Glad to see you made it Hog.groundhog wrote:Hi from Mount Benson BC.
Should be swimming in the lake but it is cool and raining so not even BBQ weather.
If you need to know why you have a motorhome try flying anywhere at the moment. Spent 9 hours getting from Dublin to Vancouver and another 9 hours in the airport trying to get our bags and take a 15 minute flight to Vancouver Island. We may not come back for a while!
Have a great day...or have you already had it?
I agree entirely with your comment. We've just returned from a months tour of France in the van using the Newhaven /Dieppe crossing. No hold ups whatsoever, and coincidentally we were amongst the first few vehicles off the ferry both ways!
Compare this to my son and his family who booked an expensive week in Turkey last month. Arrived at Stanstead 3 hours early as required, checked in, then informed the flight would be delayed by several hours. Seven hours later the flight was cancelled altogether and along with all the other passengers they had to retrieve their luggage and were bussed to a hotel in Cambridge.
Back to the airport next day and repeat..., they finally arrived at their hotel in Turkey 36 hours after they should have checked in...
Ok, there will be compensation, but it was a holiday ruined.
I just hope things are sorted by the time we next fly in December...
Al.

We've been around 38 for the last few days and forecast to continue for a few more. Fortunately drops to about 24 overnight.

Re: Weather
This is the only way I can get to post earlier in the morning than Boaby!
Getting much warmer here now, summer will start on Thursday when temperatures will hit the mid to high twenties and it is unlikely to rain then for a couple of months. Just the way it works. Went on our friend Mike's boat out of Nanoose today, whale and eagle watching, fabulous way to spend the morning, looking for humpbacks and orcas but today they feeding somewhere else. Hope to go out again soon and do some salmon fishing for the BBQ.
Enjoy your travels wherever you are!

Re: Weather
Good to see you're getting into it GH Very warm in the Lakes yesterday with wall to wall sunshine, bbq is getting worked overtime. The forecast for today is warm and cloudy but all I can see is blue sky with a little cloud. Nice site at Braithwaite, last here 20 years ago when it was Scotgate

Sunny again here too, already feeling very warm outside. The navigator decided that we needed another short (long) walk yesterday, to a tearoom which just happened to have a gallery and crafts Hard luck we were walking and couldn't carry stuff back

Re: Weather
A warm start to the day here. Muttly won’t be going far after our morning walk. We have to go to Tesco to get a certain crab salad for managements friend but that’s it. I will wait until it’s cooled down a bit before getting packed for off on Sunday.

Thought I would get a rest today but the navigator was having none of it. Very hot today again, clear skies all day but a little cloud heading in now. 10 days and we've not seen a drop of rain.

Last night's rain didn't amount to much. This morning is rather dull, supposed to be a little cooler than yesterday with max temp of 22.

Re: Weather
Yes, same with the rain in the Lakes last night, this morning it was back to bright sunshine but the forecast suggested that will change later. Back home OK, thanks Boaby. Weather here is warm and dry so the first bit of holiday washing is going out, or at least it will go out when I take it

Re: Weather
That is tragic Boaby, hope it clears up soon.
Scorching hot in BC today, there is a health warning out for the Island over the weekend for extreme heat before it falls back to mid 20's next week. Walked some of the forest trails today, a little cooler in the shade of the trees. Plenty of eagles flying overhead, loads of deer and rabbits but no sign of any bears.
Enjoy your travels everyone and hope it stays good for you all. Glad you made it home safely Tony.
