Re: Weather
Thunder and lightning here near Mablethorpe, not seen rain that heavy since I was in Mombasa in monsoon season, constantly coming down for over 45 minutes, at least it's filled my water barrels

Before we left this morning it was cooler and overcast but to my surprise we have made it to Hope in Derbyshire with no rain. It’s cloudy but warm now so maybe a walk into the village after a brew.

Re: Weather
We had some rain overnight and the occasional rumble of thunder but not as much as forecasted. Trip down the M74 only produced one heavy shower lasting about 10mins. Bright and breezy now and still very warm.
I was not a very happy camper this morning. The van got a wash a couple of days ago, prior to our trip away. Turned up at the storage site and the van was covered (and I really mean covered) in bird****.

Raining in York. 15° rising to 19. Rain forecast for most of the day. Looks like a day at the outlet village as its undercover. Good job I've lost the key to my wallet !

Re: Weather
Typically the day we travel it’s a lovely day but the day we were thinking of going for a walk it’s chucking it down. No matter it’s might dry up later and we have an extra day here so there’s always tomorrow.

Re: Weather
Started cloudy in the South of Scotland but warm and dry. Just had an hour of rain but it's done nothing to clear the air. Back to dry and sunny now.

Been chucking it down since 8.30, no sign of stopping, thunderstorms predicted this afternoon. Haven't ventured out at all so maybe wallet safe after all.Paulmold wrote:Raining in York. 15° rising to 19. Rain forecast for most of the day. Enjoy the trip Tony. Still sunny here but black as coal towards Lands End, looks like it will miss us but who knows. In the time it took to type this it is still sunny but now raining!

No rain this side of Anglesey (although it was forecast), still watering the garden and still in shorts and vest walking the dogs on the beach both at 6am and this afternoon - too hot to do much gardening yesterday but managed a few hours today :-)

Re: Weather
It looked to be a promising day with light showers forecast for late afternoon so we decided to walk up to Castleton. A two mile walk along the river. Yes it was a nice walk even though we have a bit of drama with the stiles. Muttly hasn’t got the idea and really hates being picked up.
As we left the market place to walk back there was drizzle in the air so we put jackets on. Five minutes later it stopped so jackets off. Ten minutes later it absolutely chucked it down. Jackets back on.
Because of the stiles we walked back along the road. Two very soggy people and a sulky wet muttly. As we came on to the site the rain stopped again.
I don’t think any clever make of waterproof clothes would have kept us dry and to make matters worse muttly absolutely stinks of wet dog even after a good toweling.

Managed to get to Hawes despite the usual debacle on the A66, many thanks to whoever decided to do survey work over the summer months. All the folk stuck in the 4/5 mile queues in each direction wish you well
Blue skies and 20°c if you believe the forecast, feels much warmer to me

Clear skies overnight with full sunshine expected all day. Off to look at new glasses frames today, fairly pointless exercise as can't see a thing without prescription glasses on.
WXL being MOT'd today.

Re: Weather
A dry but overcast start today. Unfortunately it looks like the wet weather is going to follow us to our next stop near Leek for the next couple of days.
No matter the walks will be towpath so no stiles to bother muttly and we will be in a pub carpark so there’s somewhere to retreat from the rain.

Re: Weather
19 degrees and sunny, good luck with the MOT Bb.
Woke this morning to a visit from a local to say something had attacked our rubbish and it was all over the lane, she looked horrified. Good job she didn't see what a bear can do!
Looks like it should stay dry, big day down here tomorrow with armed forces day celebrations, Battle of Britain flight, Arrows, parachutes and many other historic aircraft so will be outside with the binos in hope they come this way, hope the weather stays fine for that.
Have a great day all

Morning all, forecast for today is sunny but (says the expert) you may catch a random heavy and prolonged thunder shower No matter, out for a walk on the dales, which may or may not include a visit to the Wensleydale cheese factory

19 rising to 23 in York, hot and sticky but strong chance of rain this afternoon. Did the designer outlet village yesterday, got a couple of bargains from the M&S outlet but some places have lost the plot with prices , claiming 2 polo shirts for £80, coffee machines at £1000. Cost of living crisis ?!!
