Re: Weather
Yes, -2°c climbing to 0°c later. We've also noticed the house being colder than usual, not sure if it's old age or if the thermostat needs bumping up a tad. Shopping day so back in the old routine.
Take care folks.

Re: Weather
Got to walk into town later to collect prescriptions, will need well wrapped up as still below 0 degrees here. Don't mind these sub zero back to back days when dry and windless, it is the damp cold that gets to me.

Managed a short walk with Tag earlier before the hailstones came down, still patchy black ice on the footpaths though .

Although a wintery feel in the air, there's still some warmth in the sun, had a couple of Tags dog towels washed this morning and out on the wall drier facing the sun for a few hours , nearly dry enough to bring inside to finish of on the bathroom drier..
Have a nice evening , winter starts to morrow .
Happy St Andrews day

Re: Weather
The 1st December............how did that happen
After a clear night we have frost and it's -3°c. There's a light blanket of cloud this morning so I don't think we'll see much of the sun today. Chances are the cloud will hold the temperatures down. I think "we" are going out today on a mission, I await instruction

Re: Weather
A frosty morning here but no snow this time. Nothing planned until this afternoon when management goes out for lunch with her friend. It’s that time of year when planning trips goes on hold until new year. I have a workshop project to finish so once Muttly has had his walk I will go out and turn the heater up to make the place habitable.
As management has reminded me it’s the 1st of December so I had best order her pressy.

Re: Weather
Very cold night, -4 degrees, glad I drained the van down. Apparently I am taking management Christmas shopping this afternoon. Suppose I should comply but was hoping for a quiet afternoon in my chair.
Surprised I haven't been dispatched to the attic yet for perpetual advent calendars and start of seasonal jollity to decorate the house.
Stay warm out there

Re: Weather
It must have rained and then froze at some time last night because the pavements and side roads are covered in bumpy ice. It was a struggle to walk at any more than a shuffle. There was a lot of scraping of windscreens.

Morning Boaby,
Don't know what the temp got down to last night but the frost was like snow. Still only -2 but it is sunny so, hopefully, it will get a wee bitty warmer as the day goes on. Shopping day so no need for a cool bag.

Bone chilling -7 this morning. Provided chauffeuring and portering services for management's Christmas shopping yesterday. Don't intend crossing the threshold today, forecast a bit less cold tomorrow.

Only -2°c but we have a blanket of around 3in of snow lying. The sky is pretty clear but more snow showers are expected later this morning. No reason to go out, so I won't.
Take care all

Ice walkers on this morning, slush has frozen solid at -4 , sun is coming up over the roof ridges, so hopefully bring a wee bit of heat to the washing.
Take care if you have to go out, not a day for bringing on the road, all I can hear is ambulances zooming along the Scarborough road.
Have a nice day, morning Dave. And Tony who just got in there

Morning Boaby,
Same as Tony here, -2 and around 3 inches of snow. Think it's a feet up, hot chocolate and telly day.

Re: Weather
It looked like we had a light covering of snow last night because everything was white but the paths were walkable unlike last night.
I have done my bit for Christmas regarding shopping for management. Once again the post office messed up delivery times. The text message said Monday between 9 - 11. It arrived today whist I was out with muttly. It is well wrapped so she dosnt know what it is. Her other pressy is via Everi. Their delivery guy lives next door but one so that should be on time.

Started at -6 earlier, now at -3 and forecast to rise into positive temperatures later. Might try to defrost cars later on
Fortunately we avoided snow despite reports of it in all directions around us, including in the coast at Arbroath. Daughter in Kinross reports several inches.
Take care if you are out and about

Morning Boaby. No more snow but we've still got the stuff from yesterday, no signs of it going anywhere. We're scheduled to get our booster and flu jabs this evening, main roads are OK but our side roads are awful. I'll have a go this morning and see how this works, might have to rebook
Take care folks.

Be careful, wifey wanted to use her moped yesterday to the shops, forbade....
She walked and found that hard enough!

Re: Weather
Woke up this morning to find a covering of snow but it feels warmer so I don’t think it will stay long. Going back to being brought up in a Pennine village in West Yorkshire we mostly had full snow for weeks in January or February. I can’t rember snow at Christmas.
My Dad told us that when I was born February 55 he had to reverse up one of the hills because his van was lower geared and griped better backwards. There was no heater in that van. He used to wear his ex army great coat.
