Young neds, have them here too, glad yer fineAskit wrote:Very foggy here too, gauge says 10°c but it feel much, much colder. Very glad to be here, went to the local newsagent for a paper and decided to use the pedestrian crossing as the road was busy. I waited until the lights went red and the cars had stopped on my side. As I made my way across I almost got wiped out by a white Corsa going through at well over the speed limit on the other side. Unfortunately it was going too fast to get the reg plate, I just hope some of the cars that stopped had a dash cam.

Re: Weather
Still dark here but we had -8°c up north so I'm guessing we're in for a cold blast. Got to go out for a few things, after my porridge and a large cup of tea of course.

Re: Weather
Another cold grey and damp day here. I think I will put the heating on in the Rienza for the day to try and keep it aired. As much as I wanted a day out to give it a run management isn’t keen on the idea. Maybe once the festivities are done we could make a move.

Some people really shouldn't be allowed behind the wheel, glad you were wide awake Tony and avoided it, could have been awful.Askit wrote:Very foggy here too, gauge says 10°c but it feel much, much colder. 11 degrees and dry in the pointy bit where it joins the wet bit, light breeze but dry again. Managed to get a lot of work done outside yesterday, mostly pulling up montbretia which grows like a weed in these parts, must be the radon gas.
Not a lot planned for the day, may back up some of the old holiday pictures, I have a feeling this computer is on its last legs.
Have a great day all

Thanks for the good wishes folks, think I was saved by how slow I walk now
Very cold and damp morning with a clear sky but no frost. Just dropped my car off at Halfords for a service and MOT. Can almost guarantee that there will be some comment about tyres, ever since Maconochies became part of the business it seems to be routine

Re: Weather
It dosnt seem as misty here but it’s still a bit chilly. Walking back from Lidl yesterday at lunch time it was going dark . It reminded me of were we used to live in the Manchester area. All through winter it was going dark by half past two in the afternoon. Not helped by it being wet most days.

Don't know how big the roll is.groundhog wrote:9 degrees and overcast again, blowing a bit so probably feels cooler outside but haven't ventured out yet. Well, well, well, right time of the year for a prophet, or in the case of Halfords, a profitAskit wrote:Thanks for the good wishes folks, think I was saved by how slow I walk now

Just had a phone call from them, my 5 year old car with under 10000mls on the clock has failed the MOT because of.........tyres It apparently needs 3 replaced at "highwaymen" prices to get through. Two years ago they failed it with less than 6000mls on the clock because it needed new front brakes.
Guess where I'm not getting my MOT done next year, go on, guess

Have you been doing those Autotests again Tony and handbrake turns, under 10000 miles and your car has eaten a set of tyres, that is a bit of a shocker!

I won't tell what I said after the phone call Yes, you would think I had been rallying on the side. Not sure with a 1000cc engine I would be very competitive

Drizzle to fine misting of rain this morning, cold and driech. At best 6 hours of daylight here today. Cloud cover will mean lights in house may need to be on all day.

Re: Weather
Despite having a south facing kitchen window, our lights are on for much of the day over here in the west too. Just getting light now, dry with a bit of a frost and no wind. Forecast is for rain later in the week on some TV channels, others think the cold blast from eastern Europe will win and bring snow for Christmas.

Re: Weather
9 degrees this morning, dry again and cloud cover threatening to break. Went to the supermarche this morning, stocked to the rafters and loads of staff on hand, no worries about supplies here.
Just about ready for Christmas now, only a few bits to get fresh on Thursday then take it easy until New Year.

Re: Weather
It was chilly on our morning walk but the wind had dropped so it wasn’t too bad. Tonights walk was blooming chilly. Muttly wasn’t for hanging about fortunately.
When we went to the pub for lunch they had lit the fires and most people were sat near them. Not wanting to be too close to them we sat at the back. It didn’t seem to bad until we walked out to the car. The temperature had dropped in two hours.
I have put the radiator on in the bedroom to make it cosy when we go up.

Still pitch black outside but it looks dry and clear with a little frost. Fox seems to have taken up residence in our garden, rolled up in a ball under our Kilmarnock Willow. He keeps a close eye on us if we go out to the bins but doesn't move Maybe it will keep the cats out

Re: Weather
Sunny spells in between the clouds, Lady G has the washing out and there is a little breeze so good day for drying so I a told. 10 degrees so very mild.
Little bit of electrical work today, bought some switches from B&Q and never again, they are absolute c**p so need to change them again.
The killer cat round here manged to despatch a squirrel yesterday, at least it wasn't another bird. If we still had our dog (keeshond) killer Kerwin would not have go near the place, maybe time for another one!
