Re: Weather
Lots of significant lying water on the roads around us over the last couple of days. Next few days should be pretty dry but the payoff is a drop in temperatures, only getting up to 6°c today. Still, looks like decent walking weather so can't complain (too much )

Re: Weather
Mostly dry overnight, dry and cold for packing up the van. Six hour plus driving time today to home ( and rest breaks) M6, M74, A80, A9, A90. should be home between 7
and 8pm so unpacking can wait till tomorrow.
Forecast looks good for driving with minimal chance of rain and no winds.
Daughter picking van up on Tuesday for a few nights away. Likely these are last trips with overnight stops this year so will start stripping and deep cleaning inside next weekend.
Have a good day

High of 10° today, cloudy with fair chance of rain. Won't be going anywhere today, feeling very rough after Covid and Flu jabs yesterday, by bedtime last night we were both shivering, arms aching, head pounding etc.

Fear not, we both had all the jabs yesterday too and have suffered nothing more than slightly sore arms. Sorry to hear you’re suffering, Paul.
It’s a very still day today but overcast and chilly.

A bright but chilly start this morning. By the time I had filled the water tank my hands were cold and stiff. I think it’s getting towards glove wearing in the mornings.
One of muttlies friends, an old Jack Russel, was wearing a stripy jumper for her walk. Apparently it is home knit from left over wool. The guy with her said he hopes he dosnt get a jumper like that for Christmas.

Re: Weather
Had to defrost the car this morning to go shopping. Minus 1C. Similar forecast for tonight then 10C tomorrow night.
Good drive up from Shropshire yesterday. M6 busy until M55 takeout at Preston. Cruise control on from there until roadworks at Cairn Lodge services.
Turning van over for daughter going away in it tomorrow, sheets washed, floor hoovered etc. also need to replace broken headlight bulb. Bit of a pain as need to remove trim above and below headlight unit, and remove headlight unit. I like to replace both sides so will take an hour or two. Don't want to start until temperature warms up as don't fancy snapping plastic lugs.

Re: Weather
Clear sky and sunny but it's only 1°c just now, should rise to 11°c later. Last trip of the year for us in the van too, and guess what Paul, the first field we came to had 5 Highland cows in it :biggrin:Going to take advantage of the weather and get out for a walk.

Re: Weather
6° rising to 11 , sunny , no rain forecast.
Feeling much better today, although left arm still aching and slight headache. I never sleep in the afternoon, not even in a chair but yesterday afternoon I went back to bed and slept for 3 hours.
As for cows ' I don't believe it'.

Son and family took the van on Friday for few days in Skye. On arrival, discovered fresh water had been dumped during the journey. Yesterday, it was 8 ° during the day, and dry.

Would you believe that the last we saw up close were on Dartmoor, we had to stop as they were walking on the road.

Re: Weather
A lovely autumnal start to the day. Because the van was off the drive muttly decided he wasn’t going for a morning walk and stooped at the front door.
He really has got issues and has to process any changes. Once he could see the van he was happy to go for a walk before we set off on our travels.

Re: Weather
Morning all,
Chilly this morning at 4 degrees and dull and overcast. Forecast is for it to stay like this all day but the temp should creep up into double figures later on.
Alas, rain is forecast for tomorrow but it's supposed to be around the 10 degree mark all day - we shall see.
Take care if your out and about.

Re: Weather
Dull but dry so that's OK, not getting much more than 12°c either. Yes, rain tomorrow which will give us a great chance to do all the stuff that needs sorting the inside of the van. Today it could be another walk or a trip on the bus........the world is our Lobster

Re: Weather
Couple of very cold nights here since we got home, fortunately dump valve hasn't triggered either night and night time temperature to be up by 10 degrees tonight.
Changing headlight bulbs took under an hour including cleaning behind trim panels I had to remove. Much quicker when you know the process and don't need to keep looking at YouTube for next step. Quick run out before dawn and new bulbs are much brighter than last ones. Still halogen but beefed up claiming 150% brighter..not sure brighter than what but seemed good

Re: Weather
I had to check the dump valve before we set off on Sunday as there was ice on our windscreens, surprised it was still intact. Funny you should mention 150%, there was an ad recently for a gadget with a magnifying glass claiming images were 150% larger. Sounds impressive until you realise it's not even twice as big.
