Re: Weather
It looks like we got the tree down just in time. It’s a windy and wet start here enough to have probably fininshed the tree off.
Muttly looked out of the door at breakfast time and wobbled back into the sitting room. It will be a short damp walk I think.

Morning all,
Dry again after a wet night. Only 9 degrees but the forecast is for sun later in the day but the temp is only just going to get into double figures....

Re: Weather
Yesterday's rain started much earlier than forecast, it was light but relentless. Better day today, dry and a high of 13°c. Out to meet my brother for coffee and find out how uncomfortable he felt during his birthday celebrations, wish I had a photo when "happy birthday" was sung

Re: Weather
The wind and rain was supposed to have eased off today but it still seems fairly soggy out there. Management is going to her mates to help with decorating so I am having a day out with our son.
For a change we are getting the train to Lincoln. There are lots of places to visit so hopefully we won’t get too wet.

Re: Weather
We had a flood warning for our town yesterday which was to end 9pm last night, rain was supposed to ease around midnight, it did for a couple of hours but its chucking it down again now.

Re: Weather
Cancel my last. I only got to the end of the avenue with muttly and I was soaked. It’s only light rain but the breeze is making it unpleasant. By the time I get to the station I will be soaked again so we decided not to bother.
The heater is on in the workshop so that may be a better place to be on a day like this.

Re: Weather
7 C and dry sunny day forecast. Finally got van fridge repaired and working, looking forward to leaving it on automatic again for trip to Wales and Shropshire next week
Just been collating bills for van for this year, been a costly one. New PCB, 12v and 240v element for fridge, new Thule electric step, 2 front tyres, new front brakes, full service, mot and hab check. Total for year approx £2400, plus tax and insurance. On plus side we have been away 42 nights since March with another 8 coming up starting this Sunday. Hopefully next year cheaper!

Re: Weather
First dry night for ages. 12° rising to 15 today with slim chance of rain this morning, no prediction of rain this afternoon. It goes wrong again for the weekend.

Re: Weather
Hopefully the drizzle will ease off as per the forecast because I have more outdoor repairs to get on with. After sorting the bottom of the workshop wall the top under the eaves needs attention.
Originally I had planned the workshop to be brick built when we moved to this house but by the time we had the garden wall rebuilt we couldnt justify the cost. When I retired it was time to set up my workshop and a 8x10 purpose built wooden workshop seemed a good idea. Sadly after nine years it’s showing problems in the wet weather not helped by one side being constantly in shadow and taking ages to dry after rain.

Re: Weather
Quite a bright day and already up to 15°c, no rain expected today either. Heading out for lunch at a local farm shop, it's so popular that booking is necessary to get a cup of tea and a sausage sandwich

Re: Weather
It turned out to be a nice day once I started the repairs. The damage required a trip out for wood and new roofing felt so we had lunch on our way home. Not my normal choice but we called at Macdonalds. Not my favorite place but it filled a gap and the coffee is nice.
The wood repairs are done so if this dry spell holds out I will get the felt sorted tomorrow hopefully without falling off the roof. Maybe management will help and break my fall.

Re: Weather
Chilly last night and only 5 degrees this morning but the forecast is for sunshine with the temp getting up to about the same as yesterday.
Heading up to Dornoch for the weekend tomorrow so hopefully the weather will hold (don't mind it being chilly but can't be doing with that horrible wet stuff)

Re: Weather
Good luck with the trip Dave. Foggy this morning after a cold night but it should lift as the sun gets to work, might get up to 14°c later. That will be welcome to the folk in Braemar as it dropped to -4°c last night. Usual Thursday shopping trip for us today.

Another bright and dry day so once I drag Muttly out of the patch of sun in the front room I will get busy.

Re: Weather
It’s been a lovely day here with a slight breeze meaning we could get jobs done. As part of the garden update’s management wants a water butt to make use of the run off from the workshop roof.
After a trip to B&Q I suggested we had tea out for a change so we had a chippy tea overlooking the Humber. Nothing too exciting, A spam fritter and chips to share and a fish cake for herself with curry sauce washed down with dandelion and burdock.
It was a very pleasant change watching the boats in the evening sun.

Re: Weather
Sounds OK apart from the dandelion and burdock, can't stand the stuff. Dull and cool here this morning with light showers anytime over the day and a high of 13°c. More rain expected overnight and into tomorrow. I'm going no further today than the pavement to bring in the wheelie bins.

Re: Weather
We got some light rain yesterday but not much. Today we have a difference of opinion with forecasts, one says dry all day the other says showers They agree on the temperature though getting up to 15°c, it will stay cloudy too.

Just back from 5th annual singing trip to Menorca. But can’t grumble at Cardiff’s weather over the last few days: sunny, dry - permitting lawn mowing etc. Currently 9C but going up to 17. Just had 9th Covid jab: although I felt really rough after the 2 Moderna Spikevax jabs I’d previously had, this time no adverse reaction.
