Re: Weather
Another hot day here with a little cloud cover whilst we eat our butties at lunch time. We managed a walk down to the village for afternoon tea overlooking the beach but that’s it for today.
Considering it’s not school holidays and a week day the beach was quite busy. Unfortunately it’s a no dog beach but there is a little cove on the way back that dogs are allowed and has a stream running down it so muttly can have a paddle cool his feet and have a drink.

Re: Weather
Nice looking pool. They closed the one next to the Stellplatz in Zell on 1st May for three years to rebuild it - could have done with it this week. Hopefully the pool next to the Rudesheim site will be OK.

Re: Weather
Nice and sunny just now with the temp hovering around the 14 degree mark. Met office says it's going to rain all afternoon but I'm taking that with a pinch of salt as they have been wrong all week.

Re: Weather
Great walk around Kirkby Stephen yesterday, spotted a Red Squirrel (hard not to as it was six feet in front of us on a tree), a Kestrel, a Heron, thousands of (brown trout?) fry and, in the evening, almost as many crows filling the sky before hitting the trees. Home today, it's already raining here and temperatures have dropped by 10°c with a high of 14°c. Looks like we're probably going to see plenty of rain on the road.

17° at moment, rising to 20 later, very slim chance of rain according to weather app. Garden centre for coffee and cake today, that's about it.

Re: Weather
A lovely bright morning so thinks me it’s a shorts day. By the time we had our morning stroll round the dog field the breeze was quite chilly so back to trousers.
We walked down to the village for lunch sat overlooking the beach with a nice cool breeze. After a mooch round it became cold and misty followed by light drizzle so we set off back to the van. Typically it cleared up en route but the drizzle came back just as I got the chairs out. No matter a bit of chill out time before we move tomorrow for three nights in the forest near Marlbourgh before heading home.

Re: Weather
Not a bad run home yesterday, a few showers and some hefty gusts of crosswinds. When we got home it was pouring down with a strong westerly driving it on. Brighter this morning with occasional showers and a high of 14°c. Back to a fleece and long trousers for me.

Thanks Boaby. I meant to tell you I found a crowd doing your Caramel/custard doughnuts. It was Marchbank bakers who seem to have shops across the south of Scotland. I was forced to have one, in the name of research you understand
It's been not too bad here, got the first lot of holiday washing dried and the second lot is out now.

Re: Weather
It rained quite hard at some time early morning and I normally struggle to get back to sleep but it was half seven when I woke up.
After breakfast it was dry but the breeze was chilly for our walk before packing up to move. I felt sorry for the tent dwellers and the tuggers packing away wet tents and awnings.
We intended to stop at a castle for lunch part way to our next site but after an hour sat on the M5 for two junctions we are going to have lunch on route and go straight to the site. After two weeks of none motorway travels I never thought to check for traffic reports. No matter we can cut across the top of Salisbury on A roads instead.

Re: Weather
Morning all. Very occasional light shower yesterday but the wind was blowing a hoolie. Cloudy and bright today with no rain on the forecast and a high of 16°c. That should please the gardener who wants to get the grass cut. We also need to work out what to do with the glut of Strawberries from the garden, we still have some frozen from last year
Happy travels folks, if away.

Re: Weather
First rain in a week or two has just started , good walk with Tag in the cool breeze earlier .
Looks like the fudge doughnuts will have to wait till we’re back up over the border Tony, not this year though ,thanks for the tip.
Wife has the green house full of tomato, green pepper and melon plants, all in the early stages with the fruit just coming out ( she started late in planting) some strawberries on the go too.
Have a great day.

Re: Weather
Have you not got Greggs there Boaby, they've always stocked caramel/fudge doughnuts or Morrisons but they don't ice them just fill them.
Anyway rain overnight here, rather dull and only a high of 16 with pretty good chance of more rain .

Re: Weather
A lovely sunny day with a light breeze here in Marlborough. Yesterdays travel plans didn’t get better after getting off the M5. A combination of traffic coming off the M5 and road works on the A303 it was stop start traffic until we turned north near Salisbury. The castle visit didn’t happen.
No matter the site in the forest at Postern hill is lovely. As told by the warden “park we’re you like the walk to to town is that way, the forest walk is that way”.
This morning we walked into town forgetting it was Saturday so it quite busy with a market on the Main Street. Because it was warm we decided to have lunch in town. The church had picnic tables outside in the shade so we a pot of tea and sandwiches. It’s wasn’t particularly exspensive and it will help towards the church funds.
Coming back we stopped in the woods for a rest. A young deer stood watching us. Muttly just stared at it. He may have never seen one before.
