Re: Weather
A bright if slightly overcast day here. It must be heading into spring now because I saw a bumble bee and a butterfly in the front garden this lunch time.

Re: Weather
Apart from the strong wind, its a lovely day here, 15° and sunny. Butterfly seen here couple of days ago, several blackbirds hopping around the garden (we don't get many birds apart from wood pigeons , crows and seagulls)

Re: Weather
It's been very cold in the wind here but at least the rain has kept away, so far. We were back at the DIY store today (gardener bought the wrong size of pots last time ), there was a large bumblebee seeking accommodation and a Peacock butterfly doing the rounds in the garden section. The clocks going forward on Sunday will help the mood

Still windy but the rain has stopped, blue skies showing with a little haze in the distance, a high of 13degrees and wind increasing to 35mph

Re: Weather
Morning Folks, 6 degrees here this morning but it's dry with no rain forecast and supposed to go up to around the 10 degree mark today. First outing in the van this weekend, off to Melrose for a couple of nights so hopefully the weather will hold out for us.

Ditto here too, beautiful sunny morning. Good in another way as we're having the gable fascia redone so good wx is a real bonus.

10 degrees and sunny so far but rain on the way later...perfect day for a 500 mile round trip to Heathrow if such a day exists.

Re: Weather
Rather you than me for that one GH.
Nudged up to 7°c now, forecast suggests it will stay dry, the sky is telling me something different. It looks quite gloomy with dark clouds being pushed along by a brisk wind. Shopping day for us so need to do my breathing exercises to get in the zone
Take it easy

9° rising to 11 today. Rained most of the night, started again just now, 95% chance of further rain throughout the day.

Re: Weather
As I predicted it did not stay dry here, rained on and off for a couple of hours this morning but we did get some washing dried because of the strong winds blowing during the afternoon. Back to rain again now.
Anyone know where all the eggs are, none in either Aldi or Lidl Just wondered if it would be impolite to ask the checkout assistant in Tesco to stop reading the headlines in our newspaper before scanning it

Re: Weather
We had the same problem last week in Morrisons and Tesco - no eggs at all.
We haven't had any rain today at all but I just unplugged the EHU cable and wondered what the rattling noise was - plug was full of water, quite how it didn't short or blow a circuit breaker is beyond me. Shopping trip on the cards tomorrow to get another one before we leave for the weekend methinks

Re: Weather
Nice starlite morning after a few rain showers over night, good walk with Tag down the harbour to watch the wee boaties go out.
A bit of excitement on my return journey, walking with Tag along Marton road ( road to CAMC site) nearing the traffic lights when 4 Police vehicles stopped at the junction, first car stopped me from preceding along the path, told me to turn around , I did without any complaint, me and Tag beat it through the wee bungalow estate heading home.
All I could hear was Police dogs barking, police shouting " armed Police " etc etc, made my way through the estate up to Bempton lane ,the Police were still stopping vehicles and turning them around.
Anyway that's my day started, have a nice day, enjoy Moffat Dave

Re: Weather
Morning Boaby, sounds like you have had an exciting morning.
Wet here, raining and 6 degrees, not looking good for the drive at all and the weather down there looks much the same as here. Hopefully it might brighten up later on.

Re: Weather
Sounds like somebody has reported the CAMC site prices to the constabulary Boaby Have a good trip to Melrose Dave, at least the shops are close and your van will be safe from missiles as it's not tennis season.
Dry just now but it will be short lived, it's been raining all night and there is more in the way for later. Ordered a new LB and it's due to arrive today, given the courier involved (think Switzerland ) I will not hold my breath

Sounds exciting Boaby, Tag hasn't been wearing that mask again has he? You know what I am going to ask Tony...LB?
Lovely morning here, early shop completed and visitors safely sent on their way home to Vancouver and beyond. Spring tides at the moment so river is in full flood, looks beautiful.
HGV medical tomorrow and licence renewal (hopefully!) so that should be fun. New photo as well I didn't realise how much of a criminal I look, still I will get a haircut and shave the beard a bit before Christmas.

Re: Weather
Rough night with rain and gales. A couple of showers so far today but some blue sky around, still blowing a gale. 12° which is as warm as its going to get today but only 50% chance of more rain , better than yesterday's 100%.

Leisure battery GH, some clown could have left our led lights on when he deposited the van in storage for several months over the winter The battery is beyond recovery, the clown is being reminded regularly of my his misdemeanor
Saw some of Vancouver Island on the BBC the other night (Race Across the World), very impressive.

A breezy but bright start for our morning walk. The wind was getting stronger as we passed the back of Conigsby but not as bad as we have known it on previous trips to Deepdale especially during storm Dennis.

Yes a curious route one couple took taking a ferry to Nanaimo then road to Victoria when they could have taken the ferry straight to Victoria for the same cost and much quicker.Askit wrote:Leisure battery GH, some clown could have left our led lights on when he deposited the van in storage for several months over the winter The battery is beyond recovery, the clown is being reminded regularly ofmyhis misdemeanor

Even I thought the place looked great but of course they didn't show the other 98% which consists of pine trees, pine trees and pine trees.
Whoops on the battery issue, I left the water pump turned on one night and the dump valve triggered but the pump kept going and burned out

My defence (for what its worth) is I was returning the van to storage after a major service and MOT in November. By the time they had finished it was late and very dark. For some reason there were no lights on at the storage yard so I switched the leds to sort out the interior seating etc
I should also add that despite my reservations about the couriers, the battery turned up at 1.30pm, less than 24h from when it was ordered.
Unfortunately the weather has been entirely reliable with heavy showers on and off all day.
