Re: Weather
Oh you lot can be smug with your LIDL ice creams, its silly season down here and here is what the emmets left me to enjoy!Askit wrote:Got up to 24°c but we had few clouds here and there. It felt very warm so we had lunch at the local garden centre and then sat on our bahookies at the van. It's going to be warmer tomorrow for our trip home so an early start is on the cards.
We get our ice cream fix from Lidl too, a box of six of the things on sticks wrapped in chocolate and nuts. It costs the same for a box as most shops charge for one of the Magnum versions

Re: Weather
Snap, we had the same red sky up here but it disappeared like someone switching off a light. Another hot day ahead so need to get moving. With no rain on the forecasts it looks like the lack of water is going to get worse for a lot of folk.

Amazing isn't it the sun comes out for a few weeks and we have no water, ye, we are surrounded by the stuff!
Anyway no complaining, it s another hot and sunny day and I have plenty of Kelly's local ice cream so the World is fine.
Have a great day all

Re: Weather
Another warm start here but comfortable with fan on whilst we eat our bacon butties. I will put the fan in the sitting room to try and keep muttly cool.
Whilst we were in Lidl yesterday management found a parasol in the centre isle. It was only a fiver so she grabbed it. It’s nothing special but our patio table has a hole in it for a brolly so it will give us a bit of shade.

Re: Weather
Not a bad night helped by having the fan on in the bedroom. The tight chest and bunged up feeling like I had when I had covid seems to have come back in the mornings. I don’t think it’s covid coming back because it eases off after I have been up and had a brew.
This warm spell only makes me want to be away but the plans were made and we both feel it’s not worth trying to go early. It’s only another week.

Slept with windows open last night, when I got up at 6.30 thermostat in hall showed inside temperature as 23degrees, good luck down south as it is hot enough here and we are forecast to be about 10 degrees cooler than most of England

Re: Weather
Times like think I think we're lucky to be in an old house, generally the front (north facing) part stays relatively cool and that's where we sleep. Two lots of holiday washing out yesterday, both lots dry in an hour Expecting it to be a bit warmer today but only (ha, only) getting to 26°c. Shopping day so should be fun

Re: Weather
Really pleased for the tourists down right now that the weather is so good, local beach was packed yesterday. This time of year we just stay out of it and enjoy our own space, just taking it easy and getting a few things ready for heading off in a week or so for France and onwards.
Slightly worried about the water situation over there and whether taps will be turned off as the press report..... but then who believes anything much the press report

Re: Weather
It as hot yesterday but a pleasant 27°c with a little bit of a breeze blowing. It's forecast to be a bit warmer today so the bbq will be getting dug out for later. Bit of a beer problem though, all of the Aldi stores have run out of Steinhouser with no date for new supplies. A problem getting beer from Germany, wonder what could have caused that
Just got round to reading the bumf from the sites we were on (does anyone read the stuff?). Berwick Seaview says for cyclists, the nearest route is No1, Devon to Shetlands. Might need a few energy bars for that one

Over 30 degrees again but it feels really stuffy hot now, not wanting to be out there much even though I love the sun. Nice and cool in the office though so its back to the aires book to find some new places in Brittany and beyond.

Re: Weather
First time in 20 years I have seen the galileo thermometer in the hall with eight indicators down, 25 degrees indoors and Hog Castle rarely gets warm indoors in the summer. 30 degrees on the outside thermometer in the yard. Not the weather for gardening or doing a lot!

Dull outside right now but 19°c, forecast is for 29°c later. Ventured out into the garden ìn the late afternoon yesterday when it was cooling down a bit and will probably do the same today. All change tomorrow when we can get back to complaining about the rotten summer weather

A much cooler night in Ripon after hitting 31 yesterday, supposed to be 31 again today, hope not but sun shining brightly in a clear blue sky so probably will.

Re: Weather
I listened to an expert on the radio this morning replying to a member of the public who had commented that at least this sunny weather is producing plenty of power from the solar farms.
The expert said power produced by solar panels falls drastically at temperatures over 25 degrees.
I've never heard this before.

Re: Weather
Nor me Al. Wonder how that will work then we start getting solar from North Africa if that happens?
Anyway, another sunny one, slightly hazier start and LIDL early to return a mini tower fan I bought for the motorhome. If you are tempted don't bother, not powerful enough so bag to the big fan.
Have a great day all
