Re: Weather
After the hot day yesterday I was led to believe it was going to be the same today but it’s a been cooler and it’s now overcast. I feel there might be thunder on its way tonight.
I bought more wood for the shed repairs but the repairs can hold off until I get the urge to carry on. The workshop repairs were more urgent but the shed is a junk store and managements potting bench.

Never got really hot here yesterday but it was pleasant enough. Little change today with a high of 21°c but staying dry. Our local recycling centres are introducing an appointment system because they get occasional queues, overkill if you ask me. Coupled with the council increasing charges for the collection of large unwanted items and stopping the collection of garden waste, I reckon it will only increase the possibility of illegal dumping

Re: Weather
Our council has closed recycling centres 2 days a week, garden rubbish (paid for service) gets later and later and sometimes never and general waste only to be collected every 3 weeks instead of 2. As you say fly-tipping will only get worse.
Back to weather, in Whitby now, yesterday was 21 with welcome breeze, today not so bright yet but should be much the same.

Nice day here, both ways to / from my eye hospital, as I got so many kind thoughts yesterday I've decided to write a wee report re the whole pro, mostly for those either needing to get it done or those concerned about doing so. As a hint, all good so far.
Looking fwd to the possible thunderstorms tomorrow as a final test, one hopes, of my window reseal!

Sweltering hot 26 in the shade but that muggy hot unusual for down here. Viewing on the house tomorrow so mowing, blowing and strimming but not really the day for it.
Hope the op continues well Ian, have fun all those on tour.

Re: Weather
Another nice warm day out of the breeze. Whilst management was having her wig trimmed I made up the repair panel for the lower side of the shed. It was quite pleasant in the garden early morning before the sun got to the back of the house.
The garden waste bin was emptied on Tuesday but is now full again after we attacked the ivy on the fence panels.
Management chopped it off at the floor earlier this year so it came away quite easily. As much as ivy looks nice it’s amazing how it takes over so quickly.

Don't know if it was the heat reflecting off the paving but temperature hit 28 in the shade this afternoon. One more lawn to mow just waiting for it to cool down a bit more, hintbofva breeze now and some cloud so should be a goer.

Re: Weather
Glad your op went well Ian, few days of diligent eye care will see you right.
Another nice day here, got grass cut and outside tidied up in preparation for next short trip away to North West England starting tomorrow. Want to visit the latest RHS gardens at Salford. Driving down to Lakes first in convoy with management following me in daughter's car. It is being delivered to daughter at Oxenholme station when she returns by train from a few days in London and goes on to be part of team running Scout and Guiding camp at Westmorland Showground at weekend. Car is full of camping gear.

Re: Weather
One of the reasons I give Tag a good long walk around dawn before the sun heats up the blacktop. Fortunately we have enough grassy areas and trees to give him a wee donder during the day.groundhog wrote:Don't know if it was the heat reflecting off the paving but temperature hit 28 in the shade this afternoon. Hope you property sale goes well.
Still warm here at 22 degrees and dry, heavy rain forecasted overnight .

Re: Weather
Please leave the Lakes tidy when you move on BB, we're heading there early next week . We watched the programmes on the creation of the Salford gardens a couple of years ago, very impressive.
Dull and overcast this morning with some rain but it should improve as the day goes on. The temperatures should go up to 21°c later with a bit more sun. Shopping day again, it seems like it was just yesterday we did it last

Re: Weather
The thunder didn’t appear last night but it’s overcast and warm this morning so maybe we will miss it this time.
After yesterdays gardening etc I would be glad of an excuse to give it a rest today. We could do with going to get a replacement gas bottle ready for our trip next week. Whilst we are out we might find somewhere for lunch.

Chucking it down for several hours now in Whitby and at least another couple of hours of it. Temp is 17 rising to 21 this afternoon. We move on today to Horncastle to visit a cousin , not a great day for travelling, if we can get off this field without too much trouble!

Another hot and sunny start, viewers arrive in about 30 minutes so we are banished to the van whilst the agent does his thing.
Forecast is staying hot so great for the holidaymakers.

Re: Weather
Some rain overnight which I didn't expect, dull warm and muggie but not bad for travelling. Roadworks on Friarton bridge regularly causing 40 minutes delays southbound so might set off on A94 to Perth so at least we keep moving.
Only fleeting visit to Lakes this time Tony, less than 24 hours so should leave in fine fettle for you.

Morning Boaby, hope the MoT went OK. Dull and overcast here with high chance of rain all day. Still warm though with a high of 21°c later. Got some shopping to do and some organising of stuff at home later so busy day ahead.

Re: Weather
Even though there was light rain for our morning walk yesterday freshening things up a bit I woke early hours this morning feeling stuffy and bunged up. Putting the fan on helped allowing me get back to sleep.
Hopefully our couple of days away on the North Yorkshire moors will give us some fresh air. This reminds me I need to get a replacement gas bottle today after our walk.

Re: Weather
Good news about the van Boaby, 17000 miles not even run in yet!
Been sunny most of the day but cloud increased this evening ad it is now humid and a few spots of rain, in all honesty could do with a bit of a shower to freshen things up.
Have a great evening all.

We awoke to fog in Horncastle this morning, temp was 18 first thing , sun burnt off the fog and then rose to 27 this afternoon. Had a lovely lunch and afternoon natter with cousin and his wife, very humid now, sky clouded over.

Re: Weather
It was cooler at bed time so we didn’t bother putting the fan on. Early hours I woke with back pain and cramp in my legs. It was sticky and hot so I put the fan on. Even though it took a while I managed get back to sleep.
After last night there’s no way I am doing anything silly today. The full gas bottle needs to be put in the locker but it might have to wait. We are not away until Wednesday.
