Re: Weather
Sounds delicious Boaby. 7 degrees and not raining so far. May even get a chance to take the van somewhere to stretch our legs.
Have a great day all.

Re: Weather
Dry and a mostly clear sky with no frost, gauge says it's 7°c outside. We're expecting rain later so it'll be all change again. No matter, plenty to do indoors today

Re: Weather
Only 4 degrees here this morning but a dry night for a change (high of 7 expected today). Getting away today for first trip of year, only 2 nights at a canal side site a mile from the town, only 45 minutes from home. Usually go to Lady Margarets at Chirk for first trip but it's closed for refurbishment until September.

Re: Weather
Yes, have a good trip Paul We're in Boaby's softies club, we were out shopping in the driving rain on Thursday and my wife reminded me of why we stopped going away in January. A trip to a miserably dark and very wet Lake District and we decided that we'd be more comfortable at home
Rain arrived as predicted, horsing it down now.

Re: Weather
We used to always do Clumber Park on first weekend of year and for the last ten years of been to Great Boughton for ACCEO committee meetings but for a (not covid related) reason we are having to Zoom that meeting this year. We nearly went to Castleton for last week but just before pressing the button to book I checked the weather and it didn't look great for walking. We did have a nice day at Carsington Water last Wednesday.

Clear blue sky and glorious sunshine by the canal. Cold outside but snug inside as we get some lunch.

Re: Weather
We have had some mixed weather whilst we have been in Derbyshire varying in sleet, heavy rain heavy snow and high winds. I suppose we deserved it by going to the western side of the country in January. Not helped by being on a site on top of a hill with a direct line to the Irish Sea.
After stoping at Cromford Mill it was grey and drab all the way home.

Just getting light here, looks dull and dry outside but 9°c. Forecast is for several bands of rain heading our way from the west. Still painting so we're not going out anyway

Re: Weather
A glorious day yesterday, a little rain overnight but today forecast is for 13 degrees, little dull so far , hoping for that warmer temperature for a walk along towpath into town for coffee and you never know I might even treat her to lunch out.

Re: Weather
Enjoy your travels guys, sounds a great idea to me. Warm and overcast here today, currently 13 degrees and little wind. Had more blood tests this morning and this afternoon taking a trip up to Newquay to the tile centre, had to check google earth for how to get there! Usually somewhere best avoided unless you are a tourist.
Lots of ducks around again down by the river so that is lovely to see, not the greatest at identifying all the breeds, one day I must make the effort! Really does feel like Spring is here but sure Mother Nature will have a slap in the face waiting to be doled out before then.
Have a great day all

Still a sub tropical 11 degrees, cloud cover is 100% but fairly high. Dry with very little wind.
Hunting for tiles again this morning, not many choices way down here, if no success it will be looking online!

I expect you've tried Topps at Treliske, GH. I can't think of anywhere else other than Topps at Penzance, Bodmin.....et al.groundhog wrote:Still a sub tropical 11 degrees, cloud cover is 100% but fairly high. Dry with very little wind.

That was news to me, GH, so I can’t tell you anything about them I’m afraid but thanks for the info.
I see they’re on the Holmbush estate.

Re: Weather
No frost this morning for first time in over a week. Promises to be a day where should be able to get out of the house. Planning to build a box to cover and protect the Shurflo pump I finished installing last week so I don't lose too much storage space under offside bed.
Have a good day.

Another dry and clear morning, a little cooler but still no frost. Waiting for our new fridge freezer to get delivered, some time between 7am and 7pm with a phone call 30 minutes before they come. That's us confined to barracks until they turn up

Re: Weather
Turned into a dull and dreary day but still dry at least and 11°c. Fridgefreezer arrived at 8.45am, three hours later I was still trying to finish swopping the hinges so it can open the other way. One of the middle hinge screws would not come out, tried all the usual tricks but it would not budge. Ended up having to drill the out
