Re: Weather
Frosty morning but promises a nice day with sunshine and clear skies.
Garden waste bin out for emptying for first time since November. Sure sign spring is coming even if BBC weather shows frosty mornings for next couple of weeks.
Have a good day.

Re: Weather
Still 0°c, quite a hard frost over at our bit though. Sun is up so it should warm up a little but we have cloud and rain heading our way from the NW for later today. Shopping day, guess after the news yesterday about the shortage of vegetables in shops, the usual suspects will have been in to buy up more than they need
Take care folks

3° only rising to 6 today, lovely and sunny with very little chance of rain. Shopping day for us as well, last week no eggs whatsoever in Lidl, wonder what today's shortage will be.

Re: Weather
7 degrees with mixed sky of blue and cloud, feels a lot colder today. Back home in Canada they had a huge dump of snow last night so thinking myself lucky!
Tip run today then fixing my old lawnmower which packed up again yesterday, it is nearly twenty years old so has done really well. Just ordered a new one.
Best go and get the trailer loaded.....
Have a great day all

Re: Weather
Our Lidl no tomatoes and only a few large eggs. Our Lidl is rubbish at price tickets, none on the new meat offers cabinet and many more missing around store. Cages and pallets all around store making access up aisles difficult and not one member of staff packing out, three on tills, no sign of anyone else. After 23 years in retail management (13 in food supermarket) it really winds me up.

Turned out nice and sunny once the low cloud cleared no problem with eggs here, lots of farm shops, £1.49 half dozen for large brown ones.
Have a nice evening. Hi Dave nice to see you got up.

Re: Weather
Morning Boaby - I only work Monday to Friday so this is the start of my long weekend, pity it's yet another trip to the dentist, this time with the Boss.
6 degrees here this morning and dry, forecast is to be nice all day so I might be able to get the van washed and touch up the bits on the bumper which didn't quite get treated with enough oil when I done it a couple of weeks ago.

Re: Weather
We've got it at 8°c over here, may be because the sun has just got above the horizon. Yesterday's forecast rain never arrived, if we believe the current predictions it should stay dry for the next few days with little change in the temperatures.
I enjoyed my job but have been retired for 15 years now. I missed some of the people when leaving but never missed going to work

Six degrees now and the heavy overnight rain has stopped. Looks like a nice day ahead.
Interesting that people who spoke to you every day or week when working find no reason to contact you once retired, obviously spoke to the role rather than the person. I was once told that when making 'friends' and associations at work it was important to determine how 'helpful' each individual is at present and likely to be in your future career plans before deciding how much time and effort to invest in them. Also keep your friends close, but enemies closer...something our politicians seem to forget with predictable consequences
That is today's thought for the day have a good one

Re: Weather
A lot of truth there Bilbo, in 1989 I was royally stitched up by supposed friends and colleagues who even destroyed documents to discredit me. Just two people helped and I never forgot that. I couldn't work with people I didn't trust so the 7 series BMW and the salary had to go. Gave up everything to start a rival company with one of those two people who stood by me and within two years we had taken all the business from them. I retired in 2000 and sold my share of the company to my partner and today it is a leading travel group in the UK thanks to her dedication and the support of the team we built together.
Keep your enemies closer... and assume most people are one of them.
Back from the early shop, plenty of fruit and veg on the shelves in Sainsburys , cold old morning but the sun is breaking out now and it is 5 degrees. Should be back to the pressure washing but I really can't be bothered today I am afraid.
Stay safe and well all.
Have a great day

Re: Weather
Strange temps overnight, was 3° at 9 o'clock last night and then progressively warmer as night went on until 8° at 9 this morning and it's going to stay at that all day but back down to 1° tonight. Also rained overnight and only just stopped.

Re: Weather
Light frost here and currently -1°c. There's a lot of blue sky with some broken cloud, pretty much what was forecast for today and tomorrow. Need to venture over and get the van out for a run today or tomorrow, I'll wait and see how much the weather warms up first.
Take it easy

Beautiful morning with clear blue skies, 5 degrees and very light E wind. Should be a good few days to get the pressure washing finished then it will be time to turn to the van for its Spring wax and "C" check. New tyres on the cards as they are 11 years old, not sure which to use yet.

Morning Folks,
6 degrees here this morning and nice and sunny with hardly a cloud in the sky. Gave the van a quick wash yesterday and took it for a wee run before filling up with derv. Just need LPG now and I'll be hot to trot for a trip to the borders in a couple of weeks.

Re: Weather
Up to a heady 1°c this morning, dry with very light cloud and no frost.
The best laid plans, etc. Getting ready to go and take the van out yesterday and I'm informed there's water dripping under the kitchen sink. Quick inspection shows a loose connection on the waste, not surprising when I take it apart to find the compression washer in the wrong place.
Fixed, so do I get going? Not a chance, washing machine stops half way through a programme, filter appears blocked. By the time I had resolved that all thoughts of doing anything other than sitting on my bahookie were gone.
I may try again today, but then again.......

Re: Weather
Bad luck Tony, hopefully today will be more to your taste.
Pleasant morning here but very nondescript. Was going to wash the cars but weather tomorrow similar so decided to leave it until tomorrow and have a chill out day today
Just booked Moffat for a short break next weekend to give the van a good post winter test. Got fed up with CMC app and booking farce so joined CCC last month. Much easier booking, and cheaper..about 25% cheaper than Melrose CMC for next weekend on similar pitch
