Nice place, we are having a couple of weeks at home to enjoy our Victoria Plums.
The vegetation is all very lush and dense in North Staffordshire with a bit of rain most days at the moment. I was on the Staffordshire Shropshire border on my bike last week and some fields of cereal or oil seed (not my subject) were black and looked spoiled to my untrained eye.

Warmed up a lot in Winchester and it's very oppressively heavy.

Re: Weather
We love Victoia plums but the ones we've had over the last few weeks don't taste like Victoria plums All coming from Kent, for some reason we can't get local ones.
Its crept up to 19°c and still dry but the clouds are gathering

When we are here we put a couple of barrow loads out the front for people to help themselves but we often miss them and leave them to the neighbours. I think they are early this year but I'm no gardener, I know we are leaving home about 2.5 weeks later than last year.

Absolutely tipping it down since I got up at 6.30, haven't been out yet and don't intend to leave the house until it eases up. At least it is warm and windless.

Re: Weather
Heavy overnight rain but it seems to be clearing this bit of the country and being pushed away by high pressure. Still overcast and dull with little wind so it might take a while to change. Got stuff to take to the recycling centre, could be a problem as there is a strike starting today by cleansing workers

Re: Weather
Sunny here too but there's a brisk wind blowing, should be a bit warmer and drier than yesterday. The boss wanted a "couple of things" from B&M yesterday, when we came out I looked like one of those kids that used to play double or drop on Crackerjack (apologies if you have no idea what I'm talking about )

Re: Weather
Light cloud and dry here and 17°c right now. It's very still so we expect that's the way it will stay today but getting a little warmer. Very quiet too with our cleaning workers on strike so the bins are not getting emptied today. Think I'll try withdrawing my labour today and see what happens

Re: Weather
I find it rather ironic that (once again) the experts are discussing transporting water from Wales to the Thames Water area, when here in Wales, most of us are in drought conditions.
We've had Tinwheeler's "mizzle" for the last couple of days, which has just about allowed the grass to regain its colour, but certainly won't have affected the reservoir levels.
I've just seen the weather report on TV, saying that the south(east?) has had six weeks worth of rain overnight. Has it flooded the beaches with sewage again?
