Not a bad day in general, not Stottin yet, forecasted for over night though, repairing some wooden fence panels until I can get them replaced.

Apart from strong winds, turned out a rather nice warm and sunny day, just one short sharp shower (so far).Paulmold wrote:Very windy night, no rain , rather dull start, probably same at home as not that far away.

Lovely morning with light cloud and a little wind. All downhill as the day progresses with lots of the rain on the way from the south. At least it's getting warmer.

Re: Weather
Yes it is on the way people, cleared through here about 8am heading your way! Some breaks in the cloud now with a bit of sunshine but dry. Still the chance of a shower but forecast looking better.
Time for the van to have its weekly bath and airing out.

Re: Weather
Simply a grey morning, no sun and a bit of mizzle, ended up painting the bathroom ceiling yesterday so maybe today the van will get a bath. Stay safe and enjoy your travels over Easter, we will be at home in Cornwall if anyone gets stuck and are down here.

Much brighter morning, dry and the temperature is judging up to 14°c. Next few days look like staying the same so might get some things done outside.

Re: Weather
Love your posts Boaby, have to keep googling things to see what they are.....switched eggs being the latest. Come to think about it right now with a bit of bacon they would go down well!
Dry and a bit overcast today, should brighten up later so probably OK to do some painting outside, its a job that has to be done every year because of all the trees around us, the walls will go green and mouldy in a heartbeat. Still haven't washed the van, sidetracked yesterday by Lady G to finish building her outside storage unit which I started over a year ago.

Re: Weather
Glad I'm not the only one that had to Google switched egg, even Google seemed confused and gave me egg in a cup recipes.
Weather not so good today, despite forecast it's a lot cooler and dull. Just taken van for just a gas safety check, won't let me wait in van , could be an hour , could be all day, they'll just do it when they can depending on how other work goes, so I'm killing time, don't know how many coffees I can get through as I wander around.
Update- only 1 coffee later and job done. All OK.

Re: Weather
I was going to say that the number of coffees (or indeed my other beverages) taken should be measured against the distance and availability of the nearest toilet
My mother used the term switched eggs, we were too sophisticated to do that I think it stems from the word for a flexible stick or whip
Oh yes, and our dry day has turned to rain.

Not a happy man, ordered a part from Screwfix on Sunday for next day pick-up and got no SMS. Contacted them on "chat" and they apologised and promised it would be available Tuesday but to wait for the SMS. Since then, nothing. Toolstation have what I want in stock for immediate pick up so I'm ordering from them and cancelling the other

Re: Weather
Grey and dismal start to the day, back from the early morning shop and roads very quiet, that wont last once the emmets arrive in a few hours. Still haven't managed to wash the van, why does everything take twice as long to do as you get older.
On that subject, we have been looking for a smaller place for a couple of years now, this place is getting hard work and two of us just don't need six bedrooms and four bathrooms. Trouble is finding something smaller so investigations start today to build a smaller place by releasing a half acre plot from here. Good morning for looking at plans until the mizzle stops!

Lovely sunny morning but no warmer than yesterday. Might try for a trip to the storage unit to rearrange the dirt on the van. You guys who can do this at your leisure don't know how lucky you are.

Re: Weather
Overcast, drizzly and zero wind to clear it away. Away from the coast things are better I believe!
Enjoy rearranging the dirt Tony, you are right being able to keep the van at home makes all the difference. We all use our vans so differently, we haven't been away in ours since last August (France) although it gets used as a day van probably once a week. If we couldn't keep it at home it would have to go.
We are really looking to downsize where we live but the van is the big problem and restricts the options, irony is of course when you downsize house the van will be used more as there is not so much to do at home!
Looks like an upcoming trip weather permitting at the end of the month, not far, Devon, Somerset, ideas on the back of a £10 note please!

Re: Weather
Bit overcast this morning but dry so far and still getting warmer. Looks like it will turn a bit showers for the next few days.
Stage one done yesterday, problem is that I have to take everything I need with me including water. Washed the birdy do dahs off the van and got it looking a bit more respectable, from ground level at least. The roof needs done but I'll tackle that in due course when I figure a plan of attack. Back over today to deal with some of the inside stuff. Hoping we might get away next week.
It's been a long time since we holidayed down that way GH but our favourite place was Berrynarbor in north Devon, might be a bit far for you?

Re: Weather
Another bright start to Easter Sunday. Happy Easter folks.
Once Muttly has been walked it’s back to the decorating in the dinning room. Management dropped a classic yesterday saying if we are having Sunday dinner we will have to get the decorating finished. I managed 2/3 of the room allowing for furniture shuffling yesterday but I don’t see me finishing by lunch time. Also if our son appears for lunch I intend to sit out on the decking and share a beer with him whilst the weather is nice.
This is why it’s called domestic warfare. She wants it done but can’t resist finding fault or trying to help. I would rather run off in the van any day.

Re: Weather
Thanks Tony, we have a son who lives near Berrynarbor by coincidence, we like it there too, at the moment I am thinking of Dulverton C&MC site, somewhere that has escaped the travels so far.
Not a bad morning, dry with light cloud and little wind so walk round the village, takes about an hour and I get to drool over the classic cars in the local garage. Beaches and Easter holidays are not good bed fellows, they will be rammed.
Yesterday turned out glorious later in the day after the mizzle had cleared, out till after 8pm doing a bit of gardening with just bird song for company as the warm sun went down. Bliss.
