Re: Weather
It looks like we picked the right day to go out yesterday. Earlier this morning the rain seemed fairly heavy and it’s now damp and muggy. Muttly will like the wet grass smells on our walk.

Re: Weather
Rain started late evening yesterday and hasn't stopped since. Dull and drizzly now with little chance of change today. Got some things on the go indoors so I'll be kept busy.

Re: Weather
Very light rain overnight here too, not enough to make the ground wet. Sun is trying to break through though it could make a bit more effort. More planning for the upcoming French trip in a couple of weeks time, outbound ferry booked Plymouth to Roscoff, where we are going or when we return your guess is as good as mine!

Look like a day for under the car canopy as the rain isn't letting up. It's still warm enough to wear shorts.

Re: Weather
I (and forecasters) got it wrong yesterday, rain stopped in the morning. It stayed fairly cool but got better as the day wore on. Sunny and dry now, gardener is talking about grass cutting so I may go over and try to rearrange the dirt on the van. Couple of bits needing attention on the inside of it too so we'll see what the boss wants.
Having a bit of supply issue with our visiting house sparrows, we have three tube feeders, two bird tables, one for fat balls and another for nuts. There must be 50 or 60 birds coming in and, yesterday, they cleaned them out I don't know if we can keep them going at the rate they're eating.

Overcast and a little drizzly this morning, still very warm though. Same as you Boaby, end of the month finances today, always handy to see how much the bucket has emptied
Strange you mention the birds Tony, only a few minutes ago I said to Lady G there seems to be a lot more activity on the feeders today, wonder if it is because it is a little cooler?
On with the finances, if you here sobbing you will know the result was not good.

It rained early this morning but it’s dry and muggy now. Todays task is to clear the pots and tubs off the decking and get it washed down. It should have been re treated last year but it got missed. If we get a dry couple of dry days I will it done before we our next trip.

Forecasters got it wrong again, no sooner had I posted but the drizzle started and it's still going. Plans have been torn up
GH, our sparrows are mostly very young birds from this years broods. No doubt our local Sparrowhawk will be heading our way soon

Re: Weather
After several hours of rain it's turned to drizzle now, 10 days ago it was 36 plus.
Just signed up for another fixed rate energy deal from October for 12 months, 110% increase.
Second freezer in the garage turned off, heating down ( when it comes on) just to start with.
Have a nice day.

I wish you lot would stop talking about all the rain you've had, we still haven't had a single drop since 6th June. Have seen some around but just bypasses us.

Re: Weather
A warm and bright start here. I managed to get the decking scrubbed yesterday between showers until the last bit but the rain didn’t justify a jacket.
From what I can see the forecast isn’t going to stay dry enough until the weekend to re treat the decking, bench and banisters but there’s no rush. The hardest bit is done.

Dry start down here, light cloud so it is out for a quick blow round of the leaves that have fallen so early then carry on spraying the plastic on the van. Coming on well and looks soooo much better.
Have a great day all

Lots of rain overnight and a bit showery this morning, hopefully it's a clearing picture for us as we head east and southish
Nice job GH, what kind of paint did you use? I tried to restore my mirror protectors using plasticote, total waste of time. They are still on the van but are being replaced

All change again here. After a muggy night it really chucked it down this morning. Re treating the decking is off the cards for today. Hopefully we will get a couple of days to get it dry and give me time to re treat it.

Re: Weather
Thanks to some great advice from IanH I used a proper plastic primer, several coats, then Mercedes Arctic White which is the cab colour and matches perfectly followed by five coats of matt lacquer. Parts were spotlessly clean and lightly sanded before spraying. Will post some pictures on the "painting yellowed plastic" thread as soon as I can get round to it.Askit wrote:Lots of rain overnight and a bit showery this morning, hopefully it's a clearing picture for us as we head east and southish

Not a bad morning down here, sun is trying to shine and very mild again, something came down from the skies overnight but to keep Beetee happy I wont mention what it was.
Last couple of mornings have noticed one peanut holder has been going walkabout and the empty container found some fifty yards away, couldn't figure it out but suspect it may be a deer that has been spotted frequently snooping around. It is in for a shock now as I have cable tied the lid shut and the holder to the post so let's see how clever he/she is.
Have a great day all

Re: Weather
Drive from Angus to Northumberland was more windy than I expected, feel like I have been wrestling a bear. Now sitting out in what turns out to be a breeze rather than the gales I thought I was driving through. Pleasant 24degrees with patchy cloud but nice and sunny at present.
Good work GH, I am sure plenty of others will queue up if you offer this as a service.
Enjoy your break Tony

Thanks Boaby and same to you BB.
Van said it was 27°c outside at Berwick (Spittal), when the wind dropped it was certainly pretty hot but not sure that's accurate. Turned into a cracking evening. Think it will be a bit cooler tomorrow but still pretty decent.
Thanks GH. I did clean, sand and prime the mirror protectors. I think the quality was lacking in the paint.

21 degrees overnight, out with Tag before the light showers came on earlier, still some heavy clouds on the move.
There's a wee shop and bakery down the bottom end of Main Street Tony ( you probably already know this) , papers and morning rolls to be had.
tag and me used to call in on the way back from the beach at dawn, beautiful sunrises.
Have a nice day, take care if your on the road.
