Weather

A cooler and overcast start here this morning. Our solar fountain has needed topping up most days especially if it’s been breezy so if the forecast showers appear I won’t bother topping it up today. 
Hopefully it will clear up by tomorrow because we have been invited to a christening and garden party. We havnt had the need to dress posh since daughter’s wedding a year ago. Management has bought a new posh frock but I will find something from the depths of my wardrobe. I don’t get the the idea of buying something new just for one occasion but without causing flack that’s a woman thing I suppose. 

Just started raining so indoors stuff this morning. Management has first aid course this afternoon to keep qualified as a Guider so peaceful afternoon in store

Garage door guy has been, fitted new motor and door still not working. New control box to be ordered from Germany on Monday. Might have it working by Christmas

Dry and sunny again after overnight rain, started the day clearing out a cupboard as it was raining now wish I hadn't started as it has turned out warm and very useable.
Probably keep off the roads this weekend although I don't think it has been a very good tourist season. What was the old gatehouse to where we live is a holiday rental (not ours!) and there has hardly been anyone in it, empty at the moment. I would love to see it sold again and used as a home by someone that cares about it rather than as it is.
Looks like it may be a good week ahead, hoping so!

Turned into a nice dry sunny day after a crap start, nice day down at Fraisthorpe beach, very busy with trippers and of lead dogs, Cowshed was busy.

A bright and warm start today. Early bacon butties before walking muttly then change for our day out. From what our daughter said about the little girl that’s being christened today it’s going to be fun day. She insisted on going to her ballet lessons in her wellies last week. 

If she lived up here she would need her wellies for most things   It dry just now but we have rain on the forecast for most of today with the high being just 14°c. Our next trip is in the planning stages but it's hard to work up enthusiasm when it feels so damp and dreary outside 

Haven't worn wellies apart from pressure washing for years, shorts are compulsory until at least mid October.
Warm and dry start, cleaning gutters today and Lady G has a white wash to go out so hope it stays that way.

It’s been a lovely sunny day but it was certainly breezy. We spent the afternoon in a gazebo on the lawn. From were we were there is nothing but flat fields from the Lincolnshire Wolds to the North Sea. 
The christening was a nice service. For a five year old the little girl was very well behaved and helped the minister with the service. The last christening we went to was our daughter meany years ago. 
Before we came home we were given a huge bag of apples, tomatoes and a huge cucumber. Considering I am the only one that eats cucumber it’s going to be a challenge to eat it before it goes off. There’s not meany things I can think of to do with a cucumber.

Sticking to culinary uses for cucumbers one if my favourites is remove seeds, cut into small chunks, sprinkle with sea salt and lime juice. Nice to nibble on instead of crisps or nuts

Wife is still nibbling through her bumper crop of cucumbers too BB, she has grown berpless zeplin this year, very tasty.
No rain here yet, turned mild this afternoon, heavy dark clouds rolling in from the west.

Tzatziki, with a Greek salad and pita or deseeded, sliced then lightly pickled with cider vinegar and caster sugar for the cucumbers. Yesterday's forecast underestimated how strong the wind would be and how heavy the rain was. I've just been out to rescue or bins, all blown over last night. Still cold today but the early rain should move away to leave it drier at least until tonight when the next front moves in.

A nice bright and sunny morning for our meander . After leaving muttly yesterday he was in a sulk this morning. He blanked the westie from across the road. She is a bit too bouncy for him and he just walked straight past her.
I managed to get the front bumper and trim on the van looking better. I know it won’t last long but the Autoglym stuff was free so I might as well use it up before trying something else. 
Whist I was in cleaning mode I cleaned the windows. The windscreen is a bit of a balancing act involving standing the front wheels. I made a wheel step thing for the Landrovers but it seems to have gone missing. Saying that next door is stood on his shed roof cutting his trees back with a power saw so he is breaking more elf and safety rules than me. 

Dry and cool morning,warmed up to 22 degrees ,sun behind cloud.no rain yet.

Chain saws and garage roofs are not good bedfellows I fell off the roof with a running chainsaw but miraculously landed on a pile of tiles which broke the fall. Didn't do that a second time.

The good news is temperatures are hitting 18 or19°c here today, the bad news is it's hissing down and will be for most of today. Out for coffee with my big brother 

Talking of brothers..........am I the only one who thinks the music of Oasis was   

Only 17° here today , its that now and won't get higher. 80% chance of rain, mostly after lunchtime, so basically another grey day. 
Renovating the garden bench, all wood removed and sanded back ready for staining, cast iron ends are still good, so that's my day in the garage.
For the pasty lovers amongst us, I had a fidget pasty yesterday , I'll leave you to look that up.

Overcast ,cool wind and dry,however had a good walk at dawn with Tag .

A nice bright but breezy start today. The breeze is nice and warm for a change so it can’t be off the North Sea.
The garden bin is due to be emptied today so the dreaded front hedge with need trimming whilst we have somewhere to put the cuttings. If I get it done today I will have until Friday to recover before we leave.
