Rear door restrictors
2019 model Warwick XL , no rear door restrictors fitted , allowing the doors to swing open 180° degree and potentially break rear glass. Anyone else missing these?[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Re: Rear door restrictors
That's an awful thing to happen on a brand new van. Hope you get it sorted it quickly and can move on to enjoy your new Warwick. Having checked our restrictors this morning I can't see why any conversion would require them to be removed. You'll have a good case for a claim against the dealer as this should have been picked up on a pre-delivery check.
I'm very wary about opening the rear doors on an exposed site even with restrictors. On a previous van the offside door was caught by a sudden gust and although the restrictor held it, the internal steel lining ended up being creased from the impact of hitting the stops.

I don't understand why the bump stops didn't prevent the glass from making contact either

Imagine if you had a door mounted bike rack fitted……

Re: Rear door restrictors
I see its broke the glass on the second opening door, near side.
bike racks are fitted to first opening door, off side, so fitting bike rack
would not have been a problem.
have you got the two round push buttons to release door stays on the rear doors on the inside?
all seems to be puzzling if you have.
rear door cards retrimmed etc while converted and then no door stays.
good luck again[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

No Black push buttons fitted, wondering if they were missed off or not fitted to 2019 models ?

Re: Rear door restrictors
There is something very wrong here as I cannot imagine that restrictors would not be fitted to a new van by Peugeot. All the vans I have owned have had restrictors which allow a 90 degree opening and then by pressing a release button, a further 90 degrees.
Given the age of the van, a quick phone call to AS seems called for to get 100% assurance that the restrictor should be present and then back to the dealer for rectification (I know that the claim is with the dealer, but I am interested in hearing what AS have to say).

Or pop in to your local Peugeot garage and see what they have on their forecourt?

Re: Rear door restrictors
My 2016 WXL had them, but my new 2019 WXL does not and due to me fitting a bike rack I have now fitted the door stop and button, luckily AS left the hole in the rear door panel for the button and just left the fabric covering the hole. Not happy about spending the money doing it but it had to be done.
Not sure by leaving them off is breaking Type Approval as they could swing out into traffic, cyclist or pedestrian etc.

Re: Rear door restrictors
That's bonkers. What on earth are AS thinking? I don't see why they feel the restrictors need removing - Peugeot fit them for a good reason. This needs to be stamped on before AS think about removing other important parts of the base vehicle.

Re: Rear door restrictors
Totally agree, bonkers !
I’ve always assumed my van has them fitted, as the doors stop at 90 degrees, but I’ve never needed to open them any wider, so never looked.

The glass isn't actually broken is it ? (reflection looks like a breakage) -but potentially could be broken.

Re: Rear door restrictors
What I have noticed is the big rubber bumper stop does not prevent the door going any further due to the plastic bumper collapsing behind it, so if it's opened slowly it's ok but if the wind catches it and the door went back fast it would smash the door window onto the side of the van above the lights.

Re: Rear door restrictors
Definitely looks broken to me and on both sides.
You can see a shadow of the edge of the glass when zoomed in.

Re: Rear door restrictors
I could be mistaken, but it looks like a photo of the near side rear door, open 180 degrees, taken from the near side of the van looking back. Can't see the off side door at all, just reflection in the glass of the nearside of the van. Sorry I don't mean to be pedantic, but I think the OP just said it had potential to break. Looks like reflections of the side of the van in the glass to me. Perhaps C.L.S. can correct me ?

Re: Rear door restrictors
Sorry all.
Not for the first time, I am undeniably wrong.
I missed the first post.
No excuses.
I have just been to hospital for eye checks, but I still can't see the offside door. Think I've lost the plot.

You can't see the offside door, as it's not in the photo...

Re: Rear door restrictors
The glass did break after 3 hours of owning the van. When fully opened 180° degrees there is around 15mm gap between the door glass and rear corner of the van , applying gentle pressure the glass can easily touch the corner of the van. The replacement glass that was fitted is not privacy glass so that needs to have a film fitted . Not a good start to A/S ownership.......but onwards and upwards. Lol

No, I don't need to see the other door but it had been mentioned earlier in the thread that it could be seen and was also broken.Just saying.

Ahhhh right, I see
@CLS looking forward to air con pics and reports! Any reason you went Dometic rather than Truma (for control panel integration etc)?

Apologies, I didn't see your earlier thread. I thought you were just saying quite rightly that there was potential for a breakage.
Thought it was just a weird reflection in the photo.

Truma unit does not have soft start , but main decision was purely on price.
