Re: Weather
We had a bit of a thaw yesterday so the pavements are covered in slush. Still cold with sub zero temperatures and rain or snow forecast for later, which you get is a lottery according to the forecasters

Starlit sky here last night too, back from the old peoples shopping trip, Sainsburys and Asda today and both very quiet. Light cloud now and 6 degrees so wash the car today I think. Have a nice day all

Tony.... where are you, if you don't mind me asking ......purely for a weather point of interest. We had about 2 inches overnight Wed/Thurs but it was thawing during the day and we got the paths/driveway cleared. It has crisped up overnight again.
Cheers Bob

No problem Bob, without being too specific we are just outside the south east Glasgow boundary, handy for the M8,M73 and M74 We're just back from a short walk (straight from, and back to, our front door) and the pavements are thick with rutted ice difficult to negotiate. There does seem to be a thaw on still but who knows what the next weather front will bring.

Turned out really sunny this lunchtime, over dressed for our walk out and came back roasting.

Heavy rain overnight so all the gunge has been washed away. Dry now but there are very dark clouds on the horizon and a strong wind blowing

Re: Weather
Rained quite a bit last night but drying up now, still very mild at 9 degrees and clear blue patches. Has the makings of a pretty good day. Surf is about six to eight feet and clean, oh to be twenty years younger without a bad back and smashed up legs!
Enjoy your day wherever you are, stay safe and stay warm in the frozen North

Re: Weather
Sleet turned to heavy rain around 5, managed to get Tag out around 3.30 before the sleet started.
Rain battering of the canopy roof, abit like being in our old Sigma when it rained.
Stay warm and safe, still no snow.

Came from a closing down scrapyard here in town, such a shame its closed was full of interesting junk!
Originally from Cromer golf course, one of a pair, friend has the other one, horse drawn.
Cleverly its a one piece casting in cast iron, work out what the mould must have looked like?
I modelled it as accurately as possible in Inventor, then weighed it (yes you can!!) it is 1150 Kg
I like it too, a lot, some peasants have asked why do you have that rusty old thing in your garden................probably like FB or Twitter!!

Shepherd's warning.
Cold, dry and enough blue in the sky to make a sailor a pair of trousers here.

A lovely bright winter morning here.I think we have enough blue sky to make a spare pair of trousers. Hopefully there’s enough sun today to put something in the leisure batteries. They were down a bit yesterday when I was checked the heater problem.

Sunny and eight degrees here, off for a walk to get the creaking old bones moving and then back to remove two laurel bushes, best done with a mini digger but no room to get one in even if I had one!!

Have you tried a come a long GH, or winch as Its called here, providing you have a good anchor point it's amazing what you can remove.groundhog wrote:Sunny and eight degrees here, off for a walk to get the creaking old bones moving and then back to remove two laurel bushes, best done with a mini digger but no room to get one in even if I had one!!

I thought the name come along was a US ,Canadian term for a hand operated winch GH. , my first experience with them was in The prairies near Edmonton.groundhog wrote:Thanks Boaby

I dragged a wee jeep out a muddy hole, I had one in our garage for years until my son took it with him up to Resipol.
Really cold now, still clear.
