Re: Weather
Clear sky, no wind and -6 degrees at dawn. Looks like we have managed to dodge the snow. Van back on drive, on ehu and electric oil heater inside to keep temperature above 3 degrees, no problems with dump valve despite very low temperatures.
Stay safe if you have snow.

Re: Weather
Very strange, posted about 6:30 this morning and the post has disappeared.....
Cold again this morning, -2 and it doesn't look like it's going to get much warmer. Shopping day today so at least I won't need a cool bag for the frozen stuff.
Good luck at the dentist today Paul, taking the Boss tomorrow for a filling and that should, hopefully, be our last visit for a few months.
Take care folks and stay warm.

Re: Weather
You must live in a warm bit Dave, -4°c and a frost here right now. Bonus is a clear sky and the sunshine should raise the temperature a little. Shopping day for us too, got the list in my head
Hope your results are OK GH, I'm on meds and regular visits to the practice nurse (I'm sure we have GPs but not see one yet ) for the same issue. All good so far. No problem seeing my NHS dentist every 6 months but most treatment appears only available if we pay as private patients.
Take it easy folks

Re: Weather
Sounds like a lot of disruption up country, take care of yourselves if you are out and about.
11 degrees with cloud and rain showers this morning, a little breeze but nothing of significance.
Snow has fallen across the moors and further north but down on the south coast we seem to have avoided it.
Have a great day all

About 3" now so walked down to Lidl just for essentials milk and bread, everything else we can survive with what we've already got. Walking on pavements was tough going, walking in road easier as not much traffic. Lidl very quiet, only about 5 customers in.

Re: Weather
I noticed the BBC Wales news report was from Mold at lunchtime Paul, and it was snowing quite heavily then. Glad you got your emergency supplies sorted.
Quite mild down here in Pembrokeshire when I went for a walk around the village this afternoon, supposedly 11 degrees, though the strong wind meant it felt cooler coming back into it.
It's rained constantly since I got back!

Re: Weather
Stopped snowing now, roads and pavements turning to slush. Forecast now for freezing rain. Dentist done, temporary filling replaced with more permanent one, now dribbling my coffee as lips still numb.

We had heavy snow at Hunstanton for about 3 hours this afternoon, it’s all gone now as he rain rolled in and washed it away, raining very heavily now,

Re: Weather
After a dry but cold morning it’s been on and off sleet and rain all day here. It was a quick walk tonight with a very cold wind from the South West.
We seem to have been lucky so far here but I still think canceling our trip this week was a good idea. The site above Robinhoods bay is a bit open to the elements. I did think of just doing a pub stop but the Rienza is a bit slab sided making driving in rough weather challenging for just one night.

Re: Weather
Been cold all day with a really bitter wind and the snow has just started. Not too heavy at the moment but it does seem to be lying. Fingers crossed it doesn't freeze over night.

The rain and wind have been terrible during the night and it is still going strong, the van has been blown from side to side with a bad night's sleep also, we are traveling home this morning and not really looking forward to the drive back, stay safe and warm out there

Re: Weather
Good morning Boaby, lucky we have no snow here at and just checked my security cameras and nothing at home, just had to jump out of bed and outside to capture the silver screen that had been blown free from the van, this wind seams to be getting stronger according to XC Weather app that I use gusting to 40 mph

Re: Weather
Safe trip home Chris. We had some flurries of snow last night, some lying on the green stuff but very little on roads and pavements. The sky is clear now and I would expect the sun to clear most of it although it's -1°c just now.
Watched the BBC weather forecast late last night, forecaster said there was a warning, especially for the north of the UK, and pointed to an amber patch around the Midlands Today we have "videos" from folk who were stuck on roads last night, do any of these folk ever heed warnings not to travel? Not judging, and I know some folk have to travel, but several looked like they were dressed for a night out rather than a visit to a sick grandparent.
Take care folks

Morning folks,
Just a light dusting of snow. Wee bitty warmer here than out your way Tony, it's 1 degree here and the sun is shining so that should clear the road up nicely in time to take the Boss to the dentist (she's sitting here asking why it didn't blow a blizzard last night )
Safe journey home Chris and wrap up well when you're out with Tag, Boaby.

Re: Weather
By teatime yesterday snow stopped and appeared to be thawing a bit and our road was completely clear. Started snowing again around 10pm and continued throughout the night completely covering the road again. This morning snow looks to be 6" deep, tyre tracks in the road look to be same depth. Sun is shining but temp 1° so doubt if snow will disappear soon. Temp tonight forecast down to -7.

Re: Weather
Back from the early shop, 7 degrees, sunshine and showers, no sign of any frost or snow down here.
Do take care up country, doesn't sound like a lot of fun at the moment. Delivery of fresh bird feed yesterday so now have to transfer it in to plastic pots or the mice will be having a party.

Just back from the Dentist - 4 degrees and lovely and sunny now with clear blue skies and no cloud. The sun is nice and warm, just a pity there is still a chilly wind blowing.

Re: Weather
It's now up to 6°c here and warm enough to have washing out getting dried. All change later as there will be a minus in front of that 6 tonight. I would send you a photo of the view from my chair but I'm sure you've all seen kitchen cabinets before
