Re: Weather
Grey day here as well, 9° rising to 10/11 , seems to be the same forecast all week. Just had lawn cut for last time this year. Not much planned, just get van ready for last trip of year at end of week (only 2 nights ).

Re: Weather
The breakfast had an interesting outcome. I had the buffet breakfast and management had eggs Benedict. When hers was served the sauce was cold . Not one to complain but it that wasn’t right. When I mentioned this to the waitress she took it back.
A lady with a badge saying team manager came across and offered us a refund on our meal. I could have made a fuss and put comments on trip adviser etc but as long as we got free breakfast that was ok with us.

Morning folks,
Bit cooler this morning, only 8 degrees but it's dry with light cloud cover which should clear up later in the day.

8C here as well, grey, overcast and very light drizzle
Got extra blue recycling bin last week so now need charts on wall to remind me what goes in which of the five bins we now have, and which day they need to be put out for emptying..must be out by 7am and taken back in immediately after emptying. New blue bins have lids that don't close properly, council says they are fine. Blue is for paper and cardboard so look forward to 1. Paper blowing all over the place on first real windy day and 2. Council report saying paper recycling lower than expected because high proportion of bins filled with rain water and they can't recycle wet paper.

Re: Weather
Another grey overcast day but a little warmer. I hoped it was going to be wet to reduce the barrage of fireworks tonight. No matter we will have a later walk when it’s calmed down.
We had three open topped boxes originally. The paper used to blow out of the box so wheelie bins seemed a good idea. Now we have four wheelie bins that don’t fit down the side of the van so they are parked in the front garden.
I have marked the calendar with different colored pens as a reminder of what to put out each week.

Re: Weather
Another overcast but warmer day whilst the breeze holds off. Another day of waiting for parcels. Considering daughter is away on her cruise she is still ordering things. When we fed her fishes on Monday there was a parcel waiting for her.
As I mentioned elsewhere there is still a strong smell of burnt rubber left over from last night. If the weather changes it might clear the smell.

Re: Weather
Cool morning, 9C earlier on grey and dry. Forecast cloudy all day.
Garage door man came as promised, fitted new controller, nothing happened. Then fitted new controller and new motor unit, everything worked fine. Said he has never known both go at the same time. Just my luck. Four figure repair bill but good to have it all working again.

Re: Weather
Another overcast day but dry enough for a day out with our son whilst management is away at her friends.
Yesterday became challenging after feeding the fishes. I have been putting off cutting a hawthorn tree down to fence hight. A local tree surgeon quoted £400 but next door offered to do it if I sorted the waste.
At about half ten he said as long as it stays dry let’s tackle the tree. It’s done and half the waste is logs or chipped using his wood chipping machine. He has left his machine so I can tackle the rest of the smaller branches. The chips can go in a builders bag until the garden waste bin is emptied every fortnight. The logs can go to the tip.
After yesterday I am going to Lincoln for a wander round. Our son has found some historic walks we tried to do before but it was terrible weather.

Re: Weather
Yet another overcast but dry day here so hopefully I can get the rest of the shredding done after I have had a trip to Screwfix to pick up anothers builders sack for the shredded remains.
The garden certainly looks different without that tree. I hope our resident Robin has found another home. He was watching us cutting the tree down.

Re: Weather
It’s certainly been a chilly grey day but it stayed dry to enable to clear up the mess in the garden. Our son appeared unplanned and offered to help.
We now have two piles of green stuff that won’t shred, two one tonne builders bags of shredded bits and a stack of small logs. The logs might go to next door’s friend the rest we will put in brown bin every fortnight.
Daughter is home tomorrow so no more fish feeding and the workshop doorway is clear so back in there tomorrow.

7C and drizzle, getting colder as week goes on. Management off for a County wide Guiding trip for ride on steam train at Caledonian Railway, think I will have quiet time indoors with a book and some music.

8° and dull again. Heading home today , that was probably last trip of the year, 64 nights away in total, much the same as previous years.

Re: Weather
It was good timing yesterday because its damp and grey this morning. Muttly was up and went for a mooch round the garden whilst I made breakfast. The Robin that is homeless now the tree is down was watching muttly so he hasn’t been scared off. He was watching us yesterday and following muttly round the garden.

No weather to speak of today either, that's a full week of colourless grey sky, dry and the same temperature every day...

Re: Weather
Dull and a bit cooler at 9 degrees. Ground was wet this morning so might have rained overnight.
Forecast is for it to brighten up for a couple of hours in the afternoon. Trip to the shops to fill up the freezer and then a feet up and TV day for the rest of the afternoon methinks.
