Re: Weather
No rain or snow yesterday, got a bit cloudy but it was bitterly cold in the north wind. Today has started sunny and bright but it's still very cold with more to come tomorrow.
Getting a new radiator fitted next week, as this is the second (one failed about three years ago) to go, we've got to decide whether to get them all replaced. With 10 to do we might have to sell the family silver

Nice walk out with Tag along the promanard again, headed towards Sewerby cricket grounds and back in for porridge.

Re: Weather
Sunny with a little frost again, still very cold but the wind has dropped a bit. We had to nip out to Lidl and Morrisons yesterday, it did seem like several drivers and many customers took the name of the day quite literally. There was some bizarre behaviour out there

Re: Weather
The weather seems to have taken a break here with a bright start to the day. Hopefully I will be able to get the fence panel changed this weekend. I originally thought I would re treat the bits of the shed behind the fence but after this weeks weather it will be too wet to do that. No matter I will do it with the spray gun later in the year.

Re: Weather
Sunshine and showers this morning, back from having a hair cut so feeling light headed now. Woodpecker hammering away as I drove in, 6 degrees at the moment but feels warmer with no wind.
Not a day for doing much outside but a few jobs indoors to get on with.

Re: Weather
I stared replacing the fence panel with jumper and fleece on but being in the shelter of the shed the fleece came off. It was quite pleasant out of the wind but I didnt quite allow for the breeze swinging the new panel round at the critical point of balance when it was perched on the wall. At the time I had one foot on the wall and one on the step ladders.
My sore wrist from muttly knocking me over ages ago now throbs and my other thumb has a large bruise. No matter I should know better with any form of domestic warfare or garden jobs.

Re: Weather
No frost here but the gauge is hovering just above freezing. Sunny and bright start but it looks like change is on the way for later. Schools are out here for the next two weeks so we'll be keeping a low profile for the same period of time
Take it easy folks.

Re: Weather
It’s been a brighter day here but the breeze is cold. This morning was quite productive without trying to do my self any harm.
We have palm trees half way down the garden that have always had dead fonds that lie all over the floor and the bottom half of the palms had lots of dead fonds. I managed to pull off the dead fonds and bin half of them into the garden bin. The rest can go in when the bin has been emptied next.
I thought we had two palm trees but we have five altogether. Not my choice but they have been there since we moved here.
The ballad of Annie Palmer from Johnny Cash comes to mind. Maybe that’s were the lady we bought the house from planted here ex husbands.

Re: Weather
Strong winds last night and some heavy rain. It's dull and dank this morning with a smirr of rain in the air but at least the temperature has jumped up a bit. Hope you've been out to the supermarket to get your sunflower oil before the hoarders get it all

Re: Weather
Its certainly warmer this morning if a bit damp. It must have rained last night because the grass was wet on our walk. Muttly started sneezing after sniffing the wet grass. He has a big nose so he must have got a good nose full of wet grass smells.

Dank old day, no sun just mizzle. Dentist this morning, still getting over the shock, check up and visit to the hygienist for two of us ....£280! "See you in six months"....oh no you wont, I will see you in a year or so.
Good news is there was the consolation of a trip to Costa Coffee and our card had enough points to get them for free, one win then.

Re: Weather
Steady rain with no sign of it letting up here, more for the next few days although we might miss the snow forecast for the north east of Scotland.
I like my tea in the morning (after my porridge, obviously ), but it seems we have bought a rogue box of Tetley tea bags. After getting a mouthful of tea leaves (almost as bad as a bit of shell in an egg sandwich ) I'm now inspecting each bag for signs of damage.
Mis- cut tea bags, what is the world coming to

Re: Weather
You can keep that rain and snow t'other side of Exeter up North there! Sunny skies this morning with passing clouds, dry and 13 degrees so a day for strimming, mowing and blowing
Lady G Makes her pogga (aka Porridge or vomit) the night before and puts it in the fridge overnight then gets it out and eats it cold with lots of fruit in the morning, is that allowed as aficionados of this delicacy?
I have an Uncle who is now 102 and he cooks his then puts it on the window cill outside to cool down, maybe that is the right way to go.
Have a great day all and watch out for that rain and snow!

Re: Weather
I'm sure the forecast suggested there was a little of the white stuff heading for the south coast towards the end of the week The frosts have played havoc with out Camellias, lots of the flowers have died and turned brown.
I'm a great believer in letting people eat what they want, how they want. I wouldn't leave my porridge on the sill outside though, the pigeons would be off with it

Re: Weather
Looks like we've had plenty of rain overnight, I was certainly noisy with the blustery wind. Showers this morning with more to come as the day wears on. Forecast is for the temperatures to nosedive again towards the weekend
Getting our new radiator today so confined to barracks.

Damp and quite windy today, not a great outdoor day so perfect for going through all the "stuff" that is ready to go back in the motorhome. Hope the radiator fitting goes well Tony.

Another wet night, eased of around 5, enough of a window to get Tag out for a very brief donder, rain showers coming in now.
