A mixed day in Forest of Dean, blue sky and sun  first thing,  chucked it down around 12, then dry again, rain again between 4 and 5, then dry again, only to pour down again briefly around 7, then dry again for rest of the evening. Reached a high of 19.

A lovely bright and dry start to the day here in Skipton. It should be good for a look round the castle and grounds. Maybe do some more of the woods walks later.

Dry and fairly bright this morning with light winds but the gauge seems stuck at 16°c, mild enough but hardly summer temps. Outlook is for the wind to pick up and the showery weather to return later this afternoon. Nothing planned so no sweat.

Hope your trip to Toronto goes well and you dry off GH  up!

Almost an identical start to yesterday with light cloud, dry and bright. Little more wind and the gauge has nudged up to 17°c, whoopee  rolleyes More showers are on their way of course.

Yesterday brought a bit more sun than expected, so we live in hope. As for "nothing planned", I really should know better  Whistle1.  Our downstairs toilet cistern decided to detached itself from the wall, I was given instructions on reattaching it by the house foreperson. In the middle of completing my task, the gardener (who looks remarkably similar to the foreperson  biggrin) informed me that the electric lawnmower had "just stopped". Several hours later, dealing with an intermittent fault, I checked the RCD, extention cable, plug top fuse, mower switch assembly, carbon brushes, etc. I eventually found the fault was a break in the -ve wire but, not at either the plug or mower, half way along the cable  shrugg. Temporary repair has been done but the cable will have to be replaced, eventually  snigger

It seems to a pattern this trip with rain during the night but dry enough during the day do some walking. This morning in Pateley Bridge it was overcast with a bit of drizzle that dried up quickly.Half way round the walk it drizzled again just long enough to put our jackets on.
We decided to sit outside a cafe and share a ploughman’s for lunch. Walking back it was warm enough for an ice cream in the park without jackets or jumpers. Muttly has now taken to ice cream. He wouldn’t touch it when we were in Filey. He only licked out the tub so it shouldn’t do any harm. sit

Still hot on Vancouver Island been doing a lot of hiking and now remember how old I am. Noticeable how little wildlife is around compared to years ago and how many more homes have been built. Enjoy the GP everyone

Little change in the weather here, dry and cloudy and still 17°c. Might get better, might get worse.......who knows  shrugg

We've also noticed the apparent reduction in wildlife, more wild flowers and plenty of rabbits but hardly any butterflies and it seems there are fewer birds about. Even insects are harder to spot unless you are a fan of flies  Whistle1

Overcast here but sun trying to break through. Calm. I fear I can no longer postpone Day 1 of the annual onslaught on the laurel hedge. Must also take the van for a run  - haven't stared it for a month since back from Orkney.

I thought you were still stuck up on the islands Cymro  snigger

Bit of sun peeping through this morning and quite a bit of blue sky showing. There is still a brisk breeze blowing and a fair chance of showers. Its cool as well but things should warm up as the day progresses.

Take it easy folks   up!

This morning is a repeat of yesterday with early sunshine and very little cloud. My hopes of it warming up yesterday were unfounded as, if anything, it felt autumnal as the day wore on. It's around 15°c now on the gauge but it feels colder than that. We're promised it will improve today so we'll see  Whistle1

Hope the plumber turned up Boaby  up!

Bit overcast this morning with a stiff breeze blowing. The temp is creeping up so it may well warm up later but it's looking like another unsettled day, might be sunny, might be wet.  shrugg

Not sure if I have anything to do today, not had my instructions yet  biggrin

Plumber running late Tony, however replaced everything as required, amazing how clean everything comes up with abit of Sainburys bathroom cleaner.
Earlier start with Tag ,then of to Scarborough Puggie main dealer for a 6 year van service, had to wait until the workshop cleared the ramp due to a knackered VW.
Very windy and warm again.
Have a nice day.

Well yesterday never did warm up, in fact it as more like October/November than July. It was very cool with a strong northerly wind blowing. This morning is looking a bit better with a bit of broken cloud and plenty of blue sky. Bit warmer too at 17°c.

Got the new cable ordered for the gardener's lawnmower yesterday, she said "it looks very short, only 12m"  scratch head I fitted it, tested it, checked it was working ok and finally measured the old cable. It's 10m long, guess how much fun I got telling the gardener that  hugegrins

In Peak District for a few days before moving on to  North Wales for 10 days. Very wet and breezy night after mixed day yesterday with lots of light showers. Hoping for a less wet day today. Shorts and jumper seem appropriate  at the moment.

Have a good day

After spending five weeks in the thirties, I've retained shorts and sandles but jumper and occasional fleece have been essential this week. Hopefully warmer in Cambrigeshire over the weekend.
