took a bit of figuring out and it was going well until I discovered a lot of the CCs have not survived in pristine condition (knackered). Nothing seems to be made to last these days, they are only 40 or 50 years old

Re: Weather
The wind has eased here and it’s brighter. Even if it’s just a short trip it always feel we should be staying out and venturing further afield but needs must.
Once breakfast is sorted we will pack up and take muttly for a last walk on the beach. He will no doubt sleep most of the way home.

Up to 11° today, bright sunny start but rain forecast again this afternoon . Gas combi boiler had its operation yesterday, recovered well and working as it should.

Very pleasant here today after a chilly start.
This, of course, meant the weather was perfect for the MH polishing I've been putting off for too long! 50% or so done now!

Re: Weather
After me and muttly has a nice meander along the beach a surprise visitor called to say goodby before we left Norfolk. Perfectly timed as management had just finished in the shower. Finding her shoes was another matter. It’s turned out to be a lovely dry and bright drive home. We came back a bit of a convoluted route trying to avoid traffic and roadworks. Even on the main roads it seemed quiet. Unfortunately when we got within site of home the road was closed. Rather than weaving through the back streets we came into town.
The weather can do what it likes for a few weeks before our next planned trip.

Re: Weather
Morning all. Stinking wet, windy and cold day ahead with a notional high of 7°c but it will feel much colder than that. We had planned a trip out for lunch but I suspect that won't happen now. Plenty to keep me busy indoors.
Take care folks.

Re: Weather
10 degrees here, sun is really warm on the rare occasions it is making an appearance in between the heavy showers, and they are heavy showers! Not looking very promising for getting outside, pressure washing was bought to a halt when Mr Wilkes packed up, think it is a fuel issue so will get fresh fuel today and try again.
Fence is all finished and paid for so that is one less thing, planning all the jobs now to get everything done by end April to start van polishing in May ready for June departure to Europe! Weather isn't helping a lot.
Have a great day all

Windy but dry here in the Far East. Sunny too
Being in lazy mode, that's a bit of a nuisance as no excuses not to do the remaining 60% of van polishing!!

Re: Weather
A lovely bright but breezy day here. I have been to my appointment with the nice nurse lady. She was certainly slick. Compared to the usual faffing by the GP she didn’t give me time to think about being stabbed and bloods taken. My blood pressure should have been high after a lady tried to reverse into the parking space I was already in. I know it’s only a little Fiesta but the bays are for one car not an SUV and a small car.
After seeing Ian yesterday reminded me the van needs washing and polishing but if he hasn’t finished his I have got time.

Re: Weather
Mine now done, got everything out ready, it rained!!!
Thankfully only a shower and an hour later all fine again.
Only the cab left to do now....
Nice and sunny here now still breezy though and too warm for a fleece..
On the monocoques there are horizontal grooves, these love collecting dirt. A bit of a sod to clean. So after a minor brainwave, used a toothbrush with the polish on it. Worked a treat. A word of warning though, be sure to use the wife's toothbrush!!!!

Re: Weather
My plans for a day at home were a but off the mark, the boss wanted some material from a place which just happens to have a shoe shop next door and sn M&S a few doors along It really felt like a winters day out with a bitterly cold wind and sleety rain. More rain today but marginally warmer at 9°c. Food shopping this morning, wonder if there are any Easter eggs left in the shops

OK I give up, what are brocs or is auto correct playing games!
Rain here one minute then sunny the next, supposedly 10 degrees but doesn't feel that way.
Off to Lidl according to management to get some plants so I am told, at the same time will get some fresh fuel for Mr Wilkes, if he is feeling compliant back to pressure washing, if not he is off to the service centre.
Looks like quite a good covering of snow in parts of Devon, they can keep it!
Have a great day all

Re: Weather
Torrential rain through the night , path around house two inches deep in water. Sun out now , temp only 7° rising only to 8 later.
Shopping at Lidl this morning. Went to Tesco yesterday (Lidl don't sell everything), veg at 15p again , like Christmas, full size bags of potatoes, onions and carrots all at 15p. Apparently Asda have carrots, broccoli and green beans at 15p. So everyone will stock up because its cheaper to buy a big bag than a small bag and then loads will be thrown away.
We will see what Lidl are doing to compete.

Wet last night but it's cleared up this morning. Bit warmer at 6 degrees and bright and sunny. Forecast to stay like this for most of the day.
Spoke to soon, 10 minutes later and there's heavyish rain....

Re: Weather
As it is bright and dry day I made the effort to get the van roof washed after our walk. My small car wash brush is knackered so I ordered one. The long handled brush that I repaired lasted two minits and the plastic handle bit snapped off.
I have put this job off for far too long so I managed with what I have. Another silly thing that came to light regarding the new hose. It is a lot heavier than the old one so it disappeared and slid of the roof when I let go of it.
The muck was the worse I have ever seen it. Black grit, green algae and sand. The solar panel output will be double now. I rinsed the worst of the yuk off the bodywork but washing and polishing can wait until my joints have recovered.
Just as I finished our son appeared offering to get us butties from the cake shop for lunch. He has offered come back and help with polishing.

Morning all,
Another damp start to the morning and chilly at 4 degrees. Forecast is for a sun and showers day. Busy day today, trip to the vet with the hound to get a tooth removed, new suite coming around mid-day and shopping after that.
Take care all.
