Re: Weather
Turned in to a cracking day, had a nice walk followed by coffee and a long sit in the sun at Tittesworth reservoir. Looks like summer may have arrived at last.

Re: Weather
Ah BB, you heard we were stopping off at Forfar on our way to Stonie and got out of town fast, quite right
Much brighter here too yesterday, still had a coolish breeze blowing but the sun got the temps up to 20°c. Today has started in a similar fashion but we're expecting it to continue to improve as the day goes on. Going for my pneumococcal vaccine this morning and hoping for no reaction

Re: Weather
We had great weather in Stonie Tony, hope you do too, pool wasn't open when I was there.
Beautiful sunrise here and it's 24 degrees already, nice walk out in the cool fresh breeze earlier.
Tony, take a wee donder around the bay towards to old harbour theres some wee metal models of fishing boats etc, including a Viking long boat, I tried to get some photos the last time, but the sun was directly behind them. There's a wee model outside the site too!
have a great time.

Re: Weather
You'll be fine Tony. Sun always shines in Forfar, however in my view Forfar Bridies are over rated, prefer a good Cornish pasty.
Daughters are taking the moho to Stonie when we get home in a couple of weeks so they can go to midnight swimming at the outdoor pool next to the site. When at Stonie recommend Bay Chipper and Aunty Betty's ice cream , Both walking distance from site.
Warming up nicely in Peak District with promise of Wall to wall sunshine.
Have a god day.

Re: Weather
Thanks folks, we were there (Stonie) about three years ago. Almost got mugged...........by a gull that tried to nick our food off the bbq The food from the Bay was great, clever system of ordering too.
Yet again it looks like my optimism was misplaced, forecast suggests a cloudy day. Oh well, at least I'll save money on suncream

Re: Weather
Another gorgeous start to the day, with a beautiful sunrise around 5, nice cool breeze of the sea making a pleasant walk with Tag, adult gulls are diving bombing again, I have to take a large brolly with me to deter them away.
Have a nice weekend, stay safe, are you going for a wee dippie Tony.

Re: Weather
Light rain shower first thing but clouds now starting to clear. Stunning day yesterday. Onwards into Wales today. Next few days booked at CMC site near Porthmadog. Think it is six years since we were last in Wales so looking forward to it and forecast is excellent.
Have a good weekend.

Re: Weather
It’s getting warm already here. It seemed cooler last night and I managed a good nights sleep. Having the mange during this warm spell is going to be a challenge. The warmer it gets the worse my cough is getting.
Muttly is going to sulk but I don’t think walking him this morning is a god idea. People always stop and talk to us when we are out which is nice butI am supposed to be isolating.

Re: Weather
Loved the Portmadoc area although it was the 80s when we camped at Tyddyn Liwyn and there was an earthquake No swimming Boaby, I'm an officially registered wimp and the water will be too cold
Yesterday was cold and windy with occasional showers, it's looking much better this morning with plenty of blue sky. Getting sorted for the off tomorrow.

Re: Weather
Lovely summer morning with cloudless sky, birds singing in the trees, bacon being cooked outdoors all over the site. Looks like a living the dream sort of day. Easy morning then gentle drive down to Barmouth later for a walk beside the estuary.
Have a good day

There’s a nice gentle breeze here this morning so I think a short walk with muttly will be a good idea before it gets any warmer. We didn’t go out until super time yesterday because I really didn’t feel well enough. He is so understanding and must know there is something wrong because he hasn’t been pestering me to go out.

Thanks for the reminder Boaby, but the snowman can wait
Another cracking morning, remember the suncream and knotted hankie if you're going out. Fortunately the sun dropped behind some trees last night so it was a bit cooler at bedtime.

Re: Weather
Barmouth was absolutely heaving yesterday. Managed to park along at opposite end from harbour with sliding and back doors both open giving cracking views of Llyn peninsula. Moved nearer to town about 5.30pm whe tide was in but still hundreds on beach. Quick G**gle search for best chippie then joined considerable queue. Ate fish suppers back in van withsea views. Warm night with all three roof vents open, forecast even hotter today, of for a drive round Llyn peninsula stopping as the mood takes us.
Have a good day

Recently stayed on Llyn Peninsula. Avoid Pwllheli (far too busy) and Abersoch (only for the rich and famous) , go to Aberdaron and Porthor (free parking at both for NT members).Bilbobaggins wrote:Barmouth was absolutely heaving yesterday. Agree with Paul on Aberdaron, we stopped in Harlech mini Don and Barmouth too, then down to Fishguard.
North west Wales may be on the cards for next year.
Roasting hot here. Neighbour has just come back from Scarborough and its grid locked.
Have a nice day.

Re: Weather
Another warm start here but dosnt seem as hot as it’s forecast. Maybe being near the east coast help keep the air moving. After our morning stroll I put the desk fan on in the front room to keep muttly cool. He really didn’t like it oscillating but once I left it stationary he flopped down but kept an eye on it.

18 degrees here at present, slept with roof vents open and a usb fan to keep air moving in the van, worked well and had a decent sleep.
Highlight of the holiday today for me, trip in first class on Welsh Highland Railway including lunch hamper. Originally booked for April but had to cancel at short notice as SWMBO and I caught Covid which wiped me out for several weeks.
Forecast slightly cooler than yesterday but all comes under description of hot.

Great day yesterday on the Murton nature reserve, got a bit cooler as the day wore on but it was still pleasant. Not a great sleep last night though, started ok but a bit stifling, then we had rain (yes, rain), then gusty winds and finally the crows decided to entertain us It's still windy but at least it's dry so we're out for a walk. Grumpy Tony

Glad you are having a nice time in Forfar Tony. Murton have recently had a new cook who introduced some very nice cakes according to my wife who is a regular there with her coffee drinking friends
