Re: Weather
Clear sky and a heavy frost here, rain showers forecast so that could make things interesting later. Maybe need to get my skates on

Went skating in Tesco car park when out shopping at 7.30 this morning, fortunately managed to stay upright, but rest of the way to shop door was done using the penguin walk.
Take care out there folks.

Re: Weather
9 degrees and mixed cloud and sun, back from the early shop, just a light jacket needed. Forecast a few showers so will get the car washed ready for its MOT next week, hopefully should be straightforward pass.
Quiet around the supermarket and everything in stock, what happened to the truck driver no food on the shelves panic?
Have a great day all and take care on that snow and ice up country!

Suns out, very cold wind, cleaned the top of the van ( using ladder to stand on )as the wife was away shopping. The roof still needs a deep clean as its still really dirty.

Re: Weather
A cold crisp morning here with a few frozen puddles. It was lovely walking in the bright morning light first thing but looks like it’s clouding over now.
I might be tempted into the workshop today. I have a massed chuck out planned. I have some junk I have kept since I was doing breakdowns and junk from my dad that I really couldn’t throw out. The wheelie bin was emptied this week so it’s good timing. It annoys me seeing things under benches that are of no use and the space could be better used.

Re: Weather
Doing a similar thing Dave, we have been through the attics and have sold a load of things that were just stored on facebook marketplace, have bought in over a thousand pounds for things that we would never have used again. Much better than chucking them in the skip.
Overcast morning but dry and not too windy, currently a mild 12 degrees. Lots of small birds around this morning which is nice to see and everything bursting in to life. Slightly worrying the delicate plants are showing signs of coming out when you know the frost will be along soon and kill all the blooms!
Had a failed LED running light on the van so waiting for its return then get out and refit the whole system which has been checked on overhauled. Can't recommend ledcom highly enough, Hefin the main main there is so efficient and helpful.
Have a great day all and careful up those ladders!!

Re: Weather
I really don’t think there’s much worth selling from under the bench. I had at least three sets of tools including some big stuff that I used during my bus fixing days mostly imperial. A guy that restores tractors bought those off me. The rest of the stuff is clutter as far as I can remember. Why I have a box of assorted 24 volt bulbs I can’t imagine.
Whilst I have lunch I will turn the heater up . It’s surprising how quickly my large fan heater takes the edge off the chill.

Early start (not a Boaby early start) for me, had to get to the PO delivery office to pick up a parcel. They always seem to find out when you are not in and then try to deliver
Dry cold start but drizzly rain now on, great weather for putting up the tree and ancillary decorations. I might even give her a hand

Really good couple of hours clearing everything out, always come across those things that you really don't want to get rid of though all they do is sit in a box. When I am the one in the box, guess the children will just take them straight to the tip!
Drizzly rain now put paid to the walk round the village, those moleskin trews sound good Boaby!

Re: Weather
It was nice and warm in the workshops but it was a bit soggy between the workshop and the bin because the rain started early afternoon.
There wasn’t much chucking out but I moved some bits into the dark corner to clear under the bench. For some odd reason there are two small wood vices . One is mine and one is my late father in laws. I have metal vices so I suppose they could be sold. There’s a box of strange spanner’s including a couple of BSA marked ones. My dad had a BSA. so they must have come from him.
Being in a nice warm workshop on a grey wet day I got distracted and checked and oiled my steam engines. The steam pump was asking for a run so I set up its water tank and had a play. It’s one of my favourite builds being different from a normal steam engine.
It seems to have dried up now for our evening walk.

Rained till the early hours, milder at 9 degrees, good walk out with Tag and back for breakfast.
Need to get a washing ready and take advantage of this brief spot of milder weather.
Have a nice day, one of my neighbours builds model steam Railway engines ,all working too, real talent he has.

Re: Weather
Nice morning here. It seems quite mild now the wind has eased off and the overcast is trying to break.
I might have some more workshop time after lunch unless management has plans I forgot about. My interest in steam is mostly a steam wagon I have been building for years. It’s actually number two the first one being sold part built when I packed the workshop up due to work commitments. When I inherited my fathers lathe and workshop bits I bought another part built steam wagon and re started slowly alongside a few stationary engines and the steam pump.
I use birthdays as a time for management and the kids to buy me something to build or something for the workshops.

Re: Weather
Pretty dull and damp but milder so no frost. Got most of the Christmas dust collectors up and lit but we're small fry compared to some of the houses in the street. Guess outdoor LEDs have made it easy for folk to light the place up.
