Re: Weather
My SiL lives in Richmond so we've been getting updates from her and her husband. Hopefully the extreme hot weather will pass.
Another lovely day here, the whistles appear to have been confiscated but the paddling pool hasn't sprung a leak.........yet

Re: Weather
Usually take the seaplane from Richmond to Nanaimo, very handy for YVR. Much cooler today according to daughter today, great relief but the concern now I believe is the potential for fires. Hopefully it will not happen.
Lovely warm sunny afternoon here today, busy this evening otherwise it would have been a walk round the village.
That paddling pool sounds like a good idea. Wonder what Tag would make of it?

Fresh breeze coming of the coast and overcast. Long walk out with Tag along the coastal path, not to many folk about this morning.
Lots of young gulls about, some unfortunately have been ran over,
Sad really.
Have a nice day.

Re: Weather
Another hot one ahead, already 19°c with clear skies. Forecast suggests it will all be back to normal at the weekend with some rain and cooler temperatures. Obviously the person in charge if the weather knows we are away next week and arranging appropriate conditions for us or ,

Morning all
Good dry start to the day, roads were very busy at 0730am on the way to the weekly shop, looks like being another warm one. Clean the van today ready for MOT and service tomorrow. Its Canada Day today so may have to partake in a few drops of WHISKEY this evening. Have a great one!

Re: Weather
It’s supposed to be June but it feels more like February. It was grey and damp yesterday but to day it’s even colder and grey.
My idea of a couple of days away next week might not be a good idea unless it warms up a bit. I don’t want poor old muttly getting cold.

Re: Weather
Lovely sunrise here too, badger has been busy grubbing in the lawn again and it looks like someone has attacked it with a pickaxe!
Van off for the MOT this morning, chance to actually use it as it is a thirty mile round trip.
Looks to be another hottie so make the most of it.

Re: Weather
Good luck with the MOT
Think we're on the last day of wall to wall sunshine, showers tomorrow with some heavier stuff coming on Sunday. Had to chase the squirrel out of the garden yesterday, it digs up plants and tracks the bird feeders. Recently we found two of them ones hooked to our pear tree on the ground and the squirrel was identified as the culprit. It's been exonerated (of that at least) as we caught a magpie in the act.
They have now been fixed to the tree with wires (the feeders, not the magpies )

Magpies must be spreading all over the country Tony, I watched them attack a young collared dove at the site in Yarmouth, plenty of them on other sites too.Askit wrote:Good luck with the MOT

Re: Weather
Quite a lot of magpies down this way too, watched another dogfight between three buzzards and a flock of gulls this afternoon, they really do go for it, pretty spectacular though.
Van serviced and MOT passed with no problems or advisories so all good, £260 which questions the myth Mercedes are expensive, traffic horrendous this afternoon and the main hols haven't started yet. Good sunny day but the skies are darkening now and storms threatened for the weekend.

Watched a family of Swifts zooming through the sky above my head 10 minutes ago, like something out of Star Wars .
Low sea cloud coming in again after a nice clear and sunny day.

Re: Weather
Good news on the van GH
The rain arrived early yesterday, hard luck on anyone with a planned BBQ as it hammered down at teatime. It's dry with light cloud, and still fairly warm, but we're expecting showers later. Hard luck, especially when there's nothing on the telly up here

Re: Weather
I think next weeks break is going to be moved on a week judging by the weather. This evening it turned really muggy and threatened a storm.
Just before I took muttly for his evening walk the storm broke for about an hour. When the rain stopped we set off. It was still thundering but he didn’t seem to be bothered. Probably too meany damp grass smells.

Re: Weather
Dry start but still overcast and muggy. Yesterday was the same, some around here had enough rain to cause flash flooding but we got a single shower that lasted all of 15 minutes. I think there will be more today so it's an indoors day for us.
