Re: Weather
CH is almost back to normal, thank goodness. -3°c right now with a light frost, the sky is clear and we have bright sunshine so it might warm up a little. Forecast suggests we'll be getting -6° tomorrow but some sheltered areas going down to -15° overnight.

Re: Weather
Got back from orchestra rehearsal at 10 30 last night with temp at 2 degrees, had to park van in street, -1 and clear skies this morning, dump valve has triggered and incontinent van has left a trail of ice in the street. Need to get it back into drive and on ehu today as temperature forecast to -7 tonight. Dont want to drain van down as we are using it on Thursday.
Hope today is better weather Chris, have a good break
Haven't been to Aldi to check baked goods from Mortons, Newsagent gets morning rolls from Rough and Fraser in Dundee so picked a few up for breakfast when I was out shopping

A good example of how easy it would be to damage the system in very cold weather, thank goodness for the dump valve. It's happened to us a couple of times when the van has been in storage, not cold enough to burst pipes but enough to trigger the valve. After the first time (spotted when trying to fill with water onsite ) I always check before setting off.
We will miss the Tottie Scones, Mortons made them under the City Bakeries logo. Sundays won't be the same with our poached eggs on an inferior product

Re: Weather
Enjoy the rest of the day Chris, good to be making use of the van.
Dry with sunny spells down here and 7 degrees, pretty good day for getting the jobs done, wouldn't be surprised to see the odd shower later though. No frost this far south and warmer later in the week so thinking thermal covers will be coming off the van screen, cleaned and put away for the summer.
Have a great day all

Snow is melting fast, sun is well above the roof ridge lines now bringing some warmth onto the vehicles.
Take care if your on tour, especially the rest of the week.

Tiniest bit of frost on the van at 6:30am but it has been followed by a lovely day with clear skies and we could feel the heat of the sun for a few hours so managed some weeding of the flower beds as we looked across at the light dusting on Snowdon :-)

Re: Weather
Morning Boaby, glad to hear the car and van are OK, not sure tag would have been too happy about a walk quite that early though.
Very cold here this morning, -5 but the sky is clear so should heat up a bit when the sun appears.
Wrap up well if your out and about today folks...

Not a nice way to be wakened Boaby, glad all OK, good luck with MOT, I have hygienist at dentist, not sure which of us will suffer most
Bright clear morning with no snow here yet but it isn't too far north of us. Temperature a bone chilling -7 so will take car to dentist rather than walk

About 3" of snow, and still snowing. No wind, so pretty on the trees. Roads seem ok where gritted.

Some of those road signs can be very aggressive when approached by a drunken . Good luck with the MOT Boaby.
We're the filling in the sandwich this morning with the north and south getting the snow. Still -5°c with a clear blue sky, we have a frost but I've seen worse. No idea if the boss has plans for today, my plan is to avoid plans

Hope the MOT goes well Boaby. Not nice to be woken like that, what is wrong with people to do such things.
Very odd the way the weather is at the moment, 10 degrees and light showers in the far SW at the moment, looks like the warm front is winning out here.
Hospital this afternoon for an ECG and scan of the aorta, annual check which should have been done last October, five months late isn't bad and just in time to send to the DVLA ( hopefully!) for the farce that will be C1 licence renewal. Only took 18 months last time to renew it.
Enjoy your travels all and stay safe.

Re: Weather
WE noticed the fair amount of snow in Cardiff on the TV report this morning Cymro.
We've had about an inch or so here in balmy (barmy?) Pembrokeshire, though it's melting at the moment.
We were supposed to be away in the 'van last week but the forecast put us off and it turned out a nice weekend.
Thankfully, they've been more accurate this time around, which meant us postponing again.
Third time lucky for the end of next week maybe?

Van passed its test earlier, give the van a good run to Scarborough and back, now covered in salt and mud.
Overcast and cold, forecast said it was to be sunny all day, wrong.

Re: Weather
A bright and very chilly walk this morning but no sign of the forecasted sleet and snow. I have just driven into town and the car said it was five degrees but coming home the sleet started and it had dropped to two degrees. By the time I had made some lunch it has dryer up but still cold.
Maybe not going away as we originally planned was a good idea.

Hope everything went well at the dentist, all the dentists and GPs are deserting Bridington in their droves lately.
Snow turned to sleet now.

Glad van was OK on test Boaby.
Dry fine morning here although only 2° but snow started after lunch, didn't come to much and all gone already. Another cold night to come down to -5. Dentist for me tomorrow afternoon, hopefully proper filling to replace the temporary one done couple of weeks ago which has mostly gone already.

I was in and out in a few minutes, arrived 15 minutes ahead of appointment and just walked straight in, plenty of staff around, only one other patient to be seen in the unit. They let me walk out again so guess nothing strange appeared but wont see the results for two or three weeks.
Think I will be coming up to you for an MOT on the van at that price, sure I paid over £50 last time

Re: Weather
Glad the van passed Boaby, you were less expensive than I was at Dentist.
no shortage of dentists here, especially if you want to go private. 10 years ago our GP practice had 7 full time GPs, since Christmas it now has two, supported by a growing team of nurses. Through work i used to be on first name terms with all GPs not just in my surgery but across the county as I used to visit them all on a regular basis to discuss their prescribing, now i dont know who my GP is. Changed days and not for the better in my view
We are down to -3 degrees already with -7 forecast overnight.
GH, good news they let you walk out.

Thanks for that Paul, always put the van in for test a month early so I have 13 months test on it, just feels better ?? Silly really.
Light sleet overnight ,started to thaw, then froze ,started to thaw again at 5 this morning , regular walk with Tag And back in for a warm towel rub down for Tag.
Porridge in a wee while.
Have a nice day, take care in the snow, hope all goes well at the dentist Paul.

Another dry night here at Hunstanton . We have done really well with the weather compared to what was forecast on the TV and what the rest of the country has had.
Today’s forecast is for snow from about 10am till tea time then fog then rain throughout the night

Hi,
Sat in Evesham at 8am in the snow, says it will turn to rain later. Have booking at Oxon Park in Shrewsbury for today for 3 nights. Not fancying an 80 mile trip in the snow, with it likely to be worse further up country.
Give it an hour and perhaps try and cancel with a chance of re booking.
