Re: Weather
Really quite nice day here today, even took wifey's moped to Sheringham for some expensive (bl**dy expensive) polish.
Felt the odd drip on the way back but nothing really. Raining quite heavily now though...
Talking of drips, water drips as many will know, water is also called aqua, we got a new drip yesterday.... Aquarone!!!!!!

Re: Weather
Once again the forecasted showers never appeared but we got the van cleaned and re packed. Management decided to clean the carpets thinking the warmer weather should help them dry.
I took them out of the van and put them on the decking. Considering they were cleaned late last year the carpet cleaner had to be emptied twice. By tea time they were dry so they can go back in tomorrow.
Maybe I will get the van washed this weekend. The Seagull bombers in Devon used our bonnet as a target.

Re: Weather
It's a good job I have a calendar in my office, otherwise I'd never believe its July 6th today. Seriously heavy rain over night and tipping down now.
The good news is its forecast to stop at 5pm!!!!!

Re: Weather
It was dry enough to get some washing out yesterday but it was necessary to wrap up going into the garden because of how cold it was. It's a sunny start here and should stay like that until midafternoon when the rain will return. The high today is16°c but it still feels very cold.

Re: Weather
It looks like the weather people heard me because its caught up here and its chucking it down. Our walk was damp on the outward leg but coming back head into the breeze we both got soaked. Muttly was in an almighty sulk by the time we got back. Not good walking for a lazy old mutt or me .

Hard pic to take, still tipping down, but look closely and you'll see standing water puddles, this on gravel on top of sand....14c, 6July.

Re: Weather
Rain stopped by time we got to Dundee. Nice drive down, now set up in CMC Knaresborough, on check in were handed barrier card for last pitch on site. Wanderer cafe bar covered in bunting, full of punters watching footie. We are sitting at far end of site, sunny, pleasant 16 degrees with bit of a breeze. Time to chill before making dinner (pick n mix salad from Morrisons with fresh baguettes)

Re: Weather
I thought the Guy Fawkes pub was OK but we preferred The Gardener's Arms, mainly because the beer was about half the price Forecast for today is identical to yesterday being cloudy and bright with rain expected this afternoon except it didn't rain yesterday. Temperatures are the same too, notional 16°c but still feeling cold. Heading north east later in the week so I think the van heating will be getting tested

Forecasters got it wrong again, it started raining right after my last post and it's been on and off ever since.

Re: Weather
A varied day weather wise here. As we came back from our walk there was a distant rumble of thunder. I have been looking for a replacement jacket for cooler evening walks so we decided to have a look in town. Not the most inspiring place because part of the precinct is awaiting demolition. With the thunder threatening we went in the car. There were only two cars on the car park so that can’t be making money.
We met son and girlfriend in town and he said he was calling this afternoon. By the time he got here it was chucking it down. By the time he went home at tea time it’s a nice and bright but cooler. The new jacket will be welcome for tonight’s walk.

Re: Weather
This evening we had a world class thunderstorm here, right overhead, I've spent a lot of time in the tropics where these are common, can't remember one like this.
But, making a negative into a positive I used it to find an annoying small leak from one of the van windows, never gonna be a better opportunity!!
And did!
Look closely see the wee trickle on the inside, its coming from the connection between the plastic window and its hinge strip. Captain Tolly getting some exercise tomorrow!!

Re: Weather
It appears you got the brunt of the thunderstorm that rumbled through here Ian. We had some good storms when I was in Canada the worst being 76 after the heat wave in Europe. I saw 52 tons of tanks sliding side ways in one of the valleys.
Finding the leak is a positive to come from the storm. As a matter of interest I had to take out and re seal the n/s and back windows on the Rienza . The back one wasn’t the window it was the high level brake light that fell out. The n/s one I did twice. I did wonder if it was because it was the body flexing with door being near to the window. Not a fun job.
