Re: Weather
Was quite bright and sunny this morning but it's starting to cloud over now and is quite cool at 6 degrees.
Wouldn't know where to get a dod of coal now Boaby and there's not so much first footing now as there isn't the same sense of community as there was - just idiots with fireworks.
Hae a guid Hogmanay and New Year all.

Re: Weather
A dry and bright morning after heavy rain last night so I thought it would be a good chance to get some of the muck off the front of the Rienza. Most of it has come off the roof since we last used it late November.
Not all ideas got plan of course. As I connected the hose to the long brush the hoselock bit broke off. I have only had it for tens years so it’s got life in yet. Off to the workshop to adapt a double male coupling to fit in the handle. That’s saved me fifteen quid and the mucks gone. I dont think it will help towards the MOT on Wednesday but I feel better knowing it’s clean.
When I was doing MOT testing some of the farmers vehicles were so were so dirty my boss used to refuse to test them.

Re: Weather
Happy new year to you too Dave, and to all on the forum, chilly morning with a brisk westerly wind. Shorter walk with Tag this morning ,avoiding all the party people heading home.
Didn't stop up for the bells, watched abit of vintage Rikki Fulton and still game Still funny IMO .
Have a nice day stay safe and dry.

Re: Weather
Happy new year to one and all I may have lost some friends though, sent them the same message as my last post here in a text, my phone changed lum to lumps
No hangover here, sat up for a short while with a little refreshment but nothing excessive. Dried up now and likely to stay that way and getting up to 7°c later. Looks good for our (now) traditional new year's day walk.
Take care folks

Happy New Year folks. We stayed up to listen to the bells and managed half an hour before heading off to bed.
It’s a bright start and feels a bit warmer today. Hopefully daughter is coming for tea or I will be eating roast beef for a week. There’s a limit to how meany things you can do with left over roast beef.

True Ian, after a lifetime of proof reading my reports and correspondence I've got a bit lazy. Problem with WhatsApp, when it's gone it's gone. I got off quite lightly though compared to an ex-work colleague whose letter to a chap called "Angus" was spellchecked and sent without a proof read. I'll leave it to you to work out what it changed his name to

Happy New Year to all, as TW has posted wet and miserable down here, 10 degrees.
Spent the morning in the rain trying to sort out the dead Burstner parked here, German quality build...... It remains parked here similar to the legendary Norwegian blue parrot.
Have a great day all

Re: Weather
Another fan of Playa Blanca here. We had a lot of rain overnight, still a bit damp outside but (allegedly) clearing to leave a cold but dry day.
So, was that it. I suspect our various bits of festive accoutrements scattered around the house will slowly disappear before I receive the order to dismantle the tree Can I be the first to wish you all a Happy Easter
Take care all.

Morning folks,
6 degrees her and bright, should stay dry until later on this evening when rain is forecast (again!!). Need to do a spot of shopping today so let's see how long before the Easter eggs are on the shelves.

Re: Weather
A grey and now damp day here. I have an appointment with foot lady so the obvious thing to do would be to drive down but daughter left her car here last across the drive. No matter it’s not far.
Once I get back we are going to give the van a run out pre MOT tomorrow. Perhaps Barton for lunch in the rope walk cafe.

Re: Weather
Persistent, torrential rain and gales. Two weather warnings. Tried to take grandchildren to St Fagans Museum but defeated by floodwater: stopped when I saw a car stranded in a flood, and turned back. River Taff the highest I've seen it. But it's mild, so not using much central heating oil.

Re: Weather
To say it was a wet day was an understatement. By the time I got to see the foot lady I was absolutely soaked. She had to mop the floor were my coat was hanging.
The drive up to Barton wasn’t too bad and the lunch was very nice. Coming home I thought it would be better to come down the A18 past the airport rather than dodging the trucks on the A180. Some of puddles were kerb to kerb and quite deep even by Transit levels. I think the breakdown people are going to be busy with WD40.

Windy old day today, rained non stop this morning but a bit of brightness this afternoon.
Haven't been to Lanazagrote for many years, still remember it as a great place so enjoy Ian.
We are off again a few days after you, this time St Lucia for three weeks, never been there before, looking forward to some Caribbean snorkelling and sailing. 29 degrees there right now.
Have a great evening all

Re: Weather
Yes, it turned into a very wet "dry" day yesterday. Wonder if the weather forecasters had bit too much of a party at Hogmanay Bit milder today but the forecast is for rain later, so who knows. Out for coffee via a stop at M&S to return goods, so still enjoying the traditions of Christmas
Enjoy your travels Ian and GH, nobody jealous here Stay safe folks.
