Still sunny here though strong wind, put the turkey carcass out last night totally gone now so not sure what had that. Plenty of little fellas on the sunflower hearts know what most of them are but not all!

Turned out bright and sunny from late morning, very pleasant. The hordes of sparrows have reappeared, wonder where they have been hiding?

No wind,frost or fret/har, ,could be a good day ahead, Mavis sponging with foxes howling in the back ground.
Nice walk out with Tag,makes change from walking through thick fog.

Had to defrost the car last night at 6pm when I had to nip out, no sign of frost this morning but looks like rain on the way.

Windy wet and dismal morning still very mild though. Winter has to get here soon surely.
Never tried irn bru Boaby would have to Google it to see what it is. Pretty good on whiskey doesn't affect me much but two pints of beer and I am gone.

9.15am and still struggling to get light. Dull and wet morning with more rain on the forecast, we may have a trip out as the boss needs some things from my least favourite shop, The Range. Can't lose the feeling that it's an expensive shop pretending to be a cheap one

Rain has stopped now and glimmer of sun all may not be lost. Lady G and I just made a sherry trifle may have slipped a bit putting in the cognac.
Sitting here thinking about 2022 holidays and where to go next in Europe, has to be hot and sunny so maybe south of France ish!

Horrible wet weather with strong gusting winds, windscreen got hit by a falling branch from a tree but it seem there was no damage done.

The Range lived up to all my expectations, we visited two stores to find things advertised as in stock, out-of-stock. 

What a shower 

When we went out for our morning walk it was drizzling and a chilly wind. Half way back we met the little nasher dog, the other Romanian rescue. It was absolutely soaked and looked rather miffed. They both looked at each other heads down so we decided to keep going rather than stopping for a chat.
This afternoon it actually brightened up and there was a hint of blue sky. I don’t thing the yuk weather is quite over yet.

Damp mild night, light s/w breeze, rain forecast for dawn, brief walk out with Tag,Mavis singing again, Accompanied with wee Robins.

Dry and mild night, yesterday's winds have gone and now feels very still.

The rain over the last few days left lots of standing water on the roads, made for tricky driving conditions in some places. It's a dry and relatively mild morning with some showers on the way later. Shopping day, wonder if there are still a few bags of vegetables left in store 

Just been out to supermarket for food top up. Plenty fresh veg, some not so fresh looking. Whole unit of steak pies ready for New Year. Had a look and a well known brand had printed on the side "May have been previously frozen". Think I will stick to home made, or local butcher who do their own.

Milder than it was earlier. Feels spring like and very aware of dawn starting to get earlier again.

Raining hard first thing but dried up a little now, it is so warm though 15 degrees outside. Hardly used the heating so far this year and the thermals are still n the drawer.
Back to DIY today, removing some hardwood patio doors to create a new opening in to the sun lounge. No idea what is behind the frame so slow and steady will win the race!

Breezy but a lot brighter and I think warmer this morning. There was some blue sky coming through as we got home from our walk. 
As I mentioned elsewhere we are trying to get away second week in January so let’s hope this weather holds for a while. Having said that just being away will help because I think we are getting mildew being at home this long.

Another unseasonably mild night, light rain but no wind this morning. 

Wife has significant birthday in January and our daughters had arranged a surprise party for 15th. Given rise in Covid and the range of people invited sadly made decision yesterday to cancel. Everyone understands and supportive of decision. Hopefully can organise a celebratory BBQ later in the year.

14°c here this morning but wet, looks like it may dry up later. Shops were pretty depleted here yesterday, it seems they've struggled to get deliveries. Even Morrisons, which is usually ahead of the game, had vegetables that would have been very nice a couple of weeks ago. One whole stretch was filled with bananas to cover the empty fruit boxes. We got enough to get by though.

Happy birthday to the Wife for 15th BB, mine has one on the 9th not a special one though!
Back from the early shop, really mild at 14 degrees and hardly any breeze, quite damp in the air though.
Another year of facemasks and travel disruption draws to a close, let's hope 2022 sees an improvement and we can all travel with a bit of freedom again.

This was prepared at 9.00am this morning but technology defeated  me…didn’t press send…a training need here I suspect.



Well saying it very quietly the weather is on the up. The hour of heavy rain that was forecast has passed  with the promise of a bit of sun later and remaining dry. Just been to Sainsbury’ s for tonight’s curry. Will be off in an hour on a walk near Westerham. Is is a linear walk we know well. Lovely views and predominately level ish. But the best part is at one end is a pub and the other a pub and tea rooms. Decisions decisions…the agony of choice.

Oh and Happy New Year…..it can’t be as bad as this year but I recall saying something similar at the end of last year! Hey ho…..

An update: we went to a restaurant for lunch, the sun shone at 2.00 pm for an hour and half the walk was in clinging, sapping mud.

You could tell it was warmer this morning because two guys were washing there cars as we walked through the yard  this morning. Also I only needed my fleece to walk over to Lidl for a few bits of shopping. I can’t see it lasting until we go away in a couple of weeks because from past the weather gets worse in February for my birthday. 
I will have to get muttly out before the fireworks start tonight. He wasn’t too happy at bonfire time.
