Re: Weather
As Larry Grayson once said "What a grey day..." Colourless. Snow on the roof over the road matches the colour of the sky.
No more snow but yesterdays hasn't thawed at all. Overcast at the moment and -1 and it doesn't look like anything's going to change any time soon.

Re: Weather
Thick sea fret/ har has rolled in , thawing abit, footpaths still iced up ,no one clears their paths these days, not down here anyway. Is it just us oldies that still clear the snow away ?
Stay warm. Take care down in Broadway Bob.

Re: Weather
A massive +12° here today. Sorry!
It’s quite a change from the snow of a few days ago.

Re: Weather
Morning folks,
0 degrees and a clear sky. Snowed slightly later on yesterday but there seems to have been a bit of a thaw overnight as there isn't quite as much snow on the ground and rain is forecast for later on so that.

Re: Weather
Yes, feet up for me. Recovering from the double jabs last night, feel OK but both arms are tender. Up to 1°c now and it appears a thaw is on the way. Snow blanket is shrinking and the rain on the way from the east should clear most of it away.
Take it easy whatever you're up to today.

Re: Weather
Wet, drizzly and thick fog along the A55 this morning between Holywell and Northop. 3° which is as warm as its going to get today.
Just back from weekend away in hotel for a change, unfortunately novovirus amongst a few guests so have to wait 2/3 days to see if we've picked it up.

Re: Weather
Positively tropical in the SW of Cornwall today, first daffodils are out. Cloudy skies, 11 degrees and dry which is a blessing as SWMBO reports another leak in the kitchen roof which will require me to go aloft again.
Have a great day all

Re: Weather
Welcome back GH, hope your trip was successful (and sorry about the leak).
Paul, papers at the weekend were reporting a wave of Norovirus hitting the country, hopefully you will both be ok. The report said that sanitizers don't work and handwashing is the most effective way of preventing spread. Interestingly, I've noticed that many men (can't speak for women) are back to leaving toilets without washing their hands.
Little change in the weather here, bit of misty rain but it having no impact on the lying snow.

Re: Weather
Hope, too, you're virus free Paul
Just checked the van for the first time since 16Nov and all fine, 13.4 on VB and 13.6 on LB. Nothing left on and, thankfully no Sargent stuff, but at least the solar has maintained the charge which would have been 12.7v if neither solar nor self discharge..
Looking a wee bit warmer midweek...
If the Cornish weather is so great, how is the roof leaking GH

Re: Weather
I knew the snow wouldn’t last long. It was damp and misty last night This morning it was raining but not as cold.
By the time I got to the workshop this afternoon the heater had tripped off and stayed off. The energy thing in the house said we used about £12 /£15 during the cold spell but today it was reading just over £5 at tea time.

Re: Weather
Too soon to tell but we are both OK so far. We could tell something was up at the hotel as the staff were all suddenly wearing vinyl gloves and not just wiping tables but wiping chairs as well and any guests who were affected were told to remain in rooms together with their partners and any food was delivered to their rooms. Some activities over the weekend were cancelled due to staff sickness.Askit wrote:

Fingers crossed your OK Paul. Rained here today and all the snow has gone. Wasn't too cold either so that helped. Got tomorrow off so taking my Mum for a bit of Christmas shopping (might even treat her and the Boss to lunch)

Re: Weather
One tiny lump of snow left in the garden where I dumped stuff when clearing a path to the bins. The rain wasn't heavy but it was enough, coupled with the temperature hitting 4°c yesterday, to clear it away. 2°c this morning and dry with light cloud. Looks like we're back to frost tomorrow.
We were both feeling pretty ropey all day yesterday after our double jabs, feel a bit more like it this morning.
Take care folks.

Rained for most of the night easing to heavy coastal showers with the odd short break ,long enough to get Tag out for a short donder.
