Stormy here with winds reaching 60. A very wild morning with bits of tree flying around.

Re: Weather
Eggs a plenty just below a sign saying, sorry no eggs, this is Cornwall after all.
Back from the early morning shop, not just eggs that are getting smaller, bought a baguette in M&S and it was about the size of a decent sausage, whasson!
Rough as rats down here this morning, winds howling and rain lashing, you wouldn't want to be stood on Cape Cornwall today, looking better next week though.
Take it easy out there everyone and stay safe
Have a great day all

Re: Weather
Finishing getting van packed for weekend away at Dunbar but have been rained off, earlier drizzle turned to monsoon. Only thing left to pack is management's mobility scooter, but don't fancy driving it up the drive and dismantling it to load in the back doors in the rain so sitting it out just now with a cuppa. Will get wet if I need to but still time.
Hopefully everyones weather improves

Re: Weather
A damp and drizzle morning brightening up by lunch time. I don’t think it’s weather related but my back aches today. Fitting the new flush pump in the Rienza can’t have helped. The only way to fit it was by sitting on the loo turned sideways. No matter the jobs done and it’s countdown to our next trip.

Yep, it’s brightened up and the wind doesn’t seem so gusty although still strong. Need to fit new wiper blades to the van - there’s another day tomorrow.

Re: Weather
Bit cooler than yesterday at 5°c but still dry and cloudy. We appear to be missing the weather systems hitting the east and the other that's stuck over Ireland.
Forgot to say that although we got eggs in Aldi, they had no porridge oats Toast anybody
Take it easy

Much the same as Tony here, bit warmer at 6 degrees.
Plenty eggs in Morrisons yesterday but the one thing I just can't seem to find these days is soda scones. Ended up having to buy breakfast muffins but they just aren't the same.

Aldi sell them but they are (IMHO) very dry and powdery. Many years ago, we got them as a takeaway filled with cheese, tomato and pickled onion from a bakers in Motherwell and we loved them. After trying, and failing, to find decent quality ones in shops my wife eventually made her own
Went out for a walk this morning, the wind is really cold. Hope BB gets a bit of shelter over in Dunbar.

Much better day today just a few showers.
Discussion going on about the future of the van looks like it will be going after September.
Just not getting the use from it.

Rain held of long enough for me to jet wash the rear patio slabs, metal garden furniture and bloc driveway.
As Tony says, hope it's better up the coast in Dunbar BB, still heavy sea fog patches here.milder though,

Dry and calm here. Temperature has just peaked at 10°, getting cooler for rest of day. Very little chance of rain forecast today.

Re: Weather
No shelter as we chose a pitch with sea view. Dry with low cloud and gentle breeze meaning I don't need to lean into the wind to stay upright. If forecast is right we may even get to see Bass Rock later on. Dunbar CCC site looks like it could become a favourite for short breaks
Understand what you are saying about use of the van GH, I reckon for our circumstances we need to use van minimum of 30 nights a year otherwise better to sell it and use hotels, Las year ee used it 47 nights
Nice to be away again
Enjoy your weekends

Have a nice day.

Enjoy Dunbar BB, we prefer the commercial site at the other end of the town because it's easier walking. 7°c and a bit dull just now but it should brighten up later, just hope I do as well

Re: Weather
7 degrees and overcast here in Forfar, heating in van packed up at 7pm last night, w 255 h.. tried all the usual tricks including unplugging control unit, don't carry a fan heater (will do now ). Got home at 10pm and Truma working again. Working OK this morning so we will head north for day trip and finish at Stoney fir tea. Heating had been on quite high for several hours as management was feeling cold, wondering if this was cause although Google can't find d anyth8ng. Hot water felt above 60.

Bright and sunny now after a dull start, breezier than forecast.
If anyone wants an alternative to motorhoming check out these 2 website, they may surprise you plan B for us now plan A when van eventually has to go...
Bienvenue Au Chateau
Paradores.es
We costed, very carefully a 3 week MH trip from Bilbao to Calais using mostly either of the above and our car. To my amazement and I was very thorough re meals costs as well as B&B etc it came to within £100 of the MH cost..

Re: Weather
Truma says this for that code.....
The heater does not have 12 Volt power supply or there is no connection between the heater and the CP plus control panel. The power supply to the heater may have been interrupted by switching off the vehicle control panel (not the Truma heater control panel).
Maybe leisure battery too low for fan to work after being run for several hours but I'm assuming you were on hook up , so for some reason not powering your 12v supply.

Very dull here and 7° , rising to 11. Very slim chance of rain today. Travelling down to meet up with sons family to Telford to handover pressies to 8yr old granddaughter (birthday yesterday) and lunch somewhere.

Re: Weather
Yes Paul aware of this and did all the fixes Truma and others suggest. Failure happened when as I say heater had been on high, on ehu, for several hours. Water heater not switched on (therefore no thermostat for boiler? ) and I ran some hot water to wash my hands. Observatin is fault has corrected when water temp reduced. My hypothesis based on observation is very hot water may have expanded a plastic plug somewhere causing a loose electrical connection lead to w255h, resolved on return to normal temperatures. If it was drop in voltage should have corrected after I unplugged and reconnected ehu. At least it is working againPaulmold wrote:Truma says this for that code.....

Can't find anything on Internet about this scenario so my thoughts may be complete b*****ks

Think the plastics will be getting another oiling as I can see a couple of bits I didn't cover as well last time I did them and there are a couple of streaks starting to appear.
