Re: Weather
More or less the same as yesterday, cloudy with showers this morning and longer spells of rain this afternoon. The temperature though is down to a notional high of 14°c but it feels colder than that in the brisk wind. Enjoy the sun if you've got it.

Re: Weather
Typically now we are home I have outside jobs that I have been putting off and it’s back to raining intermittently. No matter I need to go out and get muttly his dinners so I will collect the bits I need from Screwfix so I am ready when things dry up.
Amongst the things I need is a tape measure. I have only had one tape measure that I bought when we bought our first house in 82 after leaving the army. I suppose it’s survived well considering things don’t last long these days.

Re: Weather
Thanks for the comment Ian and yes I had noticed the change to metric. I was on the first decimal pay parade at the army apprentice college. I am sure the paymaster didn’t understand the conversion and short changed us. The Magnusson 8 mtr tape measure I bought was on offer at Screwfix for £8 .99. It is a huge lump compared to old Stanley 3 mtr one so hopefully it will be harder to loose. It has metric and imperial sizes on both sides.
Once the rain stopped I started on the repairs. The bottom of one the window frame has always been a source of leaks. A new inner and outer bit of frame is sealed, screwed in and glued for good measure so should help keep the rain out. The outer cladding repairs will have to wait until it’s a bit drier weather.

Re: Weather
Nice forecast for here for tomorrow.
Best fully appreciated imho!
We must be similar ages Dave. My apprentice entry at RAF Halton was the first 3 yr course totally metric. I then got posted to Lightnings, the first tool I used was a 2BA spanner!!

Re: Weather
Exactly the same as yesterday just now but forecast to rain all day with an odd sunny spell or two spread throughout the afternoon.
Metric - I remember working with an old tradesman who used to ask for things like a 1/2 inch metric socket (12mm) etc....

My yesterday forecast for here has worked!
Glorious morning bit breezy from the west.
However only 9c right now
Wroxham in van today, mostly to slosh some tank gunge around in the grey tank!
Not looking too exciting for next few days I'm afraid.....

Re: Weather
It’s a bright dry day here but according to the weather forecast it’s getting to be wet every day for the next couple of weeks. The best weather here appears to have been whilst we were away.
The repairs I need to do can’t be done until it’s dry so I think the best plan for my repairs is to sheet up that side of the workshop to try and keep the damp out for now. The big problem being the concrete that the workshop is sat on has a hollow in one corner so rain water dosnt drain away. Also being in shadow permanently it takes ages to dry out.

Re: Weather
Morning all. Not a pleasant day yesterday, lots of very sharp showers pushed on by a howling wind. Bit brighter and drier today but no change in the temperatures with a high of 14 or 15°c and showers still a possibility. Big queues at the job centres this morning
Enjoy your travels if away.

Re: Weather
Another bright and dry morning here. I am loosing trust in the weather forecast people. The rain never arrived yesterday. My idea of the woodwork drying will be better left to nature for another few days and make a decision next week. The idea of putting a sheet over it won’t work anyway because the sheet I have is 8’ long making it too short to cover the whole side.
The bedding and other bits out of the van need putting back in and a deep clean so that will be todays task. Whilst we were away Muttly was molting so the Hoover will get a good work out.

27 degrees and sunny, still in Amboise, what a lovely little pla e this is, if down this way it has to go on the list.
Five hot air balloons took off last night and three more this morning, just at tree top height as they passed, quite a sight!
