Showers on and off all day. Been for a run around The Wirral in the car, extremely blustery along the proms of West Kirby and New Brighton and pretty cold.

Dry day and able to get the van out for a decent drive followed by a good walk along the beach.5 degrees or so and light wind so not at all bad really.
Lady G bought some euromillions tickets on Friday, told her it was a complete waste of money but as ever of course she was right, we won! Not a life changing amount, a contribution towards our next trip to France though..... the £2.89 winnings should buy enough fuel to get at least to Truro.
Enjoy the rest of the evening  allthumbz

Morning all,

Cold this morning.  -2 and the place is white, looks like a thin covering of snow but I think it's just frost, just the morning for standing at the station waiting for a train.

Wrap up well and take care if your out and about.

Clear and sunny but the best temperature today will be 0°c. Very frosty and there is a light covering of snow, tomorrow will bring more substantial falls according to the forecast. My favourite Bob Monkhouse joke was when he said, "when I told my family I was going to be a comedian, they just laughed". "Well, they're not laughing now"

Take care if you're out and about.

6 degrees and sunny periods down here this morning, very little wind so can manage outside without a coat. Someone coming to give another fence quote today, some around here ask why we so much work ourselves, fact is there seems to be fewer and fewer people out there who will do the job properly!

Drekkly I can live with TW, B@llsh1t I can't. Last guy that quoted said " I can't take away all the old fence or the concrete where I dig the posts up, you will have to get rid of it". Had I been a 95 year old lady would he have said the same thing! I did ask, why not cut the old posts off and space the new ones in new holes. That's not how "we" do it he said......! shrugg

-4 degrees this morning, even the house feels cold.  Forecast is for rain later so the cloud cover might start holding a bit of the heat in.

Remember the long johns and winter woolies if your going out.

We had a cold but very sunny day yesterday, got our bedding washed and dried outside when folk a few miles away were struggling under a blanket (see what I did there biggrin ) of snow. We had numerous warnings of heavy snow here affecting this mornings rush hour, this morning they now say it will hit the evening rush hour scratch head Suppose they will be right eventually. Like Dave, even with the heating on full blast, the house feels cold.

Take it easy.

Considering we left home at five this morning to take our son to Manchester Airport it didn’t seem too cold. By the time we got over the Pennines it was sleeting and yuk to drive in. I can normally do it in 21/2 hrs but the traffic was horrendous on the M60/56 so it took us just over three hours.
Muttly wasn’t best pleased to be going out before we left. He will be in an almighty sulk when we get home no doubt.

Overnight frost but 5 degrees now and sun pouring in through the window is toasty hot. Another small load of medical aid to drop off for delivery to Ukraine this afternoon, don't envy the team making the trip right now, weather will be atrocious.
Have a great day all.

There’s been reports of people struggling to get to work or schools in the NW. They can’t have been brought up as we were in the Oldham West Yorkshire area in the fifties and sixties. Short trousers ,wellingtons , balaclava, duffle coat and idiot mittens were the fashion for us.
On the way home this morning we called in to Birch services for a break and let the traffic ease a little. A guy on the next table on his phone said in a loud voice “I can’t make to work because the snow is too bad”!!!. It wasn’t bad enough to be sat drinking coffee in the services. shrugg

Well the forecast was wrong again yesterday. Despite the dire warning of disruption from heavy snow, all we got was a little rain at 5pm. Today we have clear skies and a frosty start, the forecast (so who knows shrugg ) is for it to remain sunny and getvup to just -1°c by lunchtime. Not sure ifvtge boss will want to go out or not, I'm in hibernation mode.

Take care folks.

3 degrees, light cloud cover, no sign of frost last night. Birds need the feeders topping up this morning, they just love those sunflower hearts, peanuts not so much. Started the van the other day with the screen cover still on and the wipers went in to auto wipe mode, thought I had ripped the screen covers , not the case though managed to break the washer jets off one wiper. A lesson there!! blushes
Take care everyone in the snow and ice and stay warm.

A bright chilly day here. No sign of snow but the grass is white with frost in the shade. After the driving yesterday were are staying put to recoup.
Not having time out with the van since late November we are thinking of having a couple of nights pub stop next week. We find canal or railway walks are good for muttly and managements ability but can be a bit muddy in the winter. An alternative are the grounds of the stately houses. The houses are closed but the grounds are open for walks.
The thought for next week is Chatsworth. There’s a pub in the village that allows stop overs that we havnt tried yet but other people we know have stayed there.
