Re: Weather
Yes, better day so a double washing already out to dry. Unfortunately it won't last long as the next weather system is heading this way from the south for tomorrow. Good day for getting stuff done though.

Re: Weather
Sunny and bright start today, although it was only 7° first thing but rising to the dizzy heights of 20. Tomorrow high of 21c but rain forecast all day again. Need it to be dry for few days as going for weekend to Cheshire Steam Show, those traction engines won't be able to run on soft ground.

A bright and dry day here today for a change. Unfortunately I still can’t do my repairs until things dry out a lot more and tomorrow it’s forecast rain. I will have the new wood on Wednesday but I suppose the job is best left for now. Hopefully I can get it done before our next trip late August.

Turned to be a lot warmer and drier than expected. Had a lovely meet up with IanH and his good lady who came to our van for coffee. Thanks for taking the time to visit and the heads up on all the suitable places to visit with the mobility scooter. Much appreciated

A pleasure and nice to meet another asof member. Thanks for feeding and watering us!
Unlike most, I'm hoping for some heavy rain overnight as I need to test my fix for yesterday leak! Sleeping in the van even, dedication!!!
This, of course mean that Sod's law is already diverting the forecast overnight heavy rain away from here

We had 23°c yesterday and it felt warm for a change, I almost took my thermal vest off May get 17° today but cloudy and the rain is heading our way from the south. We have yellow flood warnings for the north east of Scotland over the next few days, I picked a great time to head in that direction

Re: Weather
Well, for once, Sod's law didn't work, rained reasonably heavily from 0100 to 0400 therby giving me ideal conditions to check my leak repair!!
AND. it worked! Not a single molecule got in!
Raining here now but quite light, rest of week forecast isn't great I'm afraid.
Now, perhaps not the correct place to post this but, mainly for Bilbo, but, reason for putting it on here, for all, this is the best place to get your gas tank filled up round here...
Phone first though..

Re: Weather
As much as it feels quite warm this morning the wind has picked up and it is chucking it down. I opened the door whist I made breakfast but muttly hasn’t ventured out.
I certainly won’t be doing any outdoor work but I have to see my foot lady later this morning.

Since we are on ehu every night this trip lpg consumption is minimal and I don't expect to need to top up until the end of this trip, we are staying at Borough bridge CCC for a couple of nights on way back north after going to Doncaster balloon festival, and plan is to top up LPG at Morrisons there.
Rain was impressive here overnight but dry at the moment.
(I do have mylpg and Autogas apps on phone if things go belly up and need to top up.)

Re: Weather
A warm and dry start this morning. I got up early to receive the wood I have ordered for my repairs. The courier said it will be here between 7-12.
Whilst I was making a brew I received a text from Royal Mail saying my parcel will be delivered between 0927-1127.
I can’t see posty with 3 mtr of bubble wrapped timber. Apparently part of the order is coming from a different depot.
When we had the Duetto or my Landrovers getting building materials was easy. Even if I dig the trailer out to tow behind the Rienza long lengths of timber are not easy.
All I need now is the weather to dry up enough to get the job done.

Re: Weather
It was quite pleasant yesterday morning and quite unpleasant in the afternoon from bright and sunny to persistent rain. Forecasts for today depend on who you trust, Google say rain all day, Beeb suggest it will be cloudy but mainly dry. Both agree on the temperature though at a high of 16°c.
Got an offer of 3 nights for the price of 2 from an independent site, only available for midweek and before the end of this month, think I'll pass

Re: Weather
Morning all, both BBC and Google got it wrong yesterday, morning started with rain and dried up around lunchtime but it was dull. If we believe the forecast for today it will be cloudy but dry and 16°c. Given how it's been, that gets marked down as decent

Thunder didn't happen to be just before 10pm by any chance? May have just been collective roar from England given events in Germany.Paulmold wrote:One extremely loud clap of thunder yesterday evening and more rain but stopped before bedtime, dry overnight, bright and sunny start today, high of 17.

Re: Weather
It was a good job I made a start on the repairs yesterday because everything is damp again today. Yesterday seemed warmer than I expected so I charged into the repairs. By tea time I had to stop because I had run out of sealant.
This morning I now realize maybe I should have packed in a bit earlier. My joints and back are telling me I am not as flexible as I thought so a day off is called for.
We are going out with daughter for breakfast whist her other half is kipping after a night shift.

Re: Weather
Back in Roscoff ready for the ferry to Plymouth this afternoon
Dry and overcast, surfline charts show a smooth crossing and should be home about 11pm
Discussions about the being our last trip and selling the van, love it but we are back to Vancouver Island in early September with an open return. Just see the van being parked up for best part of eighteen months, problem is of course if sold it is virtually irreplaceable as we would never find another one this well kept or with the spec we have.
Hoping for a few dry days to get on with jobs at home,
Have a great day all

The sun is out to welcome you back, GH. Mind you, by 11pm it won’t matter
It’s a very bad time to sell vans at the moment. Dealers forecourts are awash with them.
