Re: Weather
Heavy overnight rain turned to thick drizzle around dawn, no long walk this morning, should improve by lunchtime .
Have a nice weekend.

On ferry to Rathlin Island. Would be more encouraging if the harbour fog horn wasn't blasting!!!!

Re: Weather
A nice bright dry day here but garden things like the hedge are still soggy from yesterdays rain. This gets me out of trimming the front hedge. My shoulder feels stiff after doing the side hedge yesterday . With next weekends long drive planned I dont want to push it too far.

Re: Weather
Dampish start here with a little drizzle in the air, should pass and leave a cloudy but dry day. Mild too getting up to 15°c later. Haircut day for me as soon as the anaesthesia kicks in

Beautiful clear dry morning, lovely sunrise and a good walk with Tag at dawn, loud dawn chorus with the Blackies winning outright.

11 degrees and damp and overcast. Was going to cut the grass but it's a bit too wet so it can wait for another week...

Re: Weather
It’s a lovely bright and warm start here. After our walk I got stuck into tackling the front hedge. Before I started it was getting warm with it being in full sunlight. By the time the front was done the jumper had to come off. Management appeared just as the top was finished so she helped sweep up. The garden waste bin was too full to take all the trimmings by the time the inside was done so we have left the rest in a ground sheet until the bin men have been on Tuesday.
I now have pins and needles in my hand and a sore back and shoulder but the first trim of the year is a major one the rest of the year is a monthly or when it needs it trim. Any more garden things are not my problem. Management likes the fiddly stuff I do mechanical gardening.

Re: Weather
Hot bath should help Dave!
Decent sort of day here, seemed very quiet when we went out seeing it is a long weekend. Old gatehouse to where we live is a holiday let, haven't seen many people staying there much.
Managed to finish cleaning all the winter detritus off the van so now ready for a wax and sealant.
Have a great evening forecast looks good for later in the week.

Re: Weather
It's been raining overnight so everything is a bit soggy. Looks like we'll have burst of rain all day with occasional periods of it being dry and cloudy. Temperature more or less unchanged at 15°c. Enjoy your Bank Holiday (if you're having one), we have one every day

Same here Tony, every day is a holiday. Rained overnight blue skies now, forecast is less than 10% chance of rain so an outside day again maybe get some more walls painted.
Garden is looking glorious at moment and full of colour which is where I am happy to be.

Another lovely morning here. This is unusual for early May Bank Holiday. I dropped our son in Cleethorpes for his new job early this morning. It was nice to see people out with their dogs on the sea front before the crowds wake up.

Morning all,
Dull and overcast this morning. Not raining at the moment and the Met Office say it should stay like this until late afternoon / early evening.

Re: Weather
Morning all,
Turned out quite a nice day yesterday, had a run out to the Five Sisters and the sun even made an appearance.
Light cloud cover this morning but a pleasant 12 degrees. No rain forecast and not supposed to get much warmer either.
Take care if your out on your travels.

Re: Weather
Yes, turned out a much better day than forecast yesterday and none of the rain predicted. Cloudy and a bit cooler today, BBc say it will stay dry, Google says there will be showers this afternoon Sure one of them will be right. Out for coffee this morning and a bit of shopping.

Not as bright today but still dry so far. I know contractors have targets to meet but the gardeners trimming the hedges across the road at Lidle started at seven this morning followed by nearly an hour chasing the cuttings with a leaf blower.

Re: Weather
It’s going to be one of those days. Whilst I was getting ready for our walk I heard the sounds of a pressure washer starting. Our naibor has the tarpaulins from his fire engines on the front lawn and is cleaning them with his pressure washer.
Fifty yards up our avenue a guy is out with his lawn mower cutting the grass on the verge. We crossed the road because muttly wouldn’t walk past the lawn mower.

Still a bit overcast but mild and dry with it getting up to 17 or 18°c later. Got my renewal notice for car insurance from the AA, last year they stuck 50% on and I negotiated them down on the phone. They've done it again so this year I won't waste my time. I used two comparison sites, oddly one quoted the same policy with another provider as the other at 70% of the price (and 70% of the AA's price). The game goes on

Re: Weather
Another dry day here and a quiet start this morning apart from the fog horn on the river. The breeze was quite chilly last night but I woke early hours feeling stuffy and bunged up because the breeze had stopped hence the fog horn. We are going out for lunch today so that will help clear my head.
With my pending trip on Sunday I will sort what clothes I am taking and get a wash done. When I dropped our son at work on Monday morning he said with his shifts up to us leaving he has packed already.

Re: Weather
We are on the road again, stopping for 2 nights just north of Burton on Trent. My weather app says its foggy and temp of 11 with real feel of 13 (how does that work? ), it isn't foggy, it's bright but not sunny, temp to rise to 21.
I've just renewed my car insurance, was with Saga who want 485, phoned loads and used comparison sites. My neighbour has identical car to me (he's not 70 yet) and got insurance through Carol Nash with Ageas at 220, I tried them and got over 500 went direct to Ageas and they want 600, tried CAMC and they quoted 251 so I've gone with them - who have they put it with, Ageas. No sense in it at all.

Enjoy the trip Paul, makes no sense at all on the insurance does it?
Misty start but sun breaking through so should be another lovely day, get on with jobs this morning then if it stays warm this afternoon it will be time for siesta in the yard! Work is banned these days between 2pm and 4pm.
Getting on making sure the van is 110% for our trip to Europe next month, I find it far less of a chore if you do these things gradually rather than one big hit, must be a sign of getting old.
Have a great day all
