That's the stuff Boaby, you'll be back doing the miles in no time. Dry and cool this morning after non-stop rain yesterday. More rain expected this afternoon and another yellow flood warning for the west of Scotland for tomorrow.

A lovely bright and warm start to the day. I think today I will try and clear the ivy from the last fence panel at the bottom of the garden ready to treat it. This will just leave the side of the workshop to treat. I am trying to pace this job out to leave me fit and able for our travels at the end of the month.

Bright and sunny here too but a stiff breeze blowing from the SW. Trip to Falmouth today to sort out a few things this morning followed by the inevitable pasty. Tomorrow have to go to Barnstaple, forecast is quite good, all downhill from then by the looks of it. Just don't want any hurricanes for our drive to Gatwick the following weekend.....

Dry morning so got the last of the borders weeded, then quick run over the rest with hoe. More rain promised later

Garage door guy finally has new motor from Germany, phoned to say could he come 8am Saturday to fit it. Will be good to get in and out of garage through main door rather than through house. (Garage has double roller to front, door into back hall of house at side, and door with steps leading to enclosed patio from rear)

Looks like a repeat of yesterday, dry for a couple of hours then rain for the rest of the day. Still feels cold here despite forecasters suggesting it will be muggy. The gardener is scratching her head, two carefully planted pots have acquired large sunflowers. That what she gets for feeding them to the birds  snigger

A lovely bright start this morning spoilt by a contractor tidying the verges at Lidl with a petrol strimmer and leaf blower at six this morning. So far they have been at it for three hours. I get that they are doing a good job keeping it tidy but why start at six in the morning.tap_fingers

Regarding the noise from Lidl I have just looked out of the window. There are two guys with high vis jackets sat in their van. A young lad is blowing the rubbish out of hedge bottom onto the car park. I hope they are going to sweep up the rubbish or is that a different contractor because it’s a car park not a hedge.
Thinking back there was rubbish blowing up the street last time they were here.shrugg

Forecast for yesterday was spot on except it was cold rather than mild, it was pretty dull with the high winds and driving rain making it feel more like winter. We've got a mainly dry day ahead, only hitting 15°c, and more heavy rain tonight. Shopping day so that'll be fun.

WWW, wet, windy and warm this morning, spent yesterday in Barnstaple with son and grandson which was nice, Mum is walking Offas Dyke, probably not so nice this weather.
Sarting to get a few things and suitcases out for packing, departure a week Sunday. No sign of selling the house, market is slow down here but it was never going to sell quickly anyway.

Sitting with a cuppa watching rain stotting off main road in front of house. Both BBC and Met Office apps say zero chance of rain today. Will wait and see before hanging washing out.

Hope house gets interest soon GH, easier to deal with from UK than Canada I would imagine

Dry but breezy start here. I got rid of the dreaded ivy yesterday so I am ready for treating when management is away.
Gas man is coming back this morning. After our boiler service on Monday one of our radiators won’t turn off.scratch head
I have a package to collect later so it going to be one of those waiting days. No matter one more weekend nearer to next trip.

Warm southerly wind at + 20 , should get better later.

It’s certainly a bit blustery this morning. After the muppet with leaf blower at Lidl scattered the rubbish from the hedge bottom across the car park it has now spread up our avenue and into our front gardens.
Management is away for a couple of days so me and muttlie can have some chill out time. I have a couple of little jobs to do before next weekend but nothing major.
As per others we look forward to our travels the planning and preparing to go is as much fun. Management has started planning the menus and van shopping list for later next week.

After yet another rainy night, the sun is out but there are lots of broken clouds so more of the wet stuff today. The wind is still gusting so temperatures won't get higher than 16°c and it looks like staying unsettled over the weekend. Stay safe folks.

Had the same parked by some grass the other day Dave, workman strimmed the grass then blew it all over the cars parked. Muppet.
Back from early shop, sunny after overnight rain so blowing leaves and may get chance to try out my new 24 foot washpole on the gutters and soffits. My days of climbing ladders are over.

We have just been out for our meander and found a bin against the front of managements car. No damage done but what do I with it. There’s no house number on it and if I leave it on the pavement it will take off again.scratch head
For now it’s wedged between the corner of the van and the hedge.
Talking of long wash poles has reminded me I need to dig out the van wash long brush before we go away. The front of the overcab is filthy. The rest of the van dosnt really need washing. Maybe if this wind eases off I will tackle it.

I am thinking of holding the bin for ransom. Our son lives near a park and it’s a weekend event stealing a bin and setting fire to it so I will move it away from the footpath tonight.
The wind seemed to have abated a bit at lunch time but I managed to get soaked washing the front of the roof. Any water from the hose was re directed by the gusts. No matter it was worth the effort. Back to black on the trim tomorrow.

Rain here this morning and very welcome too. Forecast till afternoon, let's hope so.

We had two ponds in our back garden, always had summer problems keeping them topped up with rain water. Total of 5 butts. Last year we made the bigger one into a veg plot. This year, in spite of that, have struggled to keep even the smaller one full. Currently about 3" down from full.

Shows how dry it's been here....

No such problems here, we certainly get enough rain. We also have had fairly decent spells of dry weather over spring and summer but it's the low temperatures which have been most disappointing. It's a showery start today with a mainly dry morning and afternoon before the rain returns this evening. Only getting up to 15°c  shrugg.
