Re: Weather
I could do with a new scope, afraid my bino's too have seen better days!
Nice sunny morning, a tad cooler but good for getting on with a bit of hedge cutting then back to deep cleaning the van. Not such a chore if spread over a period of time.
Have a great day all

Re: Weather
Jings Boaby, my spotting scope cost £24 from Lidl I have got decent Nikon bins but they're too heavy to cart about when I'm carrying my camera stuff already, so I use cheap and lightweight Practica ones instead.
Still a bit overcast this morning with a strong breeze blowing. Looks like we've had some light rain already and will hit more normal temperatures at around 20°c. Apparently I've been recruited as the gardener's assistant today as a dead conifer has to be excavated

Re: Weather
13 degrees and overcast this morning, needed a jumper when I went to Asda at 7.30. Surprised to find about half the car park full of travellers caravans, parked at all angles, two vans with Irish plates, plates removed from all other vehicles and caravans, rubbish just thrown out of van doors, staff said bailiffs informed at start of week and they were supposed to have moved yesterday, were waiting on instructions for next steps

Light rain here, overnight a couple occasionally during the day so far. Temp down to 15, that's 23 less than Tuesday. Global warming ? Confused.com.

Overnight showers dampened down the dust, not enough to fill the water butts, full cloud cover,no sunrise to watch.

Re: Weather
We had quite a bit of rain yesterday, in fact it got heavy for a time during the evening. It's dry and overcast this morning but we've more rain forecast for later and the temperature has dipped a little too. Gardening duties were completed yesterday, excavating a dead conifer and some equally dead box hedging, so its a quiet day today (goodness, did I really tempt fate by saying that )

Re: Weather
Pretty sure you did Tony
Raining this morning, nothing too heavy but enough to stop any further cleaning of the van or doing anything much outside for now, although it is still 21 degrees.
All the baggage from our Canadian trip turned up yesterday, three bags, they were located in Manchester, Glasgow and Dublin. One came with DPD and two via Newquay Airport. Having been in the business for 30 years I knew how to find them but good luck to anyone that doesn't know how to get their bags back!
Best stick to the motorhome... oh and avoid Dover
Have a great day all

Re: Weather
Well done tracking your baggage down GH, the lost luggage game seems to be spreading
The rain yesterday started as annoying short showers but by evening it was persistent and heavy. This morning it's much the same with light rain and grey skies. Think I got off lightly yesterday so keeping my head down today

Re: Weather
Yesterday was dry by lunchtime, warm with warm wind, so polished and waxed van (washed it day before), looking good now. Wanted to get it done yesterday as 70% chance of rain today. Don't know how accurate that will be as sun is shining with only wispy bits of cloud across a blue sky (technical term that). Temp forecast of 22°.

Breezy mild s/w wind bringing in lots a tree leaves through the car canopy, another job.

Re: Weather
You do realise we will be wanting a picture of your efforts now Paul, about half way through doing ours but it keeps raining! Windy today as well, sorry for all the holiday makers after the last couple of hot weeks, better weather to come in a few days though I here. Still quite warm at least.Paulmold wrote:Yesterday was dry by lunchtime, warm with warm wind, so polished and waxed van (washed it day before), looking good now. Re: Weather
Sun didn't last long and turned to rain about 11am and continued for most of the afternoon. Rain beaded nicely on the van. I'll redo the black mouldings with liquid shoe polish the next dry day, last done over a year ago and still pretty good.groundhog wrote:You do realise we will be wanting a picture of your efforts now Paul, about half way through doing ours but it keeps raining! Re: Weather
Saw your prom on the news over the weekend, something to deter gulls being tried (didn't work )
Rain showers on and off all day yesterday, today looks like more of the same. The wind direction is changing to a northerly so it's becoming cooler for a few days as well.

Re: Weather
Didn't see it Tony. Was it at the Spa end ( south side) some young Gulls are on the ground now , the parents are very aggressive if anyone gets near them.
Landfill doesn't take food waste here, as it goes for composting elsewhere, so the Gulls go to the shore side and town for food.
Warm wind here now, with some light cloud cover,22 degrees in the shade.

It was close to the chippy, guy was playing sounds that were supposedly produced "scientifically" to repel gulls. He put a doughnut on a bench and played the music, the doughnut lasted a few seconds
