Re: Weather
Managed to find a pitch with shade against evening sun, pitched up for night back and sliding doors open, all roof vents open, USB fan going and Truma set to vent to keep air moving. Nearly 7.30 pm and still 31 degrees, anyone moving about site is doing so at a slow and steady pace.
Forecast even hotter tomorrow. Hopefully will well on way back to Scotland before killer heat arrives here.
Hopefully everyone can get some sleep tonight.
Take care

Re: Weather
Lovely day at the Stonie highland games yesterday, they must have been a bit worried by the early rain but it all worked out ok. Used to see loads of visitors from the Netherlands but most of those we've seen this year have been from Germany.
Started bright with a bit of hazy sunshine, forecasts for this bit of the world range from 22 to 29°c so who knows. Heading to a site down the coast later, hope there's a little coastal breeze blowing.
Take care and stay safe.

Re: Weather
It’s certainly getting warm here. I took muttly for a short walk early before it got too warm. He seemed quite happy and wanted to go farther but I still don’t have the energy for walking too far even though I now officially clear.
We have kept the curtains closed in the living room and put the fan on. Unfortunately he dosnt think much of the fan. He keeps shuffling about to get out of its way.

24 degrees overnight here, light fresh sea breeze at dawn, if it's to get hotter today then keep in the shade.
35 degrees at 5 pm yesterday, nice walk out with Tag earlier down onto the cliffs to get the breeze.
Have a nice day,keep cool.

Re: Weather
Yesterday was ok because we had a decent coastal breeze. Under normal circumstances I would had picked the worst on the site, had to choose back in February without knowledge of the place. We're shaded from the sun for most of the day by trees, so it's zero to hero for me (for a change ). Planned walk may be put on hold though, bit to hot for that.

Re: Weather
Record temps for Wales recorded 5 miles from us yesterday at 37.1°.
Much the same expected today. Tomorrow forecast is 18° , how can it change so dramatically.

Re: Weather
Got home late last night, 35degrees when we left Warrington at lunchtime,26 when we got back to Forfar. House has been shut up for two weeks so torrid night despite cooler than previous night in van, shows how vans are good at keeping cool..side windows and roofvents open and Truma on fan, pushes hotter air out through roof which can't be done at home.
Anyway drive home was comfortable with all back blinds in van closed and cab aircon on.
Just got to survive today for cooler temperature tomorrow. Spent morning moving furniture as new suite ordered in March being delivered.
Now to start emptying and cleaning the van
Take care and keep drinking

Re: Weather
Ours has been 21⁰ this morning with rain and the odd rumble of thunder. It's brightening up now but shouldn't reach anything like the 31⁰ we had yesterday.
We seem to have escaped the worst of the heat on the South Cornish coast.

32 degrees under the parasol in the back garden, sea breeze not working this afternoon, Tarmac and paths to hot for paws to walk on,so it's hand balling Tag across to the brown grass.
Have a nice day.

40...degs in rugby this afternoon.
39 Northamptonshire...I'll look forward to another lovely nights sleep.
Wish I was still at Rutland water like last weekend.
Breeze, shade and ospreys. it was bliss.

Re: Weather
Odd day here, just a few miles east of BB, in Montrose. Bit oppressive for a few minutes at a time but it's been overcast for a lot of today. We even had spots of rain this morning. At one point earlier we thought we'd be eating indoors because of the cold wind Now we're being warned about thunderstorms

Re: Weather
Honestly, I turn my back for five minutes and you lot let the weather go to pot!
31 degrees when we left Toronto and very hot under the collar when we got to Dublin and Air Canada lost all our bags, absolute chaos. Bags, buggies, bikes, surfboards even a couple of old pensioners just left in piles all over the place. Ended up flying back to Bristol instead of Newquay landing at midnight so £350 for a taxi to get home. Just remembered why we have a motorhome!
On the bright side we will not have any washing to do unless someone finds who the bags belong to
Cornwall was 28 in the shade today and a cooling breeze so altogether a good day for getting over jetlag.
Have a great evening all

Re: Weather
Nice to see your back safe and sound GH, albeit, minus your baggage, did you get your duty free though.
A few degrees lower than yesterday, with a little sea breeze which made Tag walking more comfortable,23 degrees in the shade earlier.
Looking after next doors garden veggies,so out with the watering can before breakfast.
Have a nice day, nice to see you back GH, enjoy Montrose Tony, passed though there in May.

Welcome back GH, you've not missed much
Thanks Boaby, heading home today but it was worth being here to get a look at Montrose basin. You would love it. Cooler morning but still bright, rain forecast for later so need to get sorted and on the road soon. What will the newscasters find to talk about now the weather has changed

Thanks for the welcome back, raining down here this morning, just good old Cornish mizzle but quite a bit cooler. Off to Truro this morning for essentials then next job start giving the van a deep clean as we are off to Europe in August. No idea where yet but who cares.
Have a great day all

Re: Weather
After a warm uncomfortable night it’s clouded over and a lot cooler today. For the first time since I had the mange I took muttly round the block. He thought it was good fun and got all silly. By the time we got back I was knackered. This covid thing really got me and I can see it taking a while to get back to full strength.

We used to go up to the basin from Fife bird watching in the 80's Tony, we had a wee VW camper then, so we could tuck ourselves away from the road.
Strong winds have come down from the North east bringing cloud with it, still very warm, 24 degrees inside,26 in the shade outside.
Have a safe trip home Tony.

After a stifling day yesterday (travelling to Roli's funeral) with temp touching 40, today right back to 18, just wish it would rain, water butt almost empty.

Still 30 here today
Desperate for rain as we can only use water from the, now empty, butts to fill the ponds, both 4" lower than when we last topped up to full only a few weeks ago

Re: Weather
Strange how we take things for granted, back in the late 1990s I worked in Montrose for five years and only went to take time at the basin on a couple of occasions. It is only 20 miles to Montrose from Forfar and the main reason we visit now is Charleston fruit farm just north of the town which does stupendous strawberry tarts.
Temperature down at 21 today, 10 degrees lower than yesterday. Just back from Kinross after fitting floating shelves around daughter's living room so she can display inherited Beatrix Potter ornaments. Dropped other daughter's car in at garage 9n way home to get air conditioning repaired as ATS couldn't recharge it before we went on holiday. Nearly 100 miles today with no aircon took me back to cars in my youth and 1976 in particular.
Enjoy the cooler temperatures and stay safe

Re: Weather
It looks like there are several car parks around the basin with hides at some, we walked up from the campsite (although we could have got the local bus for free with our card) so limited about where we could go. Really need a good spotting scope though, my wee bins were OK but a bit limited. Think we passed the farm BB, bit inflatable strawberry above it
Back to pretty much normal weather for the time of year, dry, bit overcast and forecast to get to 21°c later. Next few days it looks like we'll get some rain.
