Your correct Dave, Keelby it is. Or should I say, it was.Dave 418 wrote:Management has threatened me with a bib after a chocolate eclair lost its filling down my front this afternoon. If was her idea of a treat for afternoon tea after shopping today.
Not sure about you’re spelling Boaby but do you mean Keelby. If so you’re on the wrong side of the bridge.

Clear start but a heavy overnight frost has given everything an icy white coat. All downhill from here with gales and snow forecast for the next few days.
Passed our tests yesterday (not been able to say that for a few years ) so we're doing the shopping today. Man's (and woman's) got to eat

Yet another nice sunny morning but it wont last, rain coming later. Now 8 degrees so no need for a simmit here (had to google it!). Good to hear the results were clear Tony.

Re: Weather
It was certainly a bit keen this morning. Not as breezy but still cold. Our crazy bin people are wearing high vis shorts this morning. I say bin people because we now have a bin lady. She stopped to talk to muttly but he didnt like the noisy bin truck so stayed behind me with his tail slowing wagging.
Maybe the bin lady will put our bin on the pavement instead of dumping it in the road in front of the car.
Decorating and isolation starts today. I think we have enough food but if we need any more decorating stuff its going to have to wait until Monday afternoon.

No rain but very, very windy right through the night. Bit of frost this morning and a clear sky but it won't last long. Nothing planned for the weekend so we'll sit tight until the storm passes.

Back from the Sainsbury's shop, very windy but dry so far although it looks like the tap will be turned on sometime soon. Only a handful of geese down by the river today, there were about 50 the other day guess they have just moved on.

Re: Weather
Absolutely thrown it down here from around 5 till 9 including hail which covered lawn in less than a minute. Bins blown over . Was due to have tyres fitted today but the tyre guys have to work outside since the pandemic as their unit is only big enough for a small car but has a screen and counter across it now, so rather than the guys freezing and getting soaked, I've put it off till Monday.

Maxxis MVC3+ van tyres , rated C for economy and A for wet grip and 71db noise. Michelin Camper are C, B and 72db. Saving £200 against Campers. Time will tell if wise decision .
Still raining on and off here with occasional hail, very windy.

Re: Weather
Just back from collecting WXL, slightly delayed as had to fit in extra appointment for my daughter who drove me to the dealers, 25 miles from home. Van was empty for hab check so lighter than usual, and got thrown about a bit with the wind. Almost felt sea sick on one stretch of open road. Also had snow to contend with, falling heavily but not lying on roads but starting to lie on fields.
Safely home but now waiting for all hell to break loose as we are on the edge of the red weather warning.

Can't help laughing at TV news. There is a red "risk to life" warning on the Scottish east coast so what do they do, send reporters and supports staff out to where the weather is at it worst . "How is it out there" they ask. "Worst I've ever experienced" is the reply.
Oh really?

This mornings muttly walk was cold but bright. Tonight it’s a lazy wind that goes right through you and it’s drizzling.
Management had to catch muttly to dry him when we got home. He has had a confusing day with the decorating disruption so being attacked by a mad person wielding a towel was the last straw.

Re: Weather
Light dusting of snow this morning, feels still when compared to overnight storm. Still gusting about 50mph according to reports. Lots of roads blocked overnight with fallen trees. Nearest is a cul de sac about 300 yards from us, no vehicle or foot access or exit when I was out a few minutes ago.
Other than all our bins on their sides can't see any damage to my property.
Stay safe folks.

Re: Weather
What a night! Amazed to see no rear garden damage but a row of four fence panels, between our bungalow and next doors at the front along our drive, are down. All five posts snapped off at the base. Luckily the swinging of the panels back and forth kept our security light switching on and off every five seconds and made me look outside at 11pm. That made me move the car back out of the way.
I'm going outside now to pick up the recycling strewn all over the side path and patio.
