Weather

It was bright but breezy first thing but the rain has started and the wind has picked up. 
Someone’s recycling bin has tipped over spilling coke and water bottles on to the street. The wind is straight down the street so they are blowing past our house. Some are wedged under our front hedge or the car. I even found one at the front of the Rienza on the drive. I have picked up quite a few but the rest are heading for the forecourt of the Toyota dealers across the main road. I don’t see  the bin men picking them up.

Cloudy and dry so far but more rain on the way. Still around 10°c but the cold stuff up north is heading our way so tomorrow it will be below freezing. Got the shopping to do today, assuming there's anything in the shops to buy. All week the news has been reporting shortages of this, that or the next thing.

I don't need the next thing but we definitely need this and that 

Sunshine and showers, 9 degrees and quite a stiff breeze but threatens to be a useable day.
Putting up scaffolding today ready for Spencer to come and scrape the upper rooves for me, there is no way I am spending days up there this time. Sure though, I will end up doing all the ground work and carting several loads of moss, twigs and leaves off to the tip!
Bullfinches and Chaffinches in the garden this morning and woodie hammering away in a nearby tree so a good start to the day!

Really heavy downpours hamering against the windows, been like it since yesterday afternoon with squally winds. In-between the downpours the sun shines brightly. 
Also shopping day here, no noticeable shortages in Tesco or Aldi lately but Lidl has been a waste of time for three weeks now.

Fair stottin doon  the now, really heavy too!  Knocked all the daffies to hell,not a day for roofing.
A neighbour had his roof tiles replaced last week,the workmen wore shorts.im still in mole skins.

A bright chilly start this morning. Early start today taking management to the doctors for a blood test. Last time she had her prescription review they had run out of bottles for taking bloods. 
We will have breakfast out and then come home to take muttly for his walk.

Forecast was spot on, sunny morning and frosty outside. Just heard the bad news about frost affecting the vineyards in France, so much so that last year was the worst for many years. Champagne production was down 40%, goodness me, what will we do 

I thought champagne was for smashing over the front of boats when they are launched, can't think of any other reason to use it.  
Wet and soggy old start to the day, out for the shopping at 0730, spent about 50% more this week than normal and don't see anything extra in the bag. Sun is just breaking through now though so promisies to be good later.

Visitors coming for the weekend so that will be fun, mind you it will be better Sunday evening when they leave. Grumpy old man.....moi?

Frost cleared when the sun came up, lots of wee birds in the back garden, frog spawn has spread out,hopefully we will see some more tadpoles this year,that's if the newts don't get to them first.

Another plan altered as per normal in theses times. As we put our foot out of the door the doctors called to cancel the appointment with the nurse, she is off sick. Come back in two weeks.
No matter we had breakfast at the meridian line in Cleethorpes watching the boats on the river. It was chilly but nice just be able to sit and chill out. By the time we got back via a top up shop Muttly was glad to be out. A mate of his met him and showed how dim he really is. If he sees another dog he lies down. Not clever when you are crossing the road. The cars had to go round him until they got him up.   

Cold frosty morning,beautiful sunrise down on the cliffs earlier, gulls are pairing off as both of us (Tag) were getting dive bombed this morning.

Dry and brightish morning and the temperature is creeping towards double figures. Got a few things to do indoors but the gardener wants to go out for a few things and, apparently, my presence is required 

A nice bright start here and slightly warmer. It looks like domestic warfare is on cards when we come home from our trip next week. After muttly has had his his walk we have to go to find new curtains and paint for the dinning room. 
When we bought this house the idea of doors out to the garden to enjoy the view up the garden when the sun is on the garden was a big seller. Unfortunately it means curtains will be rather costly.

Took our guests down to Flushing today, lovely sunny day and not too windy, village was not too busy, felt as though we were on holiday ourselves. Looks like a good day tomorrow so maybe get on with a few more jobs outside.
So many contrails in the sky today, most from Paris across the pond to the US or from Dublin heading south. Only a few more weeks and we will be in Dublin heading to Vancouver, hope they clear the delays by then. One day I will get to actually use the big white box thing parked outside for a holiday

Very mixed day, started heavy rain, hail, sharp showers then after lunch lovely and sunny. Still clear blue sky but that means a minus score tonight.

Clear sky and sunny this morning, a little frost and quite cool though. I cleared a cupboard of old camera equipment yesterday and it felt good. This decluttering lark could become my new hobby

Another bright if a bit chilly start to the day. After muttlies walk I will start getting ready for off in the morning. No matter what the weather next week we are going. It will only be three nights but it will do for now.

Sunny morning but a stiff breeze blowing up the river, looking like rain is coming later.
Had a really great day yesterday, management tells me we are off to the garden centre shortly, not my favourite visit but hey ho!

Dry with some light cloud and a little warmer. Seems to be the trend although the rise in temperature will bring some wetter weather as the week goes on.

I hope none of our forum members are stuck in the queue at Dover. According to the transport minister the problem has been caused by an unexpected rise in demand.
At Easter and with the school holidays starting, who'da thought 

To quote Boaby, "fair stottin doon" at the moment with thunder rumbling away in the background. Threatens to improve later but its batten down the hatches for now!
