Re: Weather
Overnight rain cleared by 5, managed a short walk down the front before the showers started again.
Grey and overcast at the moment, coming up your way soon Tony, ( East Coast) looking forward to some fudge doughnuts in Markinch.
Have a nice day.

Re: Weather
Another fairly overcast sky but dry so far. The predicted 17°c yesterday never materialised, it mild enough to sit out for a while but a cold breeze chased us back indoors. We did have a nice walk yesterday and we hope to get a bit further today, might even find a place to have lunch on the way.

Re: Weather
Enjoy the walk Tony!
Spells of brightness down here today, not venturing out as everywhere is going to be rammed being bank holiday so back up the scaffolding and painting. How the other half live eh!
Still planning a quick trip in the van at some point, not too far, may have to wait a couple of weeks though.
Have a great day all

Re: Weather
Few spots of rain yesterday but not enough to water the garden, more painting today and staining of hardwood windows, takes bleddy ages! At least it is dry if a little overcast and a reasonable 13 degrees.
Back to Canada (again! ) next month so need to get everything done before going, then France in late August hopefully, busy year ahead

Re: Weather
Had a good walk yesterday and got back for a BBQ before the rain started about 6pm. It stopped sometimes in the early hours and it's now dry but overcast.
On our walks over the last week or so we've been quite taken aback by the amount of trees damaged by the winter storms, mostly Arwen. Very sad to see the very mature ones blown over and how the winds ripped through forests tearing young trees down. Unfortunately a long stay caravan on this site was hit by one and badly damaged.

Rain right through the night and into this morning, no chance of it letting up until this evening. Packing up to go home so I might get a bit damp

Something different next time, Newquay to Dublin, so over Pembrokeshire coast then up the Irish Sea, overnight, fly from Dublin early next day! Huge saving in cost, not going for a few weeks yet though.burlingtonboaby wrote:

Sparkling blue skies this morning after a rousing dawn chorus, like a snowstorm outside with all the seeds coming off the trees, making painting hard as they keep sticking to it. 10 degrees overnight and looking good for a decent day so looks like siesta this afternoon will be in the yard with a sun hat and inspection of the inside of the eyelids required.
Have a great day all

Change of fortune, rain stopped and the sun came out so done, dusted and ( best of all) dry.

Re: Weather
A damp start to the day here but fairly warm. By the time I got back from the dentist it had dried up for muttlies walk.
The freshly cut damp grass made him sneeze and go all silly. As much as I like the smell of fresh cut damp grass it dosnt warrant me sniffing it like he does.
After the earlier agro with the dentist todays visit was quite an anticlimax so I am in a better mood for some workshop time this afternoon. I have a couple of things that I want to finish before we go away next Monday.

Re: Weather
I was all set to come in from the workshop for a brew at three but the heavens opened. I couldn’t hear the radio it was so heavy. Whilst I waited for the rain to ease off three wasps appeared even thought the door was closed.
We made it across to Lidl before the next shower but there’s been a couple of heavy ones this evening. I hope things settle down for our trip. Big wet hairy dogs are not god in close confines of a motorhome.

Mild and wet here, not heavy but enough to be annoying. Should clear later but we've got the shopping to do this morning. Life us just full of fun

Re: Weather
A lovely bright and warm start to the day here. Muttly spent ages mooching round the garden after he had some breakfast. The rain has topped up the bird bath so he had a drink before coming back in. Rain water from the bird bath must be a past trait and probably the reason he had a bladder problem.
Nothing planned today other than our son calling round latter. He is working up to us going away so it will be nice to see him before we go away.

Re: Weather
Bit of drizzle this morning, hopefully it will clear up as the day wears on. Still on the mild side though. Yesterday became quite bright and pleasant.
Mr Fox came into the garden for a sleep yesterday, stayed about 3 hours moving from one place to another. My wife went out the back door several times and they exchanged eye contact but he just went back to sleep

Re: Weather
Pretty good day today, woke early to the sound of dawn chorus, looked out the window and a fawn was casually wandering about. early shop all very quiet, a big ALDI just opened, soon to be joined by a LIDL both within a few hundred yards of the existing Sainsburys so I think they will lose a lot of custom.
Managed to get the grass cut, putting the scaffolding back up tomorrow and the next round of painting begins, can't wait.
Have a great evening all.

Dull, drizzly day here, no sign of the Mediterranean temperatures forecast for some areas and by the afternoon pouring rain.

Re: Weather
Dry and a bit overcast but we've been promised an improving day, weatherwise. Yesterday turned out quite pleasant and the gardener hung a washing out and was doing a bit of weeding when she, and the washing, got drenched. They were subjected to a short, but very heavy, torrential downpour.
She was not very happy and it appears it was all my fault

Re: Weather
Of course it was your fault Tony, stands to reason only a man could make that happen.
Beautiful sunny morning here, threatens to be a good day on the scaffolding, Lady G has even volunteered to paint the lower walls of the house, whoopee.
Mind you she did just mention that a delivery of new clothes for her were coming today and there was this bracelet she had seen...
