Re: Weather
Just the rwo for me, I have them when away instead of my porridge. After a cloudless night we have another frost but the temperature is up to 1°c so it's not as hard as yesterday. Need to fill the car up with petrol and get the Sunday papers.
Take care folks

Re: Weather
1 degree but nice morning so far.
Presentation event went well yesterday. Place we booked for dinner was awful so we.left before ordering and went to find somewhere else, not easy with 300000 pro Palestine marchers about. In the end as management was wilting fast we cut our losses and headed back by train to Abbey Wood leaving daughters to their own plans. dinner was M&S turkey and stuffing Christmas sandwich eaten on train followed by nice cuppa when back at van. Rest day today then set off back north tomorrow.

Re: Weather
Cold wind and overcast for our morning walk. A late start for us but eventually it was a porridge breakfast. Nothing fancy just instant stuff in a packet with milk. I am allowed sugar on mine as a treat, normally brown sugar but it’s not worth keeping a small amount in the van just for porridge or my coffee.
The slow cooker has gone on with beef stew in it for our tea. That’s been a great investment for the van. Fill it and put it on automatic in the morning. Tea done and straight in to dishes.

1 degree and damp. Bit more Christmas shopping done - car parks were empty when we got to The Fort, within an hour they were all full.
Lunch and feet up for the rest of the day.

Re: Weather
We managed a short walk along the lanes behind the site. The wind has switched round so we walked into a chilly wind again.
Muttly had a spell of limping yesterday for a short time on the coast path. We think he stood on a bit of sharp shell by the harbor. He stopped and looked at his foot again today so we cut the walk short finishing outside the cafe with a hot drink before heading back to a nice cosy van.
If the wind isn’t too bad tomorrow we might head farther down the coast for a pub stop before heading home.

Turned really cool, we have Stovies done in a slow cooker too and golden treacle with the porridge .

We had some light rain overnight but the sky is pretty clear this morning althouh no frost. The forecast suggests the rain on the way for later will drop as snow on high ground.......I better wear a hat if I go out

Heavy rain and windy conditions since the early hours, not dog walking weather, we have the car canopy to get under if need be.

Re: Weather
We had to make decision this morning, are we staying out another night or going home. As it has been raining hard most of the night and daughter phoned us last night to say she wasn’t very well so we are heading home.
It was only an excuse for a pub stop so after breakfast I will get the waterproofs on and walk muttly before packing up. He dosnt look too keen on the idea now his dog towel has come out. Maybe a bit of bacon rind will be a nice treat when he gets back.

Re: Weather
Four hours later and it's still at 1°c but turning colder if the forecast is correct. The sun hardly got up above the horizon yesterday, bit cloudy today so guess we won't see much of it today. Out for coffee this morning, trying to keep my excitement in check
Keep safe all, hope GHs trip is going well.
Ps, just because I need to tell somebody...... after nearly two years I got today's Wordle on my first try (makes up for the few times I didn't get it at all )

Re: Weather
A nice bright but chilly day here. It always seems colder in the house when we come home. I suppose it’s the change from being tucked up in a small warm space all weekend to a house that takes more heating.

Re: Weather
Really chilly feel at -1 this morning with much colder to come over next few days.
Really good and enjoyable drive home yesterday, very foggy over top of A66 with one quick snow flurry. Glorious sunshine from Penrith to home. Put cruise control on when joined M6 at Penrith and road was so quiet didn't need to touch it or pedals until we stopped for lunch at Cairn Lodge services, well over 100 miles.
Van safely parked away on drive ready for draining down and clearing out for winter.
Stay warm folks.

Re: Weather
A cold frosty start with a light covering of snow here. I don’t know how cold it was during the night but the bird bath and fountain are frozen.
When we came home on Monday I drained the water tank in the van. I am going to completely drain the system today and put it on hook up with no travel plans in place until new year.

Morning Dave, to icey for Tag Dave, -2 with the slush frozen solid on all surfaces, local bus isn't getting up the wee hill outside.
Thawed enough for us both to get out for an hour at 10.30.
More zero temperatures on the forecast for later, most of the snow is on the north moors., no point risking falling over on the ice, hospitals are to far away now. hull York .
Have a nice day

Muttly isn’t daft he walked on the crunchy frozen grass as much as he could leaving me to risk icy pavements. The all puddles in the yard were frozen hard even though the lock up owners must have driven over them first thing.
I think this is the coldest morning this winter. Could this be fore warning of the winter to come.

We have snow in Cornwall! Only a light covering so far but it’s still coming down. It’s a rare occurrence on this part of the coast.
